She will risk everything to rescue her friend.

Frankie’s BFF and four-year-old son are trapped inside a fanatical militia’s compound. In Alaska, no less. Wilderness rescues are so not in the New Yorker’s skill set. But she’ll figure it out. She must.

Bull’s new roadhouse server is a mass of contradictions.

The city girl’s reasons for being in Alaska don’t add up. Bull’s been burned by liars before. So, why is he falling for this crap again? Maybe it’s her big brown eyes, exuberant personality—or her generous, compassionate heart. Whatever the reason is, he cares. If she’s in trouble, he’ll do his damnedest to get her out.

The huge Alaskan is terrifyingly compelling--and heartwarmingly concerned for her.

But Frankie refuses to involve Bull in the deadly mess. Her plan to rescue her bestie will work without anyone getting hurt. As she tries her best not to fall in love, she doggedly acquires each skill she’ll need.

Getting shot, though…that hadn’t been on her to-do list.

A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she’s renowned for writing heart-wrenching romances with laugh-out-loud dialogue, alpha males, and absolutely sizzling sex.

I met my dearheart when vacationing in the Caribbean. Now I won’t say it was love at first sight. Actually since he stood over me, enjoying the view down my swimsuit top, I might have been a tad peeved—as well as attracted. But although we were together less than two days and lived on opposite sides of the country, love can’t be corralled by time or space.

We’ve now been married for many, many years. (And he still looks down my swimsuit tops.)

Nowadays, I live in the west with this obnoxious, beloved husband and a seventy-pound lap-puppy. I’m a gardener, and I love nurturing small plants until they’re big and healthy and productive…and ripping defenseless weeds out by the roots when I’m angry. I enjoy thunderstorms, collecting eggs from the chickens, and visiting the local brewery for the darkest, maltiest beer on tap. My favorite way to spend an evening is curled up on a couch next to the master of my heart, watching the fire, reading, and…well…if you’re reading my books, you obviously know what else happens in front of fires.

Things I’ve noticed about this author on my reread of this series:

1. She loves to use the rescuing of a stray animal as a plot device. Honestly, get a new hook.

2. She really hates or has extreme unresolved jealousy issues with pretty women. They are frequently used as villains, conflict and belittled in her books. Seek therapy and get over this, it’s internalized misogyny.

3. She loves to write a POC with an accent, but always makes sure they are half white. Not sure why these characters are American born but have accents but she loves it.

4. Ow drama is always, always, always present.

5. Her covers are shit. They are badly photoshopped and the models are always weird looking with bad haircuts. This guy is bald but he’s an obvious poor man’s Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who she frequently compares him to.

6. She uses the words ‘simply’, ‘nibble’ and ‘testicles’ too often. Testicles wasn’t used in this one but it bears repeating from the last book, I’m still traumatized by its use twice in a sex scene preceded by the word ‘heavy’.

Sometimes you can like an author but wind up reading too much from them and then all the rinse and repeat plotting becomes annoying. I’m leaving this at four star because I only really skim read this but it’s honestly just a three star read. But the research was really well done and the writing flows well. She has talent honestly but I need her to stop with the copy paste, formula shit. This book and book two are so very similar they almost both don’t need to exist. You’ll see that this review is identical to my review for book two. Just taking a page out of your book Cherise (pun intended).

This book was everything culminating. Found family is firmly found. Pets, kids, and lost souls included. My heart is so full.

Bull and Frankie were so sweet. Not as steamy as I wanted but I didn't even care.

Miss Sinclair's books are always ny go to if I want somethibg sexy, hot and light. What You See is just that. It is OK read.
I want more sexy steamy dirty scenes. But I got lukewarm sexy times with a lot of insta lust. Lack of chemistry.

The susepense does not help to eliviate the story plot. I found it is unbelievable how bunch of guys and a girl can raid a religion compound without so much resistence.

Overall I do enjoy the book/ story. It is still OK read to pass weekend.

The third book in Cherise Sinclair’s captivating Sons of the Survivalist series is the story of a young woman who comes to Alaska to save her best friend and her son from the grips of a fanatical militia group, only to end up falling in love with a protective, Alaskan mountain of man who shows her everything that has been missing in her life thus far. Cherise Sinclair is a master of characterization, her intense attention to detail bringing her characters to life in a way that they always feel authentic, believable, and easy to relate to. Romantic, suspenseful, and richly atmospheric, this book swept me off my feet, and I missed it the moment I finished reading it.

