Joining the MC had never been a question.Raised by an ex-cage-fighting member, Niro hadn’t seen any future for himself that didn’t involve bikes, guns, violence, and the brotherhood he’d learned to revere above all else. But joining the Henchmen meant he couldn’t have the only other thing in life he wanted.Andi.The daughter of one of the OG members of the club. His childhood best friend. The only chink in his otherwise impenetrable armor. For years she was gone. And he did everything he could to forget her, to become the kind of monster she would never look twice at again. The problem was, she was back in town. ღ I’m a bit late to the party catching up on The next generation Henchmen in what has become one of my favorite series’ from Jessica Gadziala so far…. Than of course I’ve read her other new series… Lol
Wow I can’t believe, The next generation Henchmen are here…With Niro (Pagan's son) and Andi (Reeve's daughter)
I can’t lie, I somewhat hesitated on reading this book. come-on like anyone in their right mind I was afraid that any spinoffs would fall short, but fear not JG did amazing job
Several years ago Andi head off to the big city to go to college to become veterinarian .. Andi, was just like her mama, she loved all things animal
Andi really tried to follow her dreams. Unfortunately, that didn't go the way she hoped. Andi had sadly realized that she wasn’t cut out for being a Vet. All those years of her life slaving away at school were a waste of time and resources, or so she thought
Andi bowed her head & packed up her apartment & headed back to Navesink Bank where she belonged
Niro, has been in love with Andi since he was like two years old. And it showed no signs of stopping.
He had lifetime of love for Andi who only ever saw him as a friend. The fact that he needed to turn himself into another person just to ease the hopelessness of it.
He came when she called. And he pretended it didn't gut him when she stopped calling so much.
So, he spent the last several years forcing any feelings he had toward her away, beating them down, forcing them so deep that they didn't have any chance of coming up to the surface again. Niro turns into hard asshole to save himself for getting hurt, in the process he also pushes a lot of his friends and family member away by doing so
For the longest of time Niro, could work his frustration and stress out in the ring…….. but at late even that hasn’t been working
I think the only true issue, I had with this book was … how I couldn’t believe how oblivious Andi was to Niro’s feelings …Overall, you know that JG will give us complex characters, fantastic back stories & she’ll give a exciting & truly satisfying
I loved this so much. It was so sweet and cute and had such a wholesome vibe.
It was an amazing start to the Henchmen MC Next Generation. Niro and Andi were absolutely perfect together.
I’m also excited about all the other next gen. kids getting their own books and how the universe expands with new players setting up shop in Navesink Bank.
The new MC that settled in town with their female prez, the new cartel and its enigmatic leader, yeah I’m so into this new era.
Niro is book one in the Henchmen MC: Next Generation series by Jessica Gadziala. I’ve read a few of Jessica’s books in the past and always love them. I’ve had this series on my to read list forever. I finally decided that now is the time and I loved it! Not only did I love the book, even more, I loved the epilogues! Yes, that is plural. We get such a wonderful look into the future of these two and it left me feeling so warm and fuzzy.
Niro and Andi are both the children of the Henchmen Motorcycle Club. They have been best friends pretty much since they were in diapers. Some children of the club grow up tough from the world they live in. But not Andi. She has always been soft and sweet. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. And has a deep love for every animal. Which is why she wants to be a veterinarian. Niro has been in love with her all his life while Andi just thinks of him as her best friend. So he keeps his feelings hidden, knowing that some day, he would have to let her go.
That day came when Andi went off to college and started to have a life of her own and relationships. Niro knew she deserved so much more than anything he could ever give her. So he did what he could to distance himself from her. He became something dark and dangerous. But then she came back. He is still determined to stay away from her but in a city filled with every type of danger there is, it didn’t take long for it to find her. And that’s when Niro knew that staying away from her was never going to work. Because his feelings for her would never go away. And maybe, just maybe, she could feel more for him too.
