War came to The Wastelands and a queen fell.

After healing from the war that took many of our own we are finally reaping the rewards of our sacrifices. Our lands are healing, our people are growing stronger. All under the queen, Worth.

Now, as her right hand man...erm...woman I am charged with riding the sands and chasing down those who threaten our carefully built peace. It’s not an easy job, in fact every day is filled with bloodshed and death. So when heading into the unknown you need those at your back that you can trust, and these four men are who I trust more than anyone in the world.

My Doctor.
My Beast.
My Shadow
My Mountain Man.

I myself have had many names from Pascha to Princess, and now I add another to the list.

Damned.

2.5 Ok, so this series went from great to good to meh.

It happens, I guess, but it felt really weird. The plot made no sense unless you read the main series. And this book feels like a filler but at the end of the series. It makes no sense!!

I had really high expectations.

Would I recommend it? Meh, dunno. It's almost Christmas, I'm in a good mood, so I'll say maybe.

I feel like I gave this series the benefit of the doubt but I’m pretty bummed with the overall takeaway. On that note I should mention that this is considered a “companion” novel for a reason, it really should be read in conjunction with the Wasteland series. After book one much of the storylines coincide and without having any prior knowledge of characters or the situation you would not find this enjoyable or easy to make sense of. While it’s been over a year since I read the prior series I did remember some but I can’t imagine a newbie would be able to follow along because there’s not even a refresh on what happened or what’s going on. Such as with the war between the cities and the forgotten outsiders. The last book ended with Piper and her men showing up for war. This starts right after the war and again doesn’t even really do a wrap up of what occurred and it really made this book feel bland and boring. How is a whole war just skipped over, the experiences for these characters would be different wouldn’t it smh?!
I’m also a bit bitter because not only is most of the action skipped over, the development between Piper and her one new men never even happened. I was looking forward to that in this book and instead he is just accepted into the group and I really don’t feel like I got to know him. Instead Piper has to spend time with one of her original men after he loses his memory. Aside from this and two kinda cool skirmishes between cave dwellers and cannibals, there’s not much meat to the story. Piper and her men go out on runs to find things to return home with and make reports pretty much. She also learns more about her past and what happened to her parents but it felt kinda far fetched and hard to believe for me. It just really sucked that much of the juicy action packed parts of the story were skipped and have to be read via the other series. We do get a HEA which is nice for Piper and her men but really I’d have like to see a HEA for that whole world. Like what will it be like in 10 or 20 years. Will the cities still be separate and consider themselves better than the savages in the wilds? Does the world begin to actually rebuild itself?

What an amazing end to Piper's and her loving amazing harems story. I love this post apocalyptic world that Katie created and this series about strong females that fight back even though the world has tried to break them has become a favourite of mine. I love the way these women and their loving and crazy men are trying to change the world and make it a better place for those that are left and for those still to come. I definitely shed a tear or two and piper goes on to discover answers from her past and to find her own way into the world. You simply must read Worth's and Piper's stories.

The Damned by K.A.Knight

Now this is one of the few reviews that I do, where the Rating of this Book does not match the Rating List. :)
I Give this Book a 4-4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as High 4.

Piper is honestly one of my favorite characters, I would love for a novella in the near future to visit these characters again :)

There are more characters in this Universe that I hope soon that they get their own stories.

HEA(?): Yes
Relationship Type: MFMMM
M/M(?): No
Heat: Storyline is/was more important, the heat for me is a solid 3/5. I just wish that the heat was more steamy, due to the size of the book.
It is more one on one focused, and it did feel odd at times when it came across like she had to ‘sneak’ away from her guys in order to have some smexy alone with one of them. And I have to say that I didn’t expect the few ‘next-day’ type scenes, there were some times when it was clearly leading up to a smexy scene only for it to ‘Poof’, it kinda took a wee bit of wind outta the sail.
Romance: 4-4.5/5
Pacing: Very Good, it’s more mid paced and reads comfortably
Drama: 3.5-4 (but closer to a 4)/5, Tears were shed while reading this lol
Suspense: 3/5
Dark(?): No, at least to me it wasn’t :)

This series holds my heart in a way no other has. The FMC of this and the sister story (Champions) both are bad A and I LOVE that the series have them being the boss.
10/10 love the men and the romance.
This felt a little like a long winded epilogue and not really needed but I enjoyed it non the less.

Epic conclusion

What an amazing conclusion to the series! Both the companion series and the main Their Champion series! Loved it from front to back, from the first book to the last! Knight truly surpassed all expectations with both series! Loved each character and how unique each character was. Couldn’t put it down! Just another reason Knight is seriously one of my favorite authors of all time, can’t wait for what she releases next!

The type of ending I love

So I totally sniffles and cried my way through entire book. There are some serious emotional moments, some absolutely beautiful moments, and of course the laughter crazy Piper causes. It was in short awesome. Loved the wrap up and the ending had me ugly crying. Totally worth it.

