This book is angsty as fuckkkkkk! Whew! My heart went out to Colton.
Colton Masters made a mistake as a young boy, and they mistake cost him 20 years behind bars.
He lost his best friend and their family who was like second family to him, the death of their little brother, and he lost his own family through the entire ordeal.
Talynn Davis used to have a crush on her brothers best friend. It changed that day when Colton killed her little brother. 20 years later, she the deputy of the very same town that Colton decided to come back too. Diamond, Texas.
Now part of an MC, that’s also on a ranch - he’s an outcast. And Talynn is pissed. Hellbent on running him out of town, she tries her best to get him out of her hometown. He’s the reason for so much heartache.
It takes a turns of events when she must reluctantly ask Colton aka Crow for help.
It’s an angsty, heartbreaking, enemies to lovers romance between an ex-felon and a deputy.
Things aren’t always what they seem. This love story slowly unravels as truth unwinds and it’s steamy and sweet!
“ I can’t help I think about how far we’ve come and how much forgiving we both done to get here. Our paths were not easy but fucking look at us now. It’s not gonna be easy. We still got shit to work out, but goddamnit, it’ll be worth it.”
Childhood-Crush / Enamoramiento de la infancia = heroína enamorada del H desde que era una pre-adolescente (específicamente desde que tenía 12 años, creo recordar)
I absolutely adore the premise of this book. Thats just such a good premise to me and the book really delivered for me. This book was very solid and gave me everything I wanted from it.
The plot of this book was just so much fun. I loved how creative this plot was. It really sucked me into the story and never let me go. This book made me so emotional because I was really invested in the story and the characters.
This one just really worked for me. I thought that this book was just a joy to read and I had the best of time reading it.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion
Twenty years ago a tragic accident changed three lives forever. Colton “Crow” Masters is now off parole working with the Diamond MC but that won’t stop Talynn Davis from getting justice for her brother. One thing might stand in her way though...her heart. Talynn has known Colton her whole life but sometimes matters of vengeance & matters of the heart combined can complicate things. An emotional and sweeter side to this light MC world including a “inexperienced” hero! Can an ex-felon and a deputy heal from the past to move forward? There are some serious topics that are dealt with in this story so be prepared. I really enjoyed this lighter MC romance that deals with topics going on today in the world. Crow and Talynn really make you feel things and pull at your heartstrings. If you enjoy redemption stories then check this out. Told in dual POV
3.75stars-CROW’S SCORN by Misty Walker is the second instalment in the multi-authored contemporary, adult DIAMOND KINGS MC erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Diamond Kings MC. This is thirty-six year old, MC enforcer Colton ‘Crow’ Masters, and thirty-two year old, Diamond Deputy Talynn Davis’ story line. CROW’S SCORN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Crow and Talynn) CROW’S SCORN follows in the aftermath of a murder. Twenty years earlier, Colton Masters was sent to prison for a killing he did not commit but upon his release, his parole, and his patching into the Diamond Kings MC, Colton ‘Crow’ Masters finds himself the target of the town’s Deputy, Talynn Davis, the sister of the man he was accused of killing. Talynn Davis wants nothing to do with our story line hero, and intends to make his life a living h*ll, in the hopes of Colton Masters being run out of town but in the end, Talynn needs Colton’s help, help when her only surviving brother, finds himself on the wrong side of the law. What ensues is the forbidden relationship between Crow and Talynn, and the potential fall-out when the truth about the past is finally revealed, and Crow finds himself facing a life time in prison for protecting the woman with whom he had fallen in love.
Colton ‘Crow’ Masters spent twenty years struggling with what happened and why. Colton Masters was innocent of the murder of Talynn’s brother but our heroine swore that Colton was the person responsible for taking her brother’s life. Fast forward to present day wherein Colton’s return to Diamond, Texas means facing a town that continues to blame Colton for sins of the past. Having loved Talynn Davis for as long as he can remember, Crow knows that he will never reveal the truth, losing the only woman he has ever loved.
The relationship between Crow and Talynn is an enemies to lovers predicated upon a lie that continues to build with every transgression but Talynn is desperate to save her surviving brother, a desperation that forces our heroine to ask for a favor from a man whose life she destroyed twenty years earlier. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.
We are introduced to the Diamond Kings MC President Ruin, and VP Sin, as well as Sheriff Davis, Talynn’s brother Henry, and deputy in training Justin McAlister.
CROW’S SCORN is a story of secrets, lies, betrayal and hurt. The premise is emotional and dramatic; the romance is provocative and seductive; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.
Crow's Scorn is a story that grabbed hold of my heart right from the start!