This really was so good. I have not read the first series that this came from which focuses on the older generation, the parents of the main characters of this series. And it was fine. Each book in the series will be about a different couple but it seems that there is an ongoing danger that the club will have to deal with throughout. Book two will focus on Malcolm, the quiet one. I can’t wait to read his story.
Niro has been secretly in love with his best friend Andi since they were kids, but after Andi leaves home to go to college and start her life (dating other men), Niro decides to let her go for real. Niro cuts all ties to Andi, because he knows that's his only self preservation.
Andi was a little sweetheart who is crushed when her career dreams fall apart, and she comes home to her family while she tries to regroup and figure out where her future is going to lead her. Andi is completely heartbroken when she realizes she's truly lost her best friend that she's always counted on, and she doesn't know exactly how it happened, or how to get out of this awkwardness between the two.
This story was so good!! I loved all the angsty feels brought up between Andi and Niro, but I also enjoyed the action part of this story too. It was fun getting introduced to all of the next generation Kiddos of the Henchmen clan (all grown up) in this story. So excited for the future stories of this new generation!
Joining the MC had never been a question. Raised by an ex-cage-fighting member, Niro hadn’t seen any future for himself that didn’t involve bikes, guns, violence, and the brotherhood he’d learned to revere above all else. But joining the Henchmen meant he couldn’t have the only other thing in life he wanted. Andi. The daughter of one of the OG members of the club. His childhood best friend. The only chink in his otherwise impenetrable armor. For years she was gone. And he did everything he could to forget her, to become the kind of monster she would never look twice at again. The problem was, she was back in town. And new enemies were around every corner. Ones who might set their sights on the only woman who could ever mean anything to him…
So many times in romance books, you find ones where the h has been secretly crushing on the H for so many years, while he is blind to this. I loved reading a story where it is the opposite for a change! The big, strong Niro has been crushing on Andi since they were very, very young! Always looking out for her and taking care of her. Being the best friend. I loved how we got a glimpse into this, and the story of how they found their way to each other was just AWESOME! Niro, despite being a big, strong fighter with a lot of cold and dark in him, is also incredibly romantic. The suspense, mystery and angst in this was perfect too - letting us get a glimpse into the other MC we saw in the last book that has moved into Navesink Bank, and now the new array of characters that are cropping up with all of that.
My favorite part is that this is MANY books into the series, and yet the stories are all so different and feel so fresh. I love that Jessica has the ability to weave in older characters from previous books in a way where you get a glimpse but don't feel overwhelmed by them. And it's written so well - that even if you are brand new to this series, you should have no problem picking this up and following along!
And I’m back. I finished the Henchmen (original series) and then I had to read The Rise of Ferryn. Then I took a break. While I enjoyed the books I was kinda MC’d out. But now I’m back and I loved this one.
Niro has been in love with Andi his entire life. But he let her go. It was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do and in order to do it he had to change. He became colder and harder. A monster Andi would never want. But now she’s back in Navesink Bank.
This was a lovely story and it’s straight onto Malcolm for me now.
Niro is book #1 in the Henchmen MC: Next Generation! I was really excited to start this one, especially after my binge read of the Henchmen series. I have got to say that I wasn't disappointed in the least. I think Jessica did an amazing job of passing over the torch to the grown up children of our favorite MC group!! I found this new series to have been given new life in the Navesink Bank world. I loved that there is now a new "enemy" that has come to town, and I am sure he will be bringing a host of new problems for the club to deal with. I will admit though, even though he is an enemy, I am certainly intrigued by him, and could see him eventually being a dark hero for somebody!!!
As far as Niro and his kind hearted woman go...their story was sweet. They were childhood friends, and eventually their innocent love grew into something way more. I found them to have a special connection, but it was soft kind of love, considering how sensitive his woman is. I prefer some darker and grittier romance; but for the first book...I did definitely enjoy it!
Unfortunately, I now have to wait for a second book to come out..I am glad that I have a ton of Jessica's other series to keep me busy while I wait!!! I will absolutely be reading the second installment as soon as it comes to be!!!
Now I need to control my crazy thoughts so I don't spill all the secrets!!!.