My hope is to find out what drugs the readers with high ratings for this book are on. Not because I want them, but because I think the people could be excellent test subjects for a few experiments. In on seriousness I have no idea why there is a third book.

Throughout the book there’s random sexual acts and a cute puppy. Piper has also become a bit more childish with her word vomit. She only thinks about sex which makes it hard to believe she’s in love with anyone except Evan or that she’s a warrior. I’m confused as to what the rules are in this world because they have access to things they shouldn’t of the world ended. Everything is far too contradictory.

Mostly I think the writer just wrote this book just to have a spin off series without really thinking it through. There’s clues of a Clarissa book with how much she’s mentioned while not giving you a lot of her story. This would be another bad idea. The story was over with when she wrote the champion series. This companion series gave nothing additional to the story.

There are a few difference between Piper and Worth’s story, but for the most part they are the same. The difference is that Piper is a watered down version of Worth with less maturity. The guys are all part of the background and all similar, despite the fact we are talking about nine different people. Worth learns her father was alive and hiding in Paradise, a man she thought had died. Piper learns her mother lived years and never died. Both their parents died trying to make things right with their children.

The lists can go on as to why these series are essentially they same. The problem is that there is not a logical reason for why we have a Piper series. Its understandable to have a book that leads up to her meeting with Worth, but everything in this book was filler. Meaning there is not plot. She goes out into the waste, kills some people, then comes back to the ring, all while having sex the majority of the time. That sums up this book.

There’s no way I could recommend this book or the series. It’s a waste of your time unless you really want to read a book based in a post apocalyptic world with some serious editing problems. In short pick another book, there’s plenty of options out there that will have everything you think you want and more.

The war is over and while they may have won, there is still much to be done. The lands must be reclaimed for the people. No more killing, no more rape, no more cannibalism. It must be safe for all. Worth has appointed Piper as her right-hand woman, her general. As such, Piper and her men will secure the nations for future generations. And while doing so, maybe make peace with the past.

Piper, her Assasin, Beast, Doctor, and Mountainman are back for their final book, and is it a doozy! So much action, steam, emotion, and surprises. This book took directions I never could have predicted. So fitting for Piper. This girl...I can't even. I love her. Her inner/sometimes voiced monologue is priceless. She is shocking, endearing, unpredictable, and utterly adorable. She is unapologetically real as she embraces life. This book revisits the past as a new hope for the future emerges. It is as bloody as it is beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the start of the nation's rise, Piper forming deeper relationships with her fellow female leaders, and watching Piper and her men falling deeper in love. Piper will be instrumental in securing the lands and keeping the stories of the people alive for history. I will do the same for her.

This was my least favorite of the 3. BUT! I honestly think it was more about character development and life lessons. It was still very good and very emotional in parts. So, it is a bit slower most of the book. I think this is also metaphorical too.

Sometimes we get so busy with life that we think we've overcome, but when we slow down, that pain and hurt comes rushing in and it's almost like we don't know how to work through it. This was very much this book. Everything has been so fast paced and then this book slows down and makes Piper face a lot of things that she wanted to leave behind, or that she thought she left behind.

This series was incredible. Knight still seems to hold my heart. And as much as I didn't want to read Worth's story, I feel like I need to just to get more of this apocalypse world in me.

I DO 100% RECOMMEND that you start with Worth's story before reading this series. I feel like I missed out on a relationship with Dray and Archel and some other things. Especially Clarissa and Nan.

So bad.

Repeat everything I said on the review for the first book but make the main character the worst.
The random addition of even more groups of people or violent things is so confusing. I kept a list of all the additions and I couldn’t tell you the difference on who most of them are.
There was no real point to this book?
What was the theme? What was the plot? The driving force? The inciting incident?
I have zero answers.
It seems like a lot happens and nothing all at the same time.
All these allegedly traumatic or awful things happen but there’s never any kind of fallout, repercussions, lasting affects.
I found it tone deaf and frustrating a lot of the time.
It seemed like she just really wanted to make it a trilogy and through together bonus stories for people that really liked her characters and wanted to see them again.
None of the books seemed like they had an editor or beta readers of any kind.

So first let me say that I have loved this series world! This is one of those apocalyptic books that really shows' you not only the depravity of people but also the goodness in people. This series was a shoot off of The Champion series (which I am a die heart for) and this series did not disappoint.

Piper and her men are so much more different then Worth and her men and it was refreshing. I loved how Pipers mind worked and all the funny hilarious things she would say but she also had a depth to her that called to my soul. What her and her men have gone through is amazing and I was a little sad to see it end BUT the ending was beautiful and did these characters justice.

Love, Love, LOVE this book!

I know that there is another related series, and maybe I should have read that one first, but HOW CAN YOU SKIP A WHOLE WAR WHEN THE PREVIOUS BOOK REVOLVES AROUND THAT NONEXISTENT WAR???
I only read one page and had to come looking for reviews because I thought a book was missing lol. I'm not even trying to read it, and I can't believe that I'm gonna drop a series when there's only another book to finish but this is a breaking point to me.

