The Straw Hats’ adventures in the samurai kingdom of Wano keep getting crazier! And when they learn the horrible truth about the Smile fruits, their fury explodes!! Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.
As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

WANO COUNTRY ARC - PART 4 1. oh god, the smile fruit actually taking away their facial expressions, that's so incredibly gruesome. even to kid's crew. like, how do you even get the mask off?
2. basil you bitch how dare you use the lives of traffy's crew, and then have law trade his life for theirs (but thank you for the visual of traffy all bloodied, sorry!)
4. NEW COLOUR OF ARMAMENT HAKIIIIIIIIIII OBTAINED
5. "you're given enough to keep from dying, and you call that living?" - another banger quote by luffy that's gonna stick with me
6. kid making himself a fucking arm with his power is incredibly, holy frick. and no wonder he doesn't trust luffy, becuase he got betrayed by hawkins from beginning to end, but i do want to see them work together in the end
7. so much is riding on momo's shoulders, poor kid. he came from one trauma to another, and he is but a child, but he's carrying the wish of everyone who lived back then and everyone who is living now. he is doing great, and luffy understands exactly what the people need that only momo can give. it's funny. luffy doesn't wanna be a hero, but he understands super well what makes a hero.
8. whenever zoro fights, i lose all my principles and morals (second to seeing law hung up in chains, oh my god)
9. i love kappa so much
10. i've always wondered: when zoro slices the cannonballs, why do they not explode on the impact? gun shells, i get why they're 'easily' sliced, because they don't explode at contact, they just rip through flesh because of the speed (unless the ones who explode into shrapnels with contact), but cannon balls carry gunpowder within them, no?
I love the new characters and the reveal about how Orochi is using the Smiles is really depressing. But I do hope that the meeting of Big Mom and Kaido will lead to something amazing as we are finally getting hints about their past.
The Nine Red Scabbards get their moment to shine - pose as a team, cut down some fodder, before Luffy ends up saving the day anyway. There's just so much going on now, so many new characters being introduced and established, that they don't get to have much more than that. There's simply no time. Kawamatsu and Ashura get a bit more towards the end, but even then, I think this is the last meaningful part either of them get to play.
It's all much too big. Wano should have been twice the length it ended up being to get everything done properly, or else Oda should have just mercilessly trimmed the fat - ditch the yakuza bosses and at least half the Scabbards - to move the plot on better. And judging by future events, he does seem to have learned that lesson: at the time of this writing the Egghead Arc has been tight indeed.
On the bright side, amnesiac Big Mom got a couple chuckles.
In this comic, you can clearly see how One Piece is living one of the best moments of its story. The draws are remarkably good, the plot is just unconceivable.

In Udon, Kidd was caught again along with Kamazo the Manslayer. Kamazo the Manslayer is indeed Kidd's partner, Killer who was forced to eat Smile fruit. Big Mom arrived at Udon prison and wants the ushiruko. Queen changed into Brachiosaurus (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Brachiosaurus) to fight Big Mom but he is easily defeated.

+3 “ONE DAY, HE WILL BE SHOGUN OF WANO. THOSE WHO SERVE AND SUPPORT HIM…MUST BE THE GREATEST SAMURAI OF THE LAND ! NOT ONLY YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR LIEGE, YOU WILL DO THE SAME FOR THE CAPITAL…AND EVENTUALLY ALL OF WANO.”
The last time I watched One Piece (Wano) was before the pandemic, which feels like a decade ago. Out of the blue on a quiet Friday morning, I felt the urge to pick up where I left off in the arc, so I did.
Did I need to watch a fan-made summary so I can refresh my memory and follow along with the storyline? Definitely. It didn’t help my memory much, unfortunately. Nonetheless, I had fun. I still struggle to recall all the details, but I ain’t dedicating my life to reread the entire arc. I will figure things out along the way.
Since I caught up with the anime today and was a complete cliff hanger, I saw it absolutley necessary to start the manga and man, was the one of the best choices I've made. This had everything, suspense, heartbreak, treason, twists. I just can't get over some things that happened, Wano act two is done, now to go on to raid day. The hype is through the roof.
At 90+ volumes it’s impossible for the narrative to not start feeling a bit bloated. But even with all the plots and subplots happening in Wano (and one piece in general), it’s still maintaining an even spread of focus on all the characters.
Anyway, a kappa guy got introduced and he’s very cool.
You will always get me with a fox. 5 stars, easy. And I swear, if ANYTHING happens to this fox that just appeared for one chapter, I will start an uprising. Just saying.🦊🦊
Even though I enjoyed this volume, sometimes is hard to follow what’s happening because of the amount of plots. Furthermore, the antagonists in this arc are very good!! They’re so despicable that is very easy to be happy with any win conquered by straw hats and companions.
this is my late dad's legendary sword he left it to me but you rizzed me up mister green hair so pls take it and slice that dragon with it then marry me when one piece is over