It’s always a immense pleasure to visit Rescue,Alaska.
Because that’s where Mako’s sons live, and those men are to die for,só good!
They’re the kind of men i adore, strong, loyal, caring and with a good sense of humor.
Even though they sometimes have trouble dealing with their past.

Gabe and Caz already found the perfect woman, and now Bull is finding his other half, too. Frankie is an Italian girl, born and raised in New York.
She loves her family, but feels like they rule her life. Especially since she’s working in the family business, and has to solve every little problem every member of her family has.
Getting very little in return, even at the times she needs it most.

But when her bestie Kit sends her a desperate plea for help, she doesn’t have to think twice.
She tells her mother she’s taking a vacation and leaves for Rescue,Alaska.
Realizing she needs to find out more about the Patriot Zealots, she decides to find a job and settle in.
Luck has it,Bull’s Roadhouse is hiring, and the male Zealots come there regularly.

That bartender,Bull though....hearing him treat his girl badly makes her angry, she knows exactly how that feels!
Until she finds out she has it all wrong....and the more she gets to know the man,the more he becomes far too irresistible for her.
Giving in,temporarily mind you, proves her point. She is in way over her head! Let alone her heart....

Focus,girl! You’re here on a mission!
Get Kit and her little boy Aric to safety!
Do your best to learn whatever you need to get the job done!
But the more she finds out as she does her research, the more impossible it seems she’ll succeed on her own.
She isn’t ready to risk the lives of others, but it’s starting to look like she won’t have a choice.....

Bull is a patient man. He knows Frankie has been hurt before, and has trouble trusting others.
But she can trust him.
And he’s there for her, every time there’s trouble. Because he really likes her, scratch that,he loves her. She is unlike any woman he’s ever met.
So different from his cheating ex.
And he and his family protect the ones they love.
So when things get really bad, they show her what that means.

I LOVE Mako’s sons! Bull’s and Frankie’s story was such a joy to read, and i was sad it ended even though i’m very happy for them.
Because i would’ve loved to stay a little longer.
But there’s one son that still needs someone....Hawk.
I would love to be the one, only it looks like there might be someone else.....sigh....

I adore all things Cherise. Her books are an auto buy for me always. And while I live for her emotionally charged BDSM, her suspenseful contemporary has been hitting the spot quite nicely for me.

I can't say that I loved this book, but I did like it quite a bit. What I love is Sinclair's ability to create these imperfect characters that have an amazing balance of flaws and inner strength. Bull is a bit of manwhore, and he has multiple failed marriages behind him that don't exactly make him eager to try anything serious again. He's definitely got some trust issues, but you can't blame the man, knowing what he's been through.

Frankie is a fierce heroine that puts her life on hold to help out her best friend who may be in a life threatening situation. Her friend and her son are stuck in an abusive relationship and Frankie may be their only hope and she pleads for her help. Frankie blows into the small town looking for answers but gets more than she expected when she meets Bull.

These two don't get off to a good start and there's definitely some false impressions that take place because of both of their histories. Frankie has trust issues because of her failed marriage and cheating husband. She thinks Bull is no better than her ex, until she gets to know him and sees the gentle heart beneath the smoldering and rough exterior.

There's an added element of suspense with the story of Frankie's bestie and her rescue from the Patriot Zealots. There's also some additional voices that are added in (like one of my most anticipated characters, Hawk). What I love is how effortlessly these all blend together in the story. And while I loved the romance and suspense, I was also a little bored. There was just this zing that missing for me here. And I can't place my finger on what it was exactly, only that this story didn't really grab me. It's not one that I'll be thinking of later or coming back to. It was good, but it just wasn't my favorite. Do I recommend this series? Absolutely. Will I be reading the next one? OMG. Without a doubt. The set up is AMAZING.