Jessica is one hell of a writer, period. Every book is just wholesome as fuck, even if it normally wouldn't be something I love.. she makes me love it because she writes in a way that draws me into and has me so completely invested in the characters.
Niro and Andi's story starts off as this bittersweet affair of bad communication and avoidance. It's actually pretty heartbreaking to read about this beautiful friendship crumbling into nothing but longing, dread and cluelessness. But it also showcases the very real effects of miscommunication. Even between at one point the best of friends.
Niro is just angry at life. In order to deal with such anger he fights... like father like son ay. What I loved the absolute most about his character is just how transparent he was about his feelings for Andi. He never even tried to hide it. The only mistake he made was not actually telling her. His character has so many layers I was left speechless. His thoughtfulness and attention to detail beats all the other guys outta park for sure. The way he handles Andi with the upmost care and always makes how she feels his first priority.... SWOON. Honestly by the end I was just a whole fan of Niro. He's prickly and at times frustrating but lord is he worth it all because the man is all kinds of soft and sweet at the centre.
Andi is a delicate flower. Normally her kind of character would rub me the wrong way because surly no one can be that oblivious, or that damn sensitive right?. But she is and the way Jessie writes her just made me fall in love with Andi. She's like the finest china, beautiful but so easily broken by the world around her. I found myself just wanting to wrap her up and keep her safe. She balanced out Niro harshness with her sweet self in a way no one else could. Her need to be liked, to express herself and to save everything and anyone is so endearing. She's charming. But there is a little grit in there deep down. She will never be one of the mouthier boss bitch Henchmen ladies but she adds an innocence to all the dark that really does balance the crazy out and make room for some calm.
Their journey isn't your typical friends to lovers romance. I never thought I'd be thankful for bad things to happen but in their case I was because it gave them the push that was so badly needed. Their journey is frustrating and at times just heartbreaking to read on both parts because although they were definitely not on the same page... they hurt and felt the loss equally. I just adore them together. It's like the most perfect combination of sweet and salty if ever there was one. I loved that the friendship they had only intensified the connection between them making it all the more believable and nothing at all seemed rushed because they already had that solid history. The chemistry is explosive in the best ways and I honestly couldn't imagine them not being together. I could feel their need through the pages. The love. The hurt.... every emotion, it's so raw and palpable I wasn't ready for the rollercoaster.
Side characters are always huge parts of the greatness in Jessie's books and she most certainly doesn't disappoint with her wide variety of personalities. Lord have mercy but I want them all. All the stories. Even the 'bad guys'. Why does she temp me with all the sin!!!.
Arhhh. I just loved Niro and Andi. Their story is heartbreaking, frustrating, tension filled and so freaking sweet. I laughed at all the characters and their crazy outrageous personalities. I loved all the banter, bickering and ridiculous shenanigans between everyone. The story flows seamlessly from one page to the next with so much character depth and a plot that keeps you guessing. Is it her most action packed book?.. no but is it equally as great?.. absolutely. There was never a moment I felt bored or that the story felt like it was missing something. It was just perfectly them.
Ohhh and the epilogue!!!!!. Man she got me crying like the hormonal bitch I am today. The freaking thought put into that literally took my breath away. Man I want me a Niro. He just beats every book boyfriend that ever existed with what he managed to pull out of the bag.
And the questions I have about certain characters.... Jessica.... you know who!!!!!. Why you gotta tease me like that...
Wow this first in the Next Generation series looks to be ramping up the mayhem again in Navesink Bank. Bring it on..
Niro (Pagan's son) and Andi (Reeve's daughter) were inseparable since they were little. Things changed though when Andi went off to college. Niro trying to play the hero finally let Andi go so she could live her life and not be stuck with a man whose life is all about the MC. Without the calmness Andi brought to his life he decides to go his Dad's route of releasing his anger and frustrations with underground fighting. Heart iced over and fist doing his talking he is not the man
When things don't work out with Andi's first job at a vet's office due to her being too sensitive she decides to return back home to her family and friends and hopes to reconnect again with Niro. But what she finds isn't the man she grew up with and loved. This was a man with a heart of ice who prefers letting his fist do the talking in the ring and wants nothing to do with her.
