I was born and raised in the historical capital of Bulgaria, a charming old town where houses sit perched on a hill above a river. After graduating from college, I moved across the ocean in pursuit of the American dream. Little did I know that my dream did not reside in a certain country or even a continent but was all along within me. It took me a while to start doing what gives me joy; creating stories that make kids and grown-ups, alike, open their minds to the impossible, marvel or laugh. Books are our tickets to adventures. They let us discover and explore fascinating places, and join charming heroes, crooked villains, and magical creatures through unforgettable journeys. More about my upcoming books at dedonibooks.com

This very cute illustrated book written by Diana Aleksandrova and Illustrated by Svilen Dimitrov was such a fun read and shows the powerful love of Mothers and their Babies. Each page features a different animal and the way they love their children. At the end of the book to it shares some facts about the different animals and their babies, for example, an Octopus can in a lifetime lay about 100,000 eggs - however not all those eggs will survive and grow into baby octopuses. As I used to work in the library as a Children's and Teens Programme specialist and running toddler time which is a storytime for 0-4 years old. Mother's Love would have been the perfect book to read during a Mother's Day session or a session celebrating Parents especially Mothers or even an Animals session as the pictures and story is adorable. Mother's Love by Diana Aleksandrova is aimed at children aged 3-6 years old.
Mother’s Love: Animal moms and their babies by Diana Aleksandrova is the cutest book about the how much a mother loves her babies. Whether it be animals of all kinds, wild and tame, or the mother of a human little baby, a Mother’s Love is the same. I love reading the outpouring of love on each page with the moms showing so much love to their babies.
Svilen Dimitrov creates beautiful illustrations for the cover and each page. I love the watercolors and each animal is so precious, it would be hard for me to choose a favorite. I love the human mom and baby illustration, and the joy on their faces. Everything about this beautiful book is adorable! This would be the perfect gift for a new mother or mother to be. You can’t go wrong choosing Mother’s Love by Diana Aleksandrova.

Mother's Love is a very well-written, entertaining book for toddlers and early elementary age chidden. The rhyme is creative and smoothly flows throughout the book. It tells of the different animal mothers with insight into their differences. At the end of the story, there are some interesting trivia about each animal spoken of. It enhances discussion and aids the child in his/her knowledge about the different types of animals. There are also some shot words one can use to aid in spelling and reading exercises. The one thing I didn't lie is - as illustrated on the cover image- the watercolor-painted images were slightly dim and abstract. I like a more defined color and image in illustrated books. I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating *This book was gifted me with no pressure for a positive review. this is my honest review.
This new children's book focuses on the special love that exists between a mother and her baby, and author Diana Aleksandrova illustrates that a mother's love is a natural, God-given instinct. There are ten different animal moms, along with one human mother, and all of them are shown sharing special moments with their babies.
"A mother's love is like the air; you may not see it, but it's there. This love will always help you through. So smile and say, "I love you, too!"
This is such a special book! The rhyming text is a joy to read, the watercolor illustrations are beautiful to see, and children won't realize that they're learning while they're having fun! Mother's Love is a great learning tool for families, and it would also be perfect for a classroom or school library. I highly recommend it and I can't wait to share it with my seven-year-old 'animal lover' granddaughter!
I received this book from the author via iREad Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review and these are my opinions.
I absolutely LOVED this book!! What a beautiful story to share with kids. It's so heartfelt and creates all those warm fuzzy feelings perfect for bedtime memories. I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from iRead Book Tours. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
First and foremost, I would like to praise Svilen Dimitrov’s illustrations. They were absolutely precious. Svilen made animals that we wouldn’t consider cute very adorable. For example, the momma and baby bat hanging side by side from a tree branch. Also, the color choices for each page complemented the animals they accompanied beautifully—all in all, lovely artistic design.
Diana Aleksandrova’s story was sweet. She shows readers how mothers love and take care of their babies. For non-readers, this book will help teach or reinforce animals’ names. For young readers, the text is simple enough most they won’t have too much trouble reading this book alone.
Even though Mother’s Love was designed for younger readers, I enjoyed the “Did You Know” section very much. I didn’t know every fact about octopuses, so thank you for teaching this “old” lady something new. 🙂
My daughter knew most of the facts about the animals, but she said that’s because they had a lesson over them in school. Plus, she loves learning facts about animals. She’s a bookworm. 🙂
No matter what reading level your child is at, I think they’ll fall in love with the animals, the cute babies, dialogue, and bonus material.