As kids Colton, Talynn and her brothers were friends. She was always tagging along to spy and see what they were up to until one tragic day lead to a lifetime of secrets. This is not your typical MC romance and I loved that. Colton "Crow" Masters found himself in jail at a young age and missing out on all things a young boy/man does in his youth. Finding the MC when out on paraole saved him but finding himself back in Talynn's life heals him. Talynn has so much to overcome when it comes to her childhood crush.
This book is part of the Diamond Kings MC and is a great read!
MC romances are absolutely Walker’s thing. More romance focused and a less dark and gritty than her previous series. It’s different from her other MC books but more angsty and emotional. An earth shattering, heart breaking, breath taking whirlwind romance. An emotional and raw rollercoaster ride full of pain, forgiveness and love.
Won’t rate because I DNF as soon as she goes to his home with an unwarranted search warrant while stating the whole MC were low loves doing illegal things. She lied to get the warrant. Illegal. Also 20 years for an accidental shooting? Accidental. This book has way too much pain and it’s too depressing.

This is a book in the multi-author The Diamond Kings MC. Each book is a standalone by a different author and is a standalone that focuses on a different member of the MC. This is the story of Crow and Talynn. Crow is now a thirty-six year old man who is fresh out of prison but as a condition of his parole he needs a job and the men at the Diamond Kings Ranch give him a job, a MC and a family that he never really has ever had. When he was sixteen things took a turn with his best friend and Talynn's brothers and he ended up in prison. When Talynn was a young girl she only had eyes for her brother's best friend Colton but what she sees when she sneaks around one day would change both their lives forever right along with her family and his. His family has abandoned him and I really felt for him because from the beginning of the book I felt like there was so much more to the story than what we got. But you get the so much more as you read the book. Talynn is now grown and the daughter of the Sheriff and she followed in his footsteps and became a deputy even though he begged her not to. The second she finds out that Colton is out of prison she decides that it's time to pay him a little visit and makes sure that he knows that no one in the small town of Diamond, Texas wants him around. She is absolutely horrible to him. But Crow just takes it as he feels that she is justified in her feelings. After all he was there when her life suddenly took this turn that shouldn't have really happened. She also has a brother who is a serious drug addict that they donesn't really know where he is but you will get to know him to. There is a lot going on in this book and I really loved Colton and felt for him on so many occasion. Talynn is a strong fierce woman who has lived through so much heartbreak. I have to shut up or I am going to give something away that I really shouldn't. I really loved this book. It has everything that you need in a great romance book and I loved the MC family dynamic of the entire book too.
I'm so EXCITED to have found a new to me MC Romance series!! I absolutely loved Crows Scorn, from the Romance, Suspense and the Motorcycle Club aspect.
Colton (Crow) and Talynn have both lived a life of misunderstanding, pain and grief from a very early age, and I could tell early on that both of them were being molded by those forces without their consent. Neither of them ever had a chance to stand up at the beginning and say this is not the way this will happen to me, they just got dragged along by their families.
I had a hard time liking Talynn, simply because of how much anger and resentment she carried toward Crow. It's very easy to see she doesn't have all the facts and that she never really worked off her little girl crush, and her demand that all the rules be followed no matter what was very off-putting. Talynn's desire to take care of everyone around her was the one thing that pulled me closer to her, I could see her need to keep the rest of her family as close as possible and that was totally sweet.
Crow is an enigma, in some parts soft and others hard, it's very easy to see that his chances for a real life passed him by for a long time. It's very easy to see where he just went along and then got stuck in the storm of two families destruction.
Crow is still trying to protect Talynn, Henry, and their father, and I felt so bad for the boy trapped in the man's body. Especially as he and Talynn began to get closer and closer, I just wanted to lock them in a room together until they talked out all their issues, but as usual Henry is coming in between them.
I love the Suspense aspects of this book, and Crow's Redemption Arc, Misty Walker can take any character I was meant to hate and make me fall in love with them!! I seriously hope she continues to write with Diamond Kings MC, the storyline is beautiful, sexy, and just the right amount of angst!
Tropes: dark MC romance, enemies-to-lovers, age-gap, brother’s best friend, virgin hero
Colton Masters has spent twenty years in prison for murdering his best friend. He's now back in Diamond, Texas and is part of the MC as Crow. It was Talynn Davis' brother that Crow supposedly killed and she's now a Sheriff’s Deputy. They had all grown up together and losing her brother was a nightmare for her but to Crow as well. Talynn is still consumed with anger and she'll use the law to make his life as hard as she can in hopes he will leave town. He understands her anger and knows he deserves it but there are things she doesn't know. How will things change when she discovers the truth?
