Katie is lonely, but she’s hiding it from everyone by working long shifts at Redwood Cove Airport and volunteering with her therapy dog, Rose, on Heartbreak Row at the local animal refuge. She put her emotions into a holding pattern a year ago when her uncle died, and that strategy is working just fine ... at least, it is until her sister goes missing.
Anton is a celebrity thriller writer, but when the real world started imitating the plot of his last blockbuster, guilt made him lose his nerve. Now he’s hiding away in Redwood Cove writing the puzzle page for the local newspaper. Nothing has stirred his interest for months, but then Katie comes knocking on his door.
When Katie's sister went missing, the only clue she left behind was a torn out crossword from Anton's puzzle page. Thrown together on the hunt for Katie's missing sister, Anton has his own difficult truth to he needs to come to terms with his guilt if he is going to find a way of keeping Katie (and matchmaker Rose) part of his future.
Find out if Rose can work her therapy magic and bring peace to these two wounded hearts. This sweet and charming tale is guaranteed to bring joy to your heart, so why not order your copy and start reading today!
Air Supply for sure Katie was lonely, Anton was lonely. When they met there was “two less lonely people in the world” to quote the song by Air Supply. I thought this was apropos considering Katie was an air traffic controller even though I run the risk of dating myself (the old age kind of dating). She also owned one of Carol Graves golden retrievers named Rose and volunteered at the local animal refuge. She met Anton when she went to the newspaper office to report her sister missing. Anton was smitten as soon as Katie entered the office. He quickly volunteered to help her find her sister. After going hither and yon in their search with little success, they stratigised some more. Both Katie and Anton had some deep seated self worth issues and miscommunication issues, but Anton knew he enjoyed being with Katie and wanted to set things right by her. A few twists and turns later and other moments I’m sure you would enjoy reading about, led to a heartfelt HEA. I loved these characters and that they recognized their own personal shortcomings. Not only that, they sought to rectify their issues.
KEEPING KATIE is the fourteenth book in the multi-author Gold Coast Retrievers series. Each is a stand-alone story of romantic suspense.
This is a wonderful, feel-good story. It feels good because of the therapy dog, Rosie. It feels good because of the romance between Katie and Anton. It feels good because of the devotion that Katie has towards her sister, Veronica. It feels good, because at the end I had all of my happy endings.
I would gladly spend a week reading nothing but Golden Retriever stories and then beg for another week. Who doesn’t want a friendly, sweet, devoted dog to help you navigate life’s troubles? I’m looking through my TBR pile to see if I have another book from this wonderful series…. See you soon!

Title: KEEPING KATIE Series: Gold Coast Retrievers #14 Category /Genre: Sweet Romance, Suspense Recommended for: 14+ Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Stella Quinn
This was a very enjoyable story, with many different facets of interest. It centered on two sisters whose guardian had passed away a year earlier. Coping with this loss, and the sisters' separation for work reasons, created loneliness and. unhappiness. The younger sister had a golden retriever named Rosie, and they volunteered at an animal shelter to re-home the dogs. The older sister disappeared, and the younger sister began searching for her. While searching, she met a man who helped her search, and they fell in love. It was a mystery they tried to solve together. This book held my interest from the first page to the last. Stella Quinn is definitely a 5-Star author.
Wow another great read about the therapy dogs, the Gold Coast Retrievers. Katie and Rose her therapy dog were known all over town. Her sister Veronica had moved to a new town as she transferred to a new bank. Anton a famous writer was a well known resident of the Redwood Cove community. This was a book well worth try reading. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