Mother's Love: Animal moms and their babies is sweet, charming and delightful little book to read for young readers. Each page shows the relationship between various animal mamas and their little ones. The text is in rhyming form that makes it flow and fun to read. Little ones will get a glimpse of animals from giraffes to polar bears to eagles to humans. I loved reading it with my own young ones and we were excited to find out what animals will come up next as we turn each page.
I adored the illustrations throughout Mother's Love: Animal moms and their babies created by the talented artist, Svilen Dimitrov. I loved the use of the colorful watercolor pictures of the various animals. They were all so cute and precious to get a visual of the story. What a perfect way to read along this book.
I am giving Mother's Love: Animal moms and their babies a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and eight years old and adores reading about animals. I will be looking for more by Diana Aleksandrova and Svilen Dimitrov in the future to share with my children. This one would be a wonderful addition to a local or school library and even a classroom bookshelf. I plan on having keeping my copy to read over and over again.
I received a copy of Mother's Love: Animal moms and their babies from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
The colours in this book are magical and have all the colours of the rainbow making it extremely eye catching to children. This book really made me think of mothers love for their children and vice versa. I fully adored all the descriptions of how animals look and where they live.
Every mother is the same when it comes to the love of their child whatever species you are. I thought it was educational, for one I didn’t know that octopus laid eggs. Thought this was really insightful and interesting. I thought the cute names like ‘jellybean’ for their littles ones was sweet. I call mine mollymoo and joshysquashy.
It shows children exactly what parents do to provide for them as a child growing up. My favourite was definitely the elephant or maybe the polar bears I don’t know I absolutely just loved them all. I suppose it did make me a little bit sad with the kittens and the puppies as they get rehomed into new families all the time so this made me so a awww and think deeply about that.
I loved how the writing flowed and every wording was linked up to the animals with some difference to them all but all focusing on love and affection. I loved it probably introduces new animals to children where they can ask questions about what these animals are.
It has the best part to end the book to give you knowledge you might not know. Especially what baby animals are called too. So adorable. A really special, warm, adorable read.
Pre read this before giving it as a gift. Couldn't get past page three.
This book is about animal mother's and their babies, ok cute.
"Though they may differ from each other, all or them are known as "mother" Caring is what they share, The same as mothers everywhere."
And I guess instead of going the traditional route of applying human emotions/points of view/behaviors to mother's of the animal kingdom they went a more....nature documentary type style I guess is the best way I have to describe it.
For example, the mother octopus will guard her unhatched eggs with her life to the point of starvation, and a koala well... Just here are some quotes so you can see what I mean.
"Beneath the waves I lay my eggs, then say goodbye with all eight legs. My love for you is deep and true, I give my life so you can live too."
Oddly sweet, I guess.
But the koala bear page... Is slightly weirder and not technically correct, if we're being specific.
"I'll keep you closest to my heart. I Pledge we'll never be apart. The greatest mon I want to be The home you have is part of me. I'll keep it warm and lick it clean I love you my jellybean"
I just... I just couldn't with this one. It was so weird, and cringy.
A mother’s love for her child is precious and special. They are nurtured and developed before they are born and each mother protects and grows her child in a different way.
I loved learning about the special bond between mother and their baby in this beautifully told story. While we learn about all different animals and the bonds they share, at the heart of the story – we are all the same regardless of what we look like on the outside. We love, care, protect and guide our babies the best way we know how to. We all want to see our babies soar, be safe and be ready for the future. We see the story told through the eyes of an octopus, a koala, a penguin, a cat and so much more. The story flows so well and was a treasure to read aloud. The illustrations were soft and warm, and worked well to bring the story of love and strength to life.
This is a beautifully written and illustrated children’s book celebrating the special bond and love between parent and child. It is a welcome addition to your child’s home library and would make a beautiful gift to a new Mom.
Mother’s Love is both entertaining and educational. The sweet rhyming text reveals various animal moms and how they care for their young. The water-colored illustrations are colorful, showing sweet moments between mother and child.
The rhymes are fun and lilting, and help children discover the unique ways that different species show their love. With elephants, koalas, octopus, etc. there are so many varieties of animals and unique ways each kind shows affection and care.