Another home run for this author. I loved this story. The suspenseful plot kept me flipping pages until early in the morning. The characters felt real and I could relate to them. I'm highly recommending this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
This is part of the Diamond Kings MC series and it is centered around the relationship of Colton and Talynn. After years of dealing with the aftermath of a tragedy, Colton returns to his hometown knowing what he will face and choosing to do it anyway. Fortunately, he has his second family, his MC, who is there for him. Talynn has grown up in ways she never expected and became a deputy following in her father’s footsteps as he is the chief of the police department. The one issue that has never left her was the grief she experienced and when she learns of Colton’s homecoming, it brings it all back front and center in her world. However, all may not be what it seems and how will Talynn react when the truth comes out? Ms. Walker has artfully painted a layered storyline showing the emotional upheaval and growth that these characters go through to finally get the closure they all need to move forward. Overall, Colton and Taylnn will make you melt and have you believe in the power of love and second chances.
Colton, aka Crow is currently living with the Diamonds MC club after a stint in jail for killing his best friend’s brother, Ben. Tamlyn, who’s now a deputy sheriff and her brother, Henry, an addict as well as their father, the police chief all live in Diamond.
Tamlyn wants Crow out of Diamond as soon as possible and even though, he found Henry, she’ll never forgive him for ruining her family or killing her brother.. I absolutely loved Tam & Crow’s relationship, it’s issues and all the fun in between.
The twists and turns Misty Walker puts into her storied always leaves me wanting more and finding out what books of hers to devour next
This was an angsty, drama filled, and entertaining story from start to finish. I instantly fell in love with Crow, but I had a very hard time liking Talynn. She comes off immature, juvenile and spazzy. It took almost the whole story for me to like her somewhat. Crow and Talynn do have good chemistry, but Talynn just can’t seem to get past all the heartache that she has been through and ultimately puts all of the blame on Crow.
Lots of emotional turmoil between the two of them that created some intense back and forth banter. So you just knew that the two of them were going to be explosive when Talynn finally grows up and lets her walls come down.
I did enjoy the story overall as the writing was great as usual. There was some suspense, action, mystery, secrets and some very steamy moments that kept me continually reading right to the end – because once I started reading I needed to know how it all would work out in the end.
Crow's Scorn is a slow-burn torture of a novel. Talynn and Colton's (Crow) push and pull relationship is full of misunderstanding and angst however the obstacles to their HEA feel absolutely authentic to the story. Compelling and engaging, Misty flawlessly pulls you into the Diamond Kings MC world.
I am a huge fan of Misty’s Royal Bastards MC books, so I wondered how this one would be because it’s not as dark as those. I didn’t need to wonder at all. This is just as amazing as her other books.
Talynn has to figure out how to live in the same town as the man responsible for all the major losses in her life. As far as she’s concerned the twenty years Crow spent in prison wasn’t nearly enough to make up for what he did.
Crow knows he’s the town pariah for killing Talynn’s brother, the town golden boy. He only came back to his childhood home because the Diamond Kings MC agreed to let him parole with them and tend the horses. All he wants to do is live a peaceful life and stay out of trouble.
I really enjoyed where Misty took this story. She has a way of combining a heart wrenching story with some yummy spice! It was a quick read and a fun ride.
This is part of the Diamond MC series, but they are all written by different authors and can stand on their own. It took one moment, one single second, one action to alter three lives forever. Colt/Crow went to prison and is now back after all those years, back to the place that was his only home. Thankfully he is now a member of the Diamond MC and has a family that will have his back. The past still haunts him but he is learning to move forward, Talynn hating him and causing him issues doesn't really surprise him, he understands, but was hopeful that time would have eased that hate just a bit. Was this a huge mistake coming back to Diamond? Will Talynn forgive him?
Not Misty Walker's normal MC style but holy crap was this a good read. We are getting loads of drama, danger, a bit of violence and some ok naughty bits. I give this 4 stars.
What an emotional rollercoaster! Talynn and Colton took me on such an emotional journey. Colton got an absolutely horrible shake as a teen. I saw the writing on the wall throughout the story, but the gut wrenching reality was still enough to just rip your heart out. Talynn lived through so much loss, but she still had her dad throughout. Colton had nobody throughout his entire struggle... I felt awful for him. This was just so emotional... Watching them struggle to overcome their history.. just wow. Great read!
Misty Walker knows how to craft the perfect book boyfriend. Crow is absolutely fabulous. Learning to live life on the outside after a tragic event, he is anti-hero book boyfriend perfection. Finding solace in his MC brotherhood and his horses, this cowboy biker searches for something to bring him peace in this small town. Talynn's life is a circle of unfortunate events. Trying to keep the scraps of her family together after facing unthinkable tragedy, she's roughened and jaded by life. Learning the man who destroyed her family is back in her small town leads her to the brink of self destruction. Watching this story unfold, or unravel, exposing secrets, lies, betrayal and sadness was absolutely sublime. Seeing the layers peel away to reveal the truth, watching these two burn up in the chaos left me emotionally spent. This story has a great plot, wonderful characters and scenes that made me yell, cry, root and swoon for these characters. The story features an MC that has other books main characters that pop up; but this can be read as a stand alone. All together this is one long rewarding ride.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
At first I thought this book was gonna be bittersweet because it had such a sad premise, missed opportunities mistakes, hiding truths. And then so well written and it changed. Talk about destiny , talk about how no matter what, fate is not always bad, Karma can be good and true love prevails.