This book is everything! Suspense, humor, love, heat, and so much more. The world that Ms Sinclair has created just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love the H/h pairing. Bull and Frankie are absolutely perfect for each other. Frankie is under appreciated by her family but doesn’t truly realize it until she arrives in Rescue. She is a sassy little spitfire and exactly what Bull needs to keep him on his toes and she fits in perfectly with the family. I love her drive to succeed and her loyalty to those that she loves. Bull was his usually joyful, fun, and happy self except you do get a bit of a glimpse into his psyche and you begin to understand him a bit more. He is such a huge teddy bear who with do anything for those he claims as his. Even get in the middle of a family situation in the most spectacular way. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat, the sexy times are hot, and the sense of family and love in the small town will melt your heart. Oh and the way Ms Sinclair set up Hawk’s book is nothing short of brilliant.

This is an amazing read that I highly recommend.

I enjoyed this book. Bull and Frankie were likable and relatable. I usually get sympathetic anxiety when I read books about people who leave their homes and families and lives, but the author was able to show (not tell) that this was not a sacrifice for the h.
I liked the love story as well as the suspense portion of the book. I liked that she was able to incorporate the previous MCs into the current story without taking away from it. There are quite a few authors who should take some lessons in the art of that.
And, while I did enjoy the book, the cheesiness from the previous books did not stop with this one. Also, as an Italian- American from NYC who also lived in Italy and speaks Italian, something about the use of Italian in the book was off. Not sure what it was, but it didn't feel genuine.

There's a reason Cherise Sinclair is one of my idols - she always captivates me and leaves me turning the pages frantically to find out what happens next. I loved getting to see Bull's squishy side and him finally getting the kind of woman he needs in Frankie. Frankie is a fantastic heroine - strong, generous, and maybe a little too giving. She's the kind of best friend every woman wishes for and reading her story was an absolute joy.

Of course, now I'm waiting on pins and needles for Hawk and Kirsten! *bounce*bounce*bounce*

What do you get when you mix a New Yorker, fanatical militants and a Bull in the Alaskan wilderness? One heck of a story.

The running plot of the Patriot Zealots comes front and center when Frankie Borcelli gets a message that her best friend and her young son are being held inside the cult compound and she fears for both their lives. Frankie waste no time in leaving NY for Alaska to find a way to rescue her friend and her godson.

Rescue Alaska is where Bull Peleki and his 3 “brothers” were raised by their adopted father Mako. His last wish was for them to revive the town. Bull owns many businesses and takes care of the financial aspects for his brothers. After seven years in the military leaving him with PTSD and 2 disastrous marriages he is cynical on relationships but after two of his brothers recently finding their loves the thoughts of finding a forever woman are on his mind. His new waitress at the roadhouse he own intrigues him but she wants nothing to do with him.
Frankie knows she in over her head but she is determined to find out all she can about the Patriot Zealots so she can rescue her friends. She knows they frequent the roadhouse and hopes that by getting a job their she can learn what she needs to know. But its not long before she is in over her hear and leans on Bull – still not coming clean about her real reason for being there. She comes to learn what a real family and friends are while in the town and their help is needed with the rescue of the women and children at the compound.

I love these brothers and all the townsfolk of Rescue. This series is a mix of suspense, romance with tons of emotional issues. Looking forward to Hawk's story next.

WHAT YOU SEE is the third book in Cherise Sinclair’s Sons of the Survivalist series. So this is Bull’s book and honestly, I wasn’t sure that he’s my favorite of the series. I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series so far, so I didn’t really have super high expectations of Bull based on what we know of him in the past books. But I was surprised to see myself enjoying his character a bit more.

The same goes with Frankie. There’s quite a bit of action and suspense with tons of emotions, which I think is Sinclair’s specialty. I always enjoy that about her books. She never fails to give her characters an interesting backstory and personal conflict and it’s always nice to see how they are able to overcome it throughout the course of the book.

If you’re new to this series, you can expect a lot of focus on the characters. This has always been my preferred style, so I think that’s why I always gravitate to Sinclair’s writing. Not only can she write sexy books, but they have a lot of depth to them as well.

I enjoyed the premise of this series and that is exactly why I started the series. But here there is just another case of where the heroine drove me absolutely bonkers. Another one who did stupid shit.

Frankie got a letter that her bestie was trapped in a miltia up near Rescue, Alaska. The Patriot Zealots have been a thorn in the side of Rescue.

Bull is one of Mako's sons and has been tasked with his other brothers to bring Rescue back to life. He is unlucky in love and has been burnt two too many times. But when he sees Frankie he is intrigued and can't leave her alone.