The last few pages of the book explains the different baby animals at birth and how long it takes for them to mature and care for themselves. In the meantime, their mothers take good care of them.
This sweet and gentle children’s book is sure to be a favorite of little animal lovers. I know my grandson loves the rhyme, rhythm, and cute pictures.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review was not influenced.
I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
This is a sweet book about different kinds of mothers. All mothers love their children but sometimes they show it in different ways, and they take care of their babies in different ways. For example, a koala has a pouch where her baby grows or a king penguin shares incubating time with her mate. Even though species are different, all moms love their babies.
Mother’s Love is written in rhymes and is easy to read. Both adults and children will enjoy the information at the end about the different moms and babies as well as what the babies are called. I didn’t know octopus babies were called larvae!
Mother's Love is a sweet children's book that showcases a variety of animal moms and their unconditional love for their babies. From koalas to elephants, and even cats and dogs, the book features special traits for each animal and how mamas care for their babies. Young readers will delight in learning more about these animals, while also enjoying the delightful rhyming scheme and lovely illustrations. A wonderful book for parents to share with their young readers to show how much they love them too. 5 stars!
While this book is sure to warm your heart, it is also educational. The soft watercolor illustrations will provide several “aww” moments as they are so sweet. The sweet rhymes may help lull your child to sleep.
Ten different animal mothers (orangutans, King penguin, and human mother, to name just three) tell the reader how she shows her love for her baby. They are all just so sweet.
I think all children will enjoy this book but especially for our little animal lovers.
Mother's Love: Animal moms and their babies by Diana Aleksandrova was a very cute and sweet kids book. The word choice was perfect for a young audience and the pictures were simply adorable. I liked the way the author portrayed a mother's love in this kids book.
Gorgeous illustrations! Written in beautiful Rhyme. This is a beautifully written book about the unconditional love of all mothers. Great for children to learn about all types of mother’s unconditional love from animals to their own mother. A must have for any library!
This is one of the sweetest mommy/baby books out there. Amazing watercolor-style illustrations accompany Diana's lovely text and interesting facts about animal mothers.
Both the pictures and the writing are stunning in this book. The rhyme is fantastic, and the illustrations are beautiful. Children will love learning about the animal moms and their offspring. The author has done an outstanding job.
I would like to thank the author and iRead Book Tours for the review copy in exchange for my honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Diana Aleksandrova dedicated it to moms everywhere and it resonates throughout the book. Through lyrical voice Diana Aleksandrova shows many ways that moms show their love for their children. I loved the different animals shown (and how neat it was that she included what animal kids are called, therefore adding to the educational side), each one with a beautiful and brightly colored illustration.
My Favorite was the Elephant:
“The wait seemed endless, giving birth. My child’s the biggest one on Earth. Your tantrums keep me ‘on my toes,’ as you extend your lengthy nose.”
It was just too cute! The whole book really captured my kid’s attention and they loved it, because of the different animals and the colors used. They also liked learning more about the animals in the back of the book where Diana Aleksandrova added some cool facts about each one.
A definite 5-star book.
And coolly enough it was published (at least printed) in Coppell, TX right in my backyard!
*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
We all know I love a good rhyming book and Mother’s Love did not disappoint in that area. It rhymed perfectly!
The illustrations are some of the prettiest things I have ever seen! I almost want to tear the pages out and post them on my wall as they are gorgeous water paintings of mothers and baby/babies.
Each ‘creature’ in the book shows a momma with her baby/babies (because some moms have more than one) and each has a cute little rhyming piece about their baby and their love for their baby. It really is a sweet sentiment that brought me chills.
At the end of the book, there is a little info on each animal that was in the book, as well as what the animals baby/babies are called. For example, a baby koala is born the size of a jellybean and is blind, hairless and has no ears. Baby octopi are called larvae. Making Mother’s Love not only a cute story, but an educational story too!
This book will make the perfect gift for a new mom – or even an experienced mom. It is super cute in every way!
This is a beautiful children’s story of a mother’s love for her child. We visit a variety of animal mothers and read about how they show their love to their child. It was interesting to read about the differences between species!
The story is quite beautiful, but the illustrations are a standout in this one. They are beautifully created, and they really draw you into each page. My daughter loved looking at them, and I enjoyed them as well!
I think this is a great book for preschool through early elementary children. It’s a good bedtime story, but would be great in libraries as well!
I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