I had just found this author and she delivered yet another five-star MC book that was edgy, sexy and pulled at my heartstrings. Colton/Crow was best friends with Talynn’s older brother when they were kids and she had always had a crush on him until she saw something that changed all of their lives forever.
After Colton spent twenty years in prison for a crime, he didn’t commit, he came back home and joined the Diamond Kings MC where they took him in and made him one of their brothers. During this time Talynn’s family, as she knew it, had changed in such drastic ways but her dad was still the Sheriff, as he was been then, though she was now one of his deputies. When she heard Colt was released and living back at home, she paid him a visit on the ranch that the Diamond Kings MC owned.
My heart broke for everything that Colt/Crow had to endure from his young age until now. For me, I couldn’t put this book down because I felt so invested in this story. The storyline had me hoping that there would be a HEA even though they were definitely on different sides of the law. I cannot wait to see what this author brings me next.
Loving the newest book in the Diamond King MC series. I really love Crow and Talynn's story. Crow was sent to jail for killing Talynn's brother. When he is released he is treated like the killer everyone thinks he is. Trying to help Henry, he brings him back to Talynn where he steals from her. Talynn and Crow are thrown together to try and save Henry and their story is explosive and I truly love their beautiful ending. A great edition to this incredible series. New to Misty's books and already a fan.
Misty is a new author to me but I really enjoyed Colton and Talynn’s story. It was edgy, it pulled at my heart strings and emotions. I’m a sucker for a brothers best friend and an MC read and this hit all the marks for me.
Their journey to HEA is definitely a different one and full of bumps and bruises along the way. I loved the dynamic between the cop and con and how that all played into the story. The only thing this story was missing for me was an epilogue. I feel like we waited soooo long for them to finally be together, I wanted a little more. Maybe a glimpse into their future. Other than that, great read.
Misty might be known for her MC romance books but this time this books is more about the couple than the club. Colt/Crow is fresh out of prison and while his hometown isn't exactly welcoming he couldn't care less. There is only one person who's opinion matters to him; Talynn and at first she hates his guts. But when she has no one else to turn to for help she realizes Colt might not be who she thought. This book is about the redemption of this relationship and how people from different sides can always make things work. I love anything from Misty and this was no exception.
Colton was best friends with Talynn’s older brother when something tragic happened and sent Colton to prison. Crow comes from the ashes like a Phoenix rising, knowing that he will have a rough time integrating back into society that abandoned him as a teen. Joining the MC he knows he’ll have to ride the line which he does for the most part - an unfortunate circumstances brings the carefully constructed wall crumbling. My heart broke for everything that Colton/Crow had to endure. From his family’s abandonment, to the people he saw as family letting him take the fall and standing in his way as he tried to right their wrongs. Ohhh, my heart.
Oh my! My heart hurt so bad for Crow while reading this book. He was the victim in this book, but I’m really glad he found love with Talynn, even though she annoyed me but at the same time, my heart broke for her too. I understood her and where she was coming from. I really don’t want to give too much away but I really loved Crow. He took center stage for me, I love that he was sweet but also hard at the same time. Talynn could take care of herself and I liked that about her. She wasn’t A whiney type Heroine which is always a plus. I do plan to see what some of the other authors have come up with in this series because I’m intrigued by the club as a whole after meeting some of the characters. This was a quick, pretty easy read and I was sad when it was over. 4 stars #2OCCJD
One of the best reads with a full range of emotions. Colton who goes by Crow is home after 20 years. Talynn is holding on to her family as much as she can. She will bring out the emotions in the story but Crow will melt your heart.
Oh my!! Crow's story broke my heart. I knew things were not as they seemed with his history and I have to admit to wanting to shakeTal!! On more than one occasion. But when she is in trouble and needs help, Crow steps up without a doubt! When the truth comes out though?!! Holt moly!!
Crow’s Scorn is book two of the Diamond Kings MC series of standalones. As heartbreaking as this story was I loved every word of it! It is a quick read the I read in one sitting. Crow might have done twenty years in prison and be a part of an MC outlaw club but he is a good guy! No matter what was said about him he protected those he loved. Talynn is a sassy spitfire that doesn’t back down from anyone…not even Crow!
This book has action, heartbreak, secrets, angst, suspense, mystery, and spice. If you like motorcycle club romances and are looking for a quick read, then this book is for you!