There were so many things I loved about this book.. Jax (Ross Ward's son) now runs the underground fighting ring (with supervision from his father) and boy does he do a no no.. I am beyond fascinated with the rival MC with a female president. That is going to be one crazy book when the author writes it. I could go on and on of more things but will stop.. Another fabulous entrée in Jessica's world..
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had been having serious withdrawal pangs with no new Henchmen action for a little while, and the always amazing Jessica Gadziala answered my prayers. Sometimes, next generations can be diluted, faded offspring of the originals, but this new generation proves to be just as as quirky, headstrong, wily, generous and loving as the originals.
Best friends as kids through to young adulthood, Andi and Niro have been as close as platonic friends can be. The pair relied on each other for everything, providing entertainment, support and a listening ear for every big and little thing that happens in their lives. Except for the one thing that Niro never disclosed to Andi - that he has been in love with her for years and years, but never thought that a hard boy like him would ever deserve soft-hearted Andi. He knows he has to let her go and resolved to cover his unrequited feelings with hardness, becoming the best cage fighter around like his Dad.
When Andi returns home after a failed stint as a veterinarian in NYC, the pair need to navigate their new normal. But normal in Navesink Bank is never what you expect!
Thoroughly enjoyable new series - can't wait for the next installment!
Niro and Andi are the perfect couple to get the new generation henchmen going. He is tough, and hardened. And she is a sweet and shy animal lover. He is protective and tries to make sure she is safe at all times. There is a new crew in town causing problems, and I think A, the head of the crew is going to give the Henchmen some interesting stories going forward. This was a perfect start to show the new generation. I can’t wait to get more!
NIRO is a true love story with maybe just an edge or two. This time out, Jessica Gadziala showcases even more depth, more emotion and a feeling of realness and rightness that displays just how this author has grown.
If you liked the Henchmen series, were afraid that any spinoffs would fall short, fear no more! The kids who grew up in the club, were fiercely protected by their MC family are now the Next Generation, still under the guidance and wings of the club, but ready to carry on their legacy of toughness and that anti-hero vibe.
The icing on the cake? Niro and Andi grew up together, were best friends and grew apart when she went away. Now she’s back and the gut-wrenching torment begins! Will these two find their own HEA?
A fresh new series where love and war, happiness and danger meet head on!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala! This is my honest and voluntary review.
I started the book being a little angry with both Andi and Niro to be honest, that they treated each other in a way that allowed what was so special to just not be anymore, and by chapter five I was in tears over Niro's treatment of Andi as they went forward.
Jessica Gadziala never breaks your heart unless she's going to give you all the good stuff later! A bad guy, I don't quite hate yet, multiple meet-cutes between Danny and Fallon (I swear can we PLEASE have them together NOW?) and multiple conversations with Billie, Hope, Malc, and Finn that made me look forward to every single next gen Henchman and all the side characters for years to come!!
On top of all the Henchmen love, JG gives out one of the best epilogues I've ever read, in Niro!! It's so good, so sweet, so many happy tears for that part of this book, all the wonderful feels in the world from beginning to end!
Niro is worth a full TEN STARS if I could hand them out that way, just WOW! I love the full range of emotions from hate to love, anger to happiness, there is so much in this book - you ABSOLUTELY NEED to read it NOW!! Excellent job Ms. Gadziala, I can't WAIT for the next one!✨🖤
My first thought after reading this book was that I would be very happy if I could read Jessica's books every day. She writes the best romances with the right amount of drama, humor, suspense and romantic. Her writing style is amazing and extremely addictive 🥰🥰🥰
The Henchmen MC is my favorite series by Jessica. And this book is the first story about the next generation of the MC. In fact, they are both the children of the old brothers.