Good story, plot and great characters but Frankie ruined it for me.

I hope Hawk gets teamed up with Kit.

And another winner coming up!

I will never be tired to say loud and clear that this author has an incredible talent to pull you into the story to the point you don’t want to stop reading to know what happens next.

It is pure joy to read this author.

In this book, some may be triggered by abusivement, conjugal and kids violence. That is heavy. Those are not about the heroine or heroes. Secondary characters. Still, it was, as usual, described tactfully and not gruesome.

The love story is totally realistic. It felt natural, not rushed like many other romances I read. Everything was fluid, normal, including the sex scenes which were integrated nicely at the right time. A bit tame for me but it went with the story, characters and plot.

The use of Italian was funny.

Book #4, the last son and brother should come next and yes, have a good idea who the heroes will be. In fact, I knew it from chapter one and can’t wait to read their story. And maybe, maybe, if we are lucky, we may have Doc Grayson too... hint hint

Cherise Sinclair is always a candy that I never want to finish.

WHAT YOU SEE IS A BOOK WORTHY OF A THOUSAND WORDS AND A THOUSAND PRAISES!

What You See is the third AMAZINGLY THRILLING book in Cherise Sinclair's Sons Of The Survivalist series and is Bull's story. And what a fantastic, compelling, and soul melting romance it was too! Bull and Frankie are a truly phenomenal team. Bull is a gorgeous giant of a hero with true kindness, sizzling sex appeal, heart melting protective instincts and is truly a one of a kind hero. And Frankie is the absolute BEST damn heroine Cherise Sinclair has introduced to us yet! She is strong, curvy perfection who happens to be wonderfully loyal, sassy, has a core of strength that is awe-inspiring and is a definite perfect fit for Bull. Bull and Frankie's romance put me in an unbelievable feel good happy place I truly haven't been to at all this year. Their story was full of suspense, action, danger, heart warming family moments and white hot sizzling chemistry. I am SO VERY happy with this book that it is almost impossible to contain it! I HIIIIIIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This gets a PHENOMENAL MUST GET ALL THE STARS IN THE SKY AND THEN SOME STARS!

These books are always so much fun to read, mostly because the guys are so dumb struck by the women, all of them never thought they would find someone that could deal with the amount of baggage they have. So when they do they aren't quite sure what to do and the women are all so strong that putting up with the men is nothing for them compared to what they get in return.

I loved that Frankie was all in to help her friend when she reached out for help. She didn't really give it a second thought, just dropped everything and did what she needed to. The whole town and it's people surprised Frankie, in a good way. I loved how much she fit in, even when she was hiding what she was really there for. That is my one pet peeve with the book, I wanted Frankie to reach out to Bull and the guys once she got to know them and ask for help. I get why she didn't, but it doesn't stop me from being irritated. I honestly thought she would when she knew the police had no ties to the PZ's, thought maybe she would when she was sort of caught by Bull. Instead it pushed them away, even when she sort of admitted to Bull, there was a wedge there. I think why I was so irritated was that Frankie and Bull were so great together otherwise and you could tell that Frankie would relish a chance to stay in AK.

Once Frankie did start to clue in the Brothers it was amazing how fast things moved. I loved how all the guys saw how serious Frankie was by the equipment she had, by her marking the trail and by wanting to help and doing what needed as the shit hit the fan. Things got a bit crazy for while, but they did what they needed to and saved so many people.

And as amazing as the take down was, it was nothing compared to the other take down, the one that was oh so civilized in the restaurant, one where Frankie's new family had her back while her blood family had their eyes forced open. I loved how each and every one of them was put in their place and forced to see Frankie for the spectacular woman she was!

I also find myself intrigued by Hawk's mini-me and wonder if there might be something there for him in the next book, or maybe that is just my hopeful thinking!

On a side note, once again I loved how Doc Grayson showed up to help. Sure the ones they recused needed it, but so did the family. His subtle ways go far in helping everyone see so much about themselves.

This one is the best of the series so far. Bull and Frankie dance around each other in clever ways, and have to stay on their toes. 75% of the story is about their growing to respect each other. The ending finally shows off the brothers' military skills with a creative assault on the bad guys. Even more intriguing is their sneak-attack on Frankie's family.

