What’s worse than finding a dead girl in your boss’s office? Becoming suspect number one in her murder.
When my impossibly sexy boss, Mr. Nox, steps in and offers to help I’m initially relieved. But his help comes with a caveat. He wants something in return. Oh, and here’s the kicker. He claims he’s Lucifer. The devil. A God of Sin.
Things don’t go my way, and I’m forced to accept a deal with the devil. I know what he wants. I can see the burning desire dancing in his piercing blue eyes. He wants me. And the longer I spend in his company, the more I begin to crave his touch, his kiss, his fierce passion. But if I give myself to him, he may never let me go. He claims that he is cursed, and believes I may be his salvation. I’m starting to wonder if he could be mine.
Lucifer’s Curse is a steamy fantasy romance with an HEA and fully consensual adult situations. If you like outrageously hot men with Irish accents and big wings, you’re going to love Nox.
From the author of the best-selling Hades Trials comes a brand new, spicier, paranormal romance.
Eliza Raine writes Greek mythology inspired fantasy that is fast paced, full of new worlds and creatures and sprinkled with a healthy dose of romance. She lives near Reading in England with her husband, three cats and outrageously cute puppy. She has a BA Hons in History and has a deep-rooted passion for mythology and stories about women who don't need rescuing. She can usually be found reading fairytale retellings, playing board games or binge-watching Netflix shows.

I chose to read this book because I am a huge Lucifer fan and I'd never come across it in book format before. The Lucifer in this story gods by Nox and he's a rich entrepreneur that all the ladies like -- naturally. One day Beth walks into his office and finds a dead woman on the floor. Nox makes her a deal to help keep her safe and prevent her from being a suspect in this murder. She ends up accepting a "deal with the devil" and it leads her into a life she never expected.
The beginning of the book had a promising start even if it was a little cliche. Beth is constantly in denial about the super natural world and it takes her a while to come to terms with it. Meanwhile Lucifer is drawn to her like he's never been drawn to any woman and spends most of the book trying to convince her to spend one night with him. It's surprising I finished this book and I think I was mostly driven by the fact that I wanted to see if they got intimate. When they finally did it wasn't as enjoyable as I hoped and the ending was just bizarre in my opinion.
I don't think I'll read the next one because the story was a bit all over the place. It was decent overall but I could take it or leave it.
Kendini okuttu mu? Evet.
Tom Kapinos adapted Vertigo for television and, in doing so, kicked down the door for writers like Ms. Raine to write books featuring Lucifer Morningstar as a single guy searching for love in the modern era, misinterpreting the character as the latest Disney Prince.
In this variation, the female protagonist “Beth” takes over the role of Beauty in Ms. Raine’s adaptation of Beauty and the Beast featuring Lucifer in the role of the Beast. On the off chance that readers might have missed the obvious parallels to the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, Beth dreams of Lucifer while wearing a lemon-yellow ball gown with her chestnut brown hair pulled back from her face and cascading down her back as they dance, looking over a frozen lake on the icy tundra.
Beauty-Beth, of indeterminate age, is woefully missing her parents, but hopeful that she will see them again. In the meantime, the immortal millionaire-bazillionaire, Lucifer, who is as old as time itself and knows everything about everything, corrupts Beth by having her purchase expensive gowns, eating at nice restaurants, going to a strip club, and using the slang that describes both cats and part of female anatomy.
Sufficed to say that I did not find the plot compelling, the characters interesting, or any part of the book even mildly entertaining.
This was different from other books I read based on Lucifer and it was fucking amazing. I just absolutely love this book. Beth and Mix where amazing and I can't wait for more of them.
I just reread Alessa Thorn’s Court of the Underworld series and maybe that set the bar really high for me. I don’t know. But this one was disappointing in several ways.
1. The plot seems disconnected. We have a murder, a murder suspect, a mystery of the missing parents, a devil, and a girl in the middle of it.
2. The heroine is a Mary Sue. She suffers from a lack of confidence but is the key to ending the hero’s curse. She is also just annoying as she vacillates between believing in the supernatural and not believing. I just found her annoying in general. The author goes out of her way to emphasize the character’s morality and personal struggle but she ends up coming across as immature and maybe silly.
3. The Devil is so one dimensional. He does typical mysterious supernatural alpha male things with the glimmering eyes that change colors and the shadows and lust-inducing ways. He is immediately drawn to the heroine.
4. The plot is something we have seen before and seems familiar and the pacing of the story left me cold and unfulfilled.
Once again Eliza Raine has blown my mind! Not only is this book stunning on the outside- but the story itself is perfection!