Andi and Niro were inseparable since childhood. Their relationship was more than just best friends. They trusted each other and could talk about anything and everything. Niro was Andi's confidant, a shoulder to cry on, her go-to person. Andi was for Niro the one he couldn't have (what she didn't know). Their paths only separated when Andi went to college and for some reason her friendship with Niro stopped...
After over six years later Andi is back in her hometown and tries to find her oldest and dearest friend. Only the old Niro, her Niro doesn't exist anymore. Now, he's a dark and tough MC outlaw biker with a thing for violence and fighting.
This book is so damn good. I love the topic, the story and characters. It's full of anxious energy, excitement and action. The mix between MC outlaw life, the danger of other criminal organizations in this town and Andi's gentle vet life makes the story even more interesting.
The amazing page-turner gives you all the sweet, swoony and romantic feelings with a lot of humor, dry sarcasm and dramatic events.
It's a friends to lovers, opposite attract romance with an epic HEA. 𝘼 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙈𝘾 𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 ❤
New Year, New Jessica. Hello 2021! We get our first book from The Henchmen Next Generation!
Niro was such a big sweet guy who really fell hard for Andi from the beginning. After loving her from a far for such along time that he had to shut it down. Harden himself.
Andi really tried to follow hers dreams. Unfortunately that didn't go the way she hoped.
I really loved the angst of these two characters as they found there way back. A wonderful start to the new generation!!
Niro is the first book in the Henchmen MC Next Generation series, by Jessica Gadziala. I've been waiting for Jessica to write these books and wondering how she would go about it. She starts the next gen off with Niro.
Niro has been in love with Andi since they were both kids but he knows he’s not good enough and her father would never approve. That doesn't mean he can't be her friend and be there for her when she needs him. It get harder and harder with every year. When she head off to college he knows he needs to let her get on with her life, so he cuts ties.
Andi decides that a big city job in a Vet clinic is not for her so ends up moving home after college and facing her feelings is something she is forced into by her friends.
This has all the angst and feels that you learn to expect from Jessica's books as a long time reader. She can do no wrong and this book is just another fantastic read from her. The secondary Characters as always are a dream and leave me wanting more in the future. Highly recommend reading this book.
I'll be honest ( don't judge me ) I wasn't sure about The Next Generation books... mostly because the OG books are some of my absolute favorites and sometimes next gen books end up being kinda meh... BUT I should have know better because in true Jessica Gadziala fashion she has once again created the next round of amazingness in my favorite fictional town ❤
Andi and Niro GAH! These two!!! I did NOT expect so much angsty goodness, they will break your heart and put it back together piece by beautiful piece. A lifelong connection from friendship to so much more! I honestly couldn't put this book down. Throw in the breadcrumbs that JG threw us about new big bads etc and I am SO excited for what's to come!
Amazing. This series is going to be hot and full of drama!! Andi and Niro have been friends forever their ride was not a simple straight line. The turns and curves that came there way made them see how much more they could be together as more than friends. Epilogue was amazing!!!!!
Ohhhh my heart! I have loved the Henchmen from the beginning. I devour everything Jessica writes but there will always be a special place in my heart for the Henchmen. Book 1 of the next generation is Niro (Pagan's son) and Andi (Reeve's daughter). They have been best friends their entire lives but slowly drift apart as she goes to college to become a vet and he prospects to become a patched member. Niro knows that the MC life isn't for Andi and that he must let her go and the pain of it hardens and numbs him for years. My heart broke before the prologue even ended! The friendship of these two and what happened to it over the years was heartbreaking! Andi finds her way home after years away and Niro isn't the man she remembers. It's hard to review without giving away any plot but Andi is put in some trouble and it's that trouble that finally makes Niro and Andi open up to each other. The epilogue of this book is one of the best things I have read in awhile. I was literally crying happy tears! I can't wait for the next book already and the writing of Niro reminded me so much of the beginning of the original Henchmen series. I loved this book and it is a definite 5 star must read!