The first book in the series was good, and the second one was meh, and this, well, what I'd just said. Maybe I'll wrap my mind around it in time and give it a try (nop, doub it)

There are so many things to say about Piper and her men... literally from beginning to end I was once again hooked on this one of a kind book world that K.A Knight has created. To say that I'm sad to see it go; well that's an understatement. Piper, Jago, Evan, Clay and Archel take us on one heck of a final ride full of adventure, violence, loss, family, closure, friendships, ALL the steam & so so much more! I loved this book and this series so much it's just so unique; along with the Their Champion Novels Worth & Piper's stories will forever be two of my absolute favorites.

I absolutely love this series by the very talented author. From book one all the way to the end of this book I was completed engrossed in what was happening to this unique and captivating characters. I am happy to read the ending to this book but disappointed at the same time that we will not have more of these guys. This series really has it all...hot and steamy scenes, intense characters, a strong and powerful FMC, unique world building and actioned packed scenes. I know this is going to be a series that I will read over and over again. Highly recommended!

Needs a good long edit and had some continuity issues. There was some confusion about Pipers age... I'm pretty sure either in the main series or in the first book of the companion series it mentions that at 18 she chooses to go on Patrol. But in this book Abel says her mom died 10 years ago and in one of the videos her mom left for her she says that it's Pipers 16th birthday which would make Piper at least 26-28 and yet Worth is older than her but is supposed to be 26 I think... so there's a mix up somewhere. I'm just gonna assume that Piper is 18 or 19 at this point.

Brilliant book. I have loved this series since first meeting Worth and she made me fall in love with Piper too.
Piper is the Leader of the Damned, Charged with protecting the wastes from the scoundrels that plague the desert. Along with her shadow, her beast, her mountain man and doctor she travels north to protect the new land her queen has built.
We learn more about Piper and her men in this book. This was a brilliant read.

I absolutely love everything about this series and Piper and her men. I am sad to see the end but WOW What an amazing ride 😉 (literally)! This book was such a great ending, it had everything, love, sadness, adventure, danger and triumph and some really sexy men 💜. Any time someone wants a recommendation for a dystopian series. Piper and Worth are definitely in my top 5 series of all time!! If you haven't picked up this series yet, don't wait any longer you won't be sorry. Thanks Katie for the journey!

This was an incredible conclusion for an incredible series. I loved everything about this series and I loved how it ended. These characters are some of my favorites , starting with Worth and meeting Piper along the way, to Piper having her own series, it was perfect. I have so enjoyed the emotional roller coaster, the growth and strength and of course the spice. I am sad this this is over but so excited to see what adventure K.A. Knight takes us on next!

I love Piper and her harem. They’re some of my favorite characters that Katie Knight has written. I love the dystopian world of The Wastes, I adore Piper’s obsessive fangirl crush on Worth and the relationship that she has with her men is awesome.

The plot and conclusion of the story was perfectly timed. I loved the ending and felt satisfied with how everything was wrapped up.

My only criticism is the lack of group *ahem* activities. I’m also a greedy bitch and think group activities should be required in every reverse harem. How are you going to have a group of hot guys and not want more than one at once, especially as horny as Piper is. 😆

I loved the first 2 books, but this one was too "feely" for me. The first part of the book has great action scenes, then the second half is just, "we make our own family" and reconnecting with her mother. Rape is very serious and I'm not trying to downplay it at all, but this got very heavy at the end. For me the first 2 books were light and action packed, which I love. The 3rd was just so much taking about feelings for me, that I found myself zoning out and couldn't wait to finish

I didn’t want it to end! I dragged this book out as much as I could so I could get as much of Pipers beautiful story as possible! WOW! Another brilliant novel by a fantastic author! She writes characters that are so easy to identify with and pulls you right into their world! 10/10!!!! A beautiful ending for such a wonderful character!

What an ending to this series!!! Loved it. I have been waiting for this book to come out at KA Knight so didn’t disappoint. Fantastic read. Characters of course are a favorite of mine. Storyline is to die for. So wish it didn’t end. Overall I will definitely recommend this entire series. This is book 3 so read the rest first. Again loved it!!!

Fantastic

I have loved Piper's story as much I loved Worth's sorry, K. A. Knight has a very talented way with words and an awesome imagination, the only problem I found was not having a way to read the two stories in order as, if you don't it can be confusing as both stories are interlinked. Seriously an excellent read.

What a great ending to a great trilogy. I'm not sure I could have envisioned anything better for Piper and her men. I just love her personality and sarcasm it's a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to Katie's next book wherever that will take her.

We get to see the nation’s rising from the ashes of destruction and chaos. The change manifesting from the strength of the Women and men who support them. Lots of steam in this book, as well as an HEA ending.

These books were a great read. I love the different collection of personalities in their group. I think I liked the second book a bit more, I just felt more drawn to the characters in that one for whatever reason, but this was still an amazing read.