Lucifer, who goes by Nox, has been exiled to Earth as he has relinquished control of four of the seven deadly sins he's been tasked to "control". As a punishment, he can't feel those relinquished sins represent (ex. gluttony= no longer tastes food). After 80 years roaming Earth, he has pretty much given up any hope of breaking his curse but then of the blue, something or rather someone happens to change his mind. Beth works for the company Nox owns and one day while doing a favor for a friend she stumbles across a terrible scene- a woman dead in her boss's office. He swears it wasn't him and she knows it can't be her, but with very little to go on the police decide to look to her as the number one suspect. Beth then makes a deal with the devil to clear her name in exchange for one night together. What will happen when the devil comes to collect?
I have to admit that I love all things Lucifer related. I really love all the different avenues we can go down to make his character more than what we have learned, maybe he really is just misunderstood and was really stressed and needed a break! The characters really got me in this book. Beth, the FMC, is very much a sensible, serious, slightly prudish character to start. But after spending more time in Nox's company we see her getting more confidence and coming out of her shell a lot more by the end of the book. Nox is wickedly perfect in my opinion. He does have is mysterious moments where he runs off but he is always back and back to his genial self. There is a shining part in this book and that takes form in Francis. Francis is Beth's elderly "neighbor" and she has such wit and no-bull attitude that I wish makes me wish that I had a Francis in my life- I think most people would really benefit from that!
The world-building is pretty amazing. It takes place in London so it is easy to imagine and remember places (if you're a sort of local) There is a realistic tone to the setting but there is always the hint or peek to the "other side" throughout the book, I mean it is PNR. You very easily can and will get lost in the story and will be hooked for the entirety of the book. There are some fantastic twists and turns and you are always guessing at who is responsible. The ending is a great twist that I didn't see coming and I can't wait to read book two to find out what happens!!
A fantastic book to read for lovers of PNR, lucifer, the supernatural world, and whodunnit mysteries!
Started off quite good however felt myself getting bored though out and kept checking how long left on audible. Shame as I usually love all things Lucifer related
***1/2 stars - Lucifer is a powerful fallen Angel. Eighty years ago Lucifer gave up the four deadly sins that he disliked the most. The four that gave him the most problems were wrath, pride, envy, and sloth. Lucifer kept the three he enjoyed most which were lust, greed, and gluttony. Unfortunately by doing this it caused him to have no control over his responsibility for punishing the people who abused the seven deadly. He was punished for ignoring his duties and he was cursed. His was cursed to never enjoy the three sins he had kept. Lucifer now goes by the name Nox and owns LMS Financial Services. Beth works for Mr. Nox. Mr. Nox meets Beth after she is accused of murdering a woman in his office. Lucifer notice’s that there is something different and maybe even special about Beth. Lucifer decides to help Beth clear her name of the murder. His only stipulation is that Beth must spend the night with him once she is cleared of the murder. Beth agrees and makes a deal with the devil. The book started out slow and it was hard for me to stay interested. The book did get better but it still lacked a thrill to keep reading. There were some twists and turns that surprise you. Lucifer and Beth did have some chemistry. I have read Eliza’s other books that were so good you could not put them down. Therefore I will read the second book in the series and hope it gets better. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Slowest burning romance ever. For a novel that is supposed to be about the Devil who inhabits the sin of lust, this book was seriously lacking.

5 ⭐ I loved it. I’ll revisit it like an old friend. This book is moving right into my favorites category. I would recommend it to everyone, even people that don’t ask. I’ll one click this author’s work in the future. 4 ⭐ A great read. I’ll probably reread again when feeling nostalgic. It was enjoyable, not portable magic. I would recommend it. 3 ⭐ I liked it. It was a nice way to pass the time. I doubt I’ll reread it. I’d recommend it to someone asking for a specific genre. Thanks for the memories. 2 ⭐ I completed the Herculean task of finishing this book. At times, it felt like I was Prometheus and the suffering would never end. It just wasn’t for me but I applaud the author for their effort. 1 ⭐ I couldn’t finish this book or I wish I hadn't finished. How do I put this? It’s not me, it’s you.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Nox and Beth. The author brings an entertaining story filled with drama ,mystery and suspense as well as the steamy chemistry and I was glued to the pages with all the twists. She paints her scenes perfectly and moves the story fluidly and delivers an exciting story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This book kept coming up as a targeted ad so I finally gave it and I’m so happy I did. I really enjoyed the story and characters. Give me any story where mundane humans are existing amongst the supernatural without even knowing and I’m sold. I’m definitely excited to see where this story goes from here and can’t wait to start the next one.