This was book 1 in the "Henchmen MC Next Generation". Niro and Andi were childhood friends until she went off to college to become a vet and he prospects to become a patched member. Niro knows that the MC life isn't for Andi and that he must let her go and the pain of it hardens and numbs him for years. When nothing is going right in her life she goes home. This was a pretty good read with a lot going on. I liked both of these characters Andi is sweet with a heart of gold although she cries a lot she's a vet that cries when she can't save a sick animal. When trouble starts these two finally face their feelings for one another. This was a hot friends to lovers read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
The first in Gadziala’s next generation Henchman series was a delight to read. Whether you are a long term Henchman fan or jumping in for the first time, there is a lot to enjoy in Niro and Andi’s HEA.
Niro (Pagan and Kennedy’s son) has loved Andi (Reeve and Rey’s daughter) since childhood. He has known for nearly as long that her sensitivity, goodness, big heart, joy and softness is not a fit for Niro’s world of 1%ers, fights, danger and darkness. Until she leaves for college and Niro patches in he’s remained her best friend and ignored both his feelings for her and the reality of needing to let her go, holding on instead to the sunshine and light she brings to his darkness. Once she leaves town he knows he needs to let go of even her friendship so she can find a life with someone good for her and he does not have to be a bystander watching it happen and wishing it was him. When she's gone from his life, all the light leaves with her, leaving Niro to fighting, drinking and women as the only outlet for his pain as he gives into the cold, hard, darkness inside.
For Andi, Niro was her best friend, her rock, the person she always turned to. For her, he was always kind, warm, smiled and laughed even if he was only like that with her. She does not understand what happened over the course of college and veterinary school to their friendship. When she returns home to Navesink Bank hoping to have her best friend again in her life, she instead finds a different, harder, colder Niro, one that seems to want nothing to do with Andi.
With several of the younger gen Henchman family conniving to get these two to realize what everyone’s always known, that they are fated to be together, and when Andi gets caught up with the new criminal crew in town, Niro can’t continue to ignore Andi or how much he loves her.
There is a lot to adore about this novel: • Andi and Niro are a wonderful opposites attract happily ever after, • A dark H who is more than the cold SOB he appears • A warm, kind h who wears her emotions on her sleeve but is more than just the naïve girl everyone seems to think she is, • The introduction of the next gen Henchman crew, • New rivals and agitators who may or may not be good guys and gals, • Jax Ward (Ross Ward’s son), • And as always an epic epilogue.
I did wish there was more to Niro’s and Andi’s story, a little more insight into all the secondary characters, a lot more depth and time and just more development in the story. But overall leaving me wanting more is not a bad problem for a book to have.
And I cannot wait to see what happens next and for more of the Henchmen next generation to find their HEA.
I was given an ARC; this is my unbiased review of the novel.
One of the those stories that started with making me sad and weepy but ended with me smiling. Niro & Andi are a couple that you cannot help but love and root for. This book makes me believe that the next generation in NSB are going to have no choice but to get their shit together and mentally grow up.
4.5 I really like this one and flew through it. I usually don’t like the next generation series because I don’t like to think of their parents as old (crazy I know haha) but this one worked for me. I’m excited to read about some of the other kids too
I have adored Jessica Gadziala's Henchmen books for a long time, and I have been so looking forward to seeing what some of the kids are getting up to. The fact that Niro is up first is just a bonus. Is there anything better than a broody biker who loves a woman he thinks he doesn't deserve? No, there is not. Niro's love for Andi is so pure, and he honestly just wants what's best for her. The problem is, he doesn't think it's him. This book is full of twists and outside drama that brings these two together in the best way. And this might be the best epilogue that Jessica has ever written. Men, you have a long way to go if you expect to live up to the bar that Niro has set.
*disclaimer: I did receive a copy in exchange for an honest review.. here we go!!
If you’ve read the Henchmen, you knew this was coming.. I didn’t expect the angst at the start of the book, and it made me wanna stab someone.. however, there is a phenomenal resolution. I loved the side characters & I hope some of them get a series (cough, A, cough, T, cough)
