When I find out I’m carrying the baby of Demetri Sokolov, I’m terrified. I’m left with no other choice but to run away. Instead of forgetting about me, he searches for where I disappeared. Hiding his unborn child is a sin not even a mafia princess will get away with when he finds out.
He has a reputation for violence, cruelty, and being unforgiving. So how can he forgive my betrayal? Is there any hope for love amid a world
Emily Bowie is a USA Today bestselling author. She's from a small town in Western Canada.
From the time she could place her thoughts on paper, she has been making characters come to life through her writing. She loves her white wine cold, her heels red, and her books spicy.
She married her high school sweetheart and they have two amazing children.
Great conclusion to the series! Katrina Rossi has always been the black sheep of her mafia family, but getting knocked up by Demetri Sokolov after a one night stand takes the cake. Demetri is the head of the Bratva and her family's enemy, leaving Katrina to feel like she has no other option but to run. Once Demetri realizes she's pregnant with his baby, there's no way he's going to let her. Sinful Queen by Emily Bowie is the 5th book in the Dark Mafia Sins series and can be read as a standalone. It is told from dual perspective.
Such a great ending to the Rossi's family saga. The storyline was fun, had tons of twists and turns, and moved quickly. I thought it was so funny how you can love Luca in Luca's book, but hate him in Katrina's lol - and the same with Katrina. Wasn't sure how I was going to feel about her based on the previous books, but you definitely felt more sympathetic to her issues after reading the story from her perspective. I loved how Demetri recognizes her worth and sees her for the Queen she is.
This book pleasantly surprised me and was the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic series. For at least the first half it was good, but kept losing my attention a bit, and honestly I couldn't tell you why, could be because the main characters frustrated me both separately and together at times, or could just be as simple as the head space I'm in. Because once the puzzle pieces seemed to be starting to come together and then the plot twist happened...I was fully invested, madly turning pages and unable to look away. I did not see that coming and loved every second of it. Cannot wait to see what the author comes up with next.
This is the 5th book in this exception series, and this is Demitri and Katrina’s story. Demitri is the head of the Bratva, and he is savage, brutal, ruthless, and feared. Katrina is the black sheep in her family, and she is desperate to escape her life. When these two cross paths the sparks fly, and they chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable, but when Katrina runs, he is hot on her heals determined to find her. This is a well written story which has twists, tension, drama, angst, suspense, danger, intrigue, and love, which leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Give Me Books and the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I just love this series and this one was absolutely the best. I loved these two characters, and they were just made for each other. This was full of suspense and loads of drama, which made the book so interesting I had a hard time putting it down. I love every series written by Emily, but this one has been my absolute favorite.
WOW!! I absolutely loved this book. There were times I hated Demetri and times I wanted to praise him and worship the ground he walked on. He was the epitome of a Bratva boss in my eyes. Katrina is strong, independent and not afraid to stand up to someone who people would normally back down and away from. I loved her. Well done Emily. This was amazing.
Katrina and Demetri finally get their story told! And what a story it was! Dang.
I was fully invested in this story. From the very first page to the very last, I was not putting it down. And I may have sacrificed a little sleep because of it. Totally worth it though.
There were some twists and turns in this book that I was not expecting, and that had me on the edge of my seat. Especially toward the end. Once I picked my jaw up off the ground I was trying to see if I missed clues to this earlier on, but I'm not thinking so.
Fully enjoyed the story, and have been captivated by the entire series. Kudos to Emily Bowie on creating these fantastic characters, and telling their stories.
Emily Bowie has once again amazed me with another perfectly created couple and story. I absolutely loved this book so much. I still have a couple books left to read in this series but it is just absolutely fantastic. I’m actually sad that this is the last book in this series of standalone books. Each one focuses on different couples and their struggle to find their HEA.
And Katrina and Dimitri’s story is no different. But in a way it was way more difficult because both our leading characters fight deeply with trust issues stemming from past traumas. Katrina sees herself as the black sheep of her family, the girl who can do nothing right. Dimitri has nearly lost everything he holds dearly and refuses to let his daughter get to close to him fearing she will be taken away just like his first wife. Then one day they meet and it’s like neither know how to not want the other. Dimitri knows she must be his forever, then circumstances happen and she forces his hand in marriage as if he’d refuse but she doesn’t need to know that. But things happen and well you’ll have to read this awesome book to find out just how crazy things get for these two. Things tend to get heated when it’s between the Italian Mafia and the Russian Bratva though.