There is a nice set-up for the final story, which I will read.

❝ Learn to see past the surface—with men and women. It’ll save you a world of hurt. ❞
When Francesca "Frankie" Bocelli receives a letter from her bestie asking for help saving her son, she drops everything and heads to Rescue, Alaska to find a way. She needs time to plan and begins to settle into things a bit around town - makes friends, gets a job at Bull's Roadhouse and starts to develop feelings for the big guy (Bull). Bull is immediately taken by Frankie's straightforwardness (although he can tell she's hiding something and I removed ½ star because I felt she should've told the boys sooner, after she got to know them, their history, etc.), cheerful, spunky attitude and friendliness. The two were a great pairing.

As with the previous installments, I enjoyed the town, its residents just as much as the H/h of the story. Everyone always has a part to play in each story, so the reader's equally drawn to the supporting characters. I'm super anxious for Hawk's book, which I suspect is next. I saw his match coming before the potential for it was laid out, still it was exciting to see it all come together. He and his possible love, as well as her child, have a lot of healing to do, deserve some love and peace and I look forward to reading about it. Soon, hopefully!

Whether she’s writing about a BDSM club in Florida or a tiny town in Alaska, Cherise Sinclair is always magic. What You See is the fourth book in the Sons of the Survivalist series and is a total delight from captivating start to rousing finish. While this is ostensibly Bull’s story, it is actually more about Frankie, who is a total departure from most of Cherise’s heroines. Where most of them are insecure about their looks, Frankie knows she’s pretty and has a remarkable personality. While she may be in the shade of her model sisters, being a model is not something she has ever wanted. What she does want is to be called by her choice of name-Frankie, not Francesca, and to be appreciated by her family, who take her totally for granted.

When Frankie’s friend Kit writes to her to say her husband has confined her and her son, Aric, in a compound run by her husband’s group, the Patriot Zealots, in Rescue, Alaska., she asks for Frankie’s help in getting at least her son, Frankie’s godson, out of what has become a prison.

When Frankie arrives in Rescue she hires on at Bull’s bar as a waitress. She overhears Bull telling his ex-wife to leave him alone, but doesn’t realize she’s his ex who cheated on him. What he says to the ex is eerily like what her ex-husband said to her when he broke up with her. She immediately declares the sexy bar owner off-limits. Can Bull win over the Italian beauty before she heads into danger trying to rescue her friend from the PZ’s? And can he keep her safe when the cultists recognize her and what she intends to do? And can he make her family see who she is and what she really wants out of life?

Exceptional characters, a great plot line, hot sex scenes, lots of action, family drama and humor combine to make this one of Sinclair’s best efforts. We also get to visit with old friends-including Zachary Grayson-and catch up on the other brothers. As always, when I finish reading a Cherise Sinclair book, I’m not ready to return to the real world.

One of my favourite authors and a cameo from one of my favourite dominants in the Shadowlands series. CS always has relatable heroines that get on with it. Frankie is no exception. She is everything you want in a heroine and Bull, well we all want one of them! He knew she was it for him and kept making it easier and easier for her to fall for him. I loved the clever dog because again, we all want a protective cuddly bear and this heroine got two!

I can’t wait for Hawks story I guess he is gonna fall for Kit so that she finally picks a good guy instead of the creeps she tends to gravitate to. I think it will be a struggle and the book will be worth waiting for. Like anything CS writes she is such a great author.

3.5 Stars. Another well done book in the series. Adventure, love, family, it has it all. I think I've liked this one the best so far in the series. Looking forward to the next book.

It seems to take the author about a year to get the next book in this series out. I hope it goes faster and that she does the book for Hawk justice and I hope that Felix will get a book, too.

Another winner

I love the author and one click anything she writes. What You See is another example of why I love the author as well as this series. Bull and Frankie didn't start as friends but that quickly morphed into more. I loved how they were able to work together at the bar/restaurant and in their personal lives. Their relationship was hot!
The overall storyline was interesting and kept me reading without setting the book down.
While I did enjoy it, I was getting frustrated with Frankie for not trusting Bull and his brothers sooner.
Hawk is the last book in the series and I'm sure it's going to be filled with emotions from this shy vulnerable hero.