WOW this is so HOT !! Nox our male mc is super sexy in this steamy paranormal fantasy romance whilst Our female mc is a little prudish and on the unlucky side. Her boss claims to be the devil himself and can help her out of a sticky murder situation but she has to make a deal with him! .It’s a fun and entertaining read, there’s murder, twists you will not see coming and some hot and steamy scenes!
this was really nice!! love me a book about making deals w the devil. great writing and the duo had good chemistry!! it was fun and sexy and kept me turning pages. i haven’t read a decent urban fantasy in a while so this was v entertaining. onto book 2
Mon Lucifer chéri... Un livre fort bien sympathique ! Sur la base d'une enquête sur un meurtre, avec du fantastique et une tension (🌶) digne de ce nom, je valide. Je vais lire le tome 2 direct, surtout vu la fin.
I loved the sound of this (and the cover is gorgeous too) and it didn't disappoint!
Eliza Raine is a new to me author and I wish I'd found her sooner. I loved the twist here with Lucifer and his powers. Nox and Eliza certainly had some slow burning sizzling chemistry as Eliza makes a deal with her boss, the Devil, to get her out of a very sticky situation. I really liked her, the determination, tenacity mixed with vulnerability and her struggles with believing Nox or thinking he was crazy was delightful.
Humour, suspense, steam, a bit of darkness and a great story line, I flew through the pages and cannot wait to read the next book after that ending!
I’ve read the Hades Trials and the Poseidon Trials by Eliza Raine and loved both series. This one has a different twist than the other two series (so far), but it pulls you in and you HAVE to know what happens next. About to start book two!
Such a different take on the devil, I really loved it. Nox and Beth fit so well together for being opposites. Character building and world building were done to perfection! Can't wait to read the second in the series!

Einfach nein 🥲
Okay, I want to start off by saying I really don't like giving a 2 star and this realistically for me is closer to 2.5 but not a 3. When I do give a 2 star I try to just stick to the pros and cons of the book as to hopefully not delve into being mean in my review because I always feel guilty. So here we go.
Pros: I like that concept of the devil and fallen angels and supernatural. Obviously I am a huge paranormal romance fan sign me up any day of the week. I think the mystery was pretty okay, and we got to see them play detective together and get to know one another.
Cons: ....almost everything else? Ugh. I hate to say that...but here we go. Starting with the female main character, I found her to be insufferable. This book could have knocked off 100 pages if her inner monologue wasn't as repetitive and boring. She just kept repeating herself, but in all that repeat time I feel we didn't get to really connect with her in an in depth manner. I still don't really know her by the end.
The love story is almost non existent and the encounters we get from Beth's perspective are again very repetitive and we just hear 100 ways that she feels lust and shouldn't. At least with Nox we get an actual story.
Also, Beth is the main character's name? Everyone else in this book gets a good name, a paranormal romance name and we get Beth for the fmc?
Honestly am I curious about the cliffhanger, sure. However I had to force myself through Beth's chapters after the 40 percent mark and I don't think I can continue.
I love how Eliza writes. I said so in every review I've made. But. Oh. My. God. Lucifer's Curse blew my mind. It gripped me hard from the very start and didn't let go until the last page. Yeah, that's how amazing I think it is this new series. And it is not only the whole Lucifer thing. I mean, it is a new universe. We have no greek gods in this one, and I love greek myth, but I didn't mind. I'm completely fine with this new version of Lucifer. I mean, Nox. And his Irish accent. OHMYLORD. I loved Beth and Nox so much. And Francis, I really hope we all could have a Francis in our lives. But back to the couple, I loved how Eliza built their partnership from the beginning. Beth, the innocent & Nox, the Devil. And that deal that promised to change both their lives. And uffff, that journey was crazy. The sexual tension, the crescendo in every chapter toward that deal, and oh, the sensuality. I can't say steamy, or hot, because Nox oozed sensuality, and honestly, I'm all for it. Go, Beth! I really, really can't wait for Falling Feathers.
I received an ARC of this book via Booksprout and Eliza and am voluntarily leaving a review.
3.5/5⭐️ plot: 3⭐️ spice: 4🌶️ murder mystery + a deal with the devil. There are some grammatical errors littered throughout this which drives me nutssss lol but other than that it had a decent plot and slow burn tension anticipation smut. It ends on a wild cliffhanger so I am excited to continue the series and see where this goes
Some parts didn't add up. Beth always doubting herself, she was her worst enemy. Why did the author made her so strict and then made her forget all that? Thought that Francis would be something "more".. I like a good slow burn but the last 20% was a over kill.
This series had a lot of potential. There were some very good ideas and I really liked the supporting characters. However, both the main characters were excruciatingly dumb. The FMC was too stupid to live and had a very weak personality. Anything strong about her was linked to Nox. Left to her own devices, she did the dumbest things. Some of them are listed below: 1. She chose to go and confront the villain in book 1 alone. The villain was supernatural, she wasn't. Yes, Nox didn't pick up the phone. But he wasn't the only option. Additionally, waiting a bit longer for him wouldn't have made much of a difference. 2. In book 3, she chased a person who she suspected killed the Angel of Wrath on her own. She had Rory (who's a fighter) with her, but she told Rory to stay in the line at the restaurant instead. Wtf? 3. In book 2, when she went to confront Banks at the HQ, why couldn't she have taken a small listening device with her instead of trying to take the communicator from him and turning it on? Or she or Rory could have managed to take it from anyone else they crossed paths with at the HQ. 4. When the FMC ran across her Mom in book 3, her mother kept telling her to run before Bank and the Hell hound woke up. What did she do? She stood right there in the open and kept talking. Look, I know she had a lot of questions, but couldn't she have asked them somewhere that wasn't so open and the guy hunting her wasn't in-front of her. 5. The bid for the Ruby necklace in book 3 was another moment of utter stupidity. Nox gave her permission to buy it using his money. Her mother asked her to get it. However, halfway through the bidding war, she gave up because it was getting too expensive. I had to take a break after that scene and then push myself to finish the book.
Now, for the MMC. You would think that an angel who has been around for so long would be more logical. You would be wrong. 1. This guy can't stop having sex with the FMC even though it's making him weaker and he needs to be at full strength. 2. He doesn't assign a permanent guard to the FMC even though he is well aware that she is a target. She is constantly left alone. 3. This guy is incapable of seeing the big picture. At some point, he should have compiled all the clues and made a suspect list. But who has time for that?
There were more instances of utter stupidity by the MCs but these were the most prominent ones.
I know people make fun of Bella from Twilight for having no personality. I actually liked Bella. Beth on the other hand is just embarrassing. She has very little self-confidence. She feels confident and strong almost exclusively when she is around Nox. And she is utterly boring. In book 1, Nox said that he found her funny. When I read that bit, all I could think was "where?" I don't remember the FMC saying anything funny in all 3 books. The only things about her that could have attracted the MMC, were her innocence, shyness and naivety.
This series wasn't for me. I need more substance and strength in my MCs.

This is book one of The Devil’s Deal series and the main characters are Beth and Nox. Beth works as a lowly cog in Mr Nox’s company and is covering for her best friend, by taking some reports up to the boss’ office, while her friend is out on a date, when she walks in on what seems to be a compromising situation between her boss and a sexy looking female, who usually brings all sandwiches round the offices. Beth walks straight back out completely embarrassed by what she thinks was happening. Unfortunately, her friend doesn’t bother to come back to the office after her date, leaving Beth to take the final reports up to Nox’s office. This time, she makes sure she knocks, but it seems the office is empty until she spots a dead body hidden by the desk! A bad ending to a crappy day at work, just gets worse when she confronts her lazy freeloading boyfriend Alex, after he stole money from her again. She kicks him out, only to return to find he has taken anything not tied down with him in his departure! It soon turns out that her ex-boyfriend was two timing her with the dead girl, Sarah, who also worked at a club, leaving Beth as a prime suspect in the killing! Her boss seems to have a strange reaction when he helps her up, holding her hand, which will bring about some interesting new views of the world around her! Nox offers her a deal, to spend one night with him, in return for him helping to find the real killer and ensuring she doesn’t spend the rest of her life in prison for a murder she didn’t do. She has to think about it, especially when he reveals he has to tell her he is the God of Sin, the devil himself, Lucifer, not that she takes any of that seriously, thinking him more a wealthy playboy than anything else. The police keep on at her and Nox makes sure she isn’t left alone with them, leading to her feeling more and more, whenever she is in his presence. Even at night, in her dreams, she begins to crave his touch and his presence close to her. This continues the more time they spend together, as they try to figure out who killed Sarah, but also took something much more precious. Nox has been unable to react to the attention of any female until Beth, telling her he has been cursed for dropping some of his responsibilities as the devil and that he needs her to save him. How she will become his salvation is unclear, but there is a wonderful and unexpected twist at the end! I look forward to the next book in this series, to see what happens with the pair. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