This book has all the feels, lots of twists and turns, and betrayal from unsuspecting sources and forgiveness doesn’t come easily for two individuals who have had their hearts broken repeated throughout life. But these two do eventually get their HEA it’s just not an easy road getting there. Highly recommend this book and this entire series!!
This is the fifth and final book in this series. I think they should be read in order. But they can be read as standalone books. I have found that the timeline of these books overlaps with previous books in the series. This book focus on Katrina and Demertri. Demertri is the head on the Russian mafia. They meet by chance. Katrina just wants to find a normal man and have a normal family. Instead, she Demertri. Their relationship is interesting. They just can’t seem to stay away from each other. Then Katrina winds up pregnant and disappears. Demertri isn’t going to just let her go. Things get even more interesting when Katrina comes out of hiding. Katrina figures she can stop the war between their families by marrying Demertri. Demertri sees this as a two birds one stone kind of deal as he wants to marry her anyway. Demertri begins to see a different side of himself once he begins his marriage with Katrina. But there is more going on the Demertri knows. Someone/s is trying to make it look like Katrina only married him to get inside their organization. That she and her family are planning something. Katrina has already been through so much in her life and Demertri now has plans to make her life hell. This book was such a fantastic read. I think it was my favorite of the series. I feel for Katrina. She seems like the forgotten child of the family. That nothing she does is good enough. Fantastic job Emily. I look forward to reading more books by Emily. I highly recommend this series.
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶 Written in first person POV switched from FMC and MMC F/M romance
After reading the blurb, I was expecting a different book than what I read. I honestly thought it was going to focus more on Katrina being in hiding while pregnant. The story completely skips all that, and goes from them falling in love to when Demetri finds her. That being said, this story has potential, but it was just missing a few key things for me. I kept wanting more from the plot and definitely more character development for just about everyone.
I absolutely love dark romances with possessive alpha men. I understand mafia romances can be very male dominating with females having no say so, but Demetri completely rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like he took things way to far. The way he was able tie someone he supposedly loved down in a dungeon like area to starve, isolate her, humiliate, and take her away from the new born was just wrong. Then he had the guts to crush her soul with words. Afterwards, he expected her just to forgive him and move on like nothing happened.
I felt Katrina deserved a lot more from life. Everyone was just awful to her, and she was just supposed to forgive, let go, and move on. I honestly felt so bad for her. I couldn’t imagine what I would have done in her situation. I do wish she matured more by the end, but her character was pretty young.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Sinful Queen by Emily Bowie is a dark mafia romance. It's the fifth book from the Dark Mafia Sins series.
This one is about Katrina Rossi, the Italian mafia princess who was also the black sheep of her family, and Demetri Sokolov the Russian mafia boss.
It's a sinfully delicious Italian/Russian mafia romance. The plot is engaging, with a couple of twists and it's filled with bloody scenes and some steamy ones. The romance is fast-paced. The characters are great. Demetri is the dark and dangerous type, very bossy but also caring. Katrina at first is like a tormented young girl but she grows into a strong woman. They had fantastic chemistry. I loved how he treated her, like a true queen. My favorite moment was when Katrina was in full mom mode.
If you like this genre I highly recommend it. I will rate it with 4 stars.
I read the first book of this series and that one was also not for me, but I had heard so many good things about this one so I thought I’d still give it a shot.
This book wasn’t what I was looking for either. The storyline was interesting but there were too many plot twists that made it difficult to understand what was actually going on.
The heroine was really likable at first all though she in the story had her flaws. But towards the middle she started to become a bit distant which made it harder for me to relate to her and understand certain actions and decisions she made.
The hero was kinda all over the place yet very true to what I would expect from an Russian Mafia.
What my main issue was that the story had multiple endings. But the author decided to continue which I felt was a bit unnecessary to the whole storyline.
The mark of a real man, is a man who can allow himself to fall deeply in love with a woman...
Exceptional and extraordinary are the first words that come to mind after reading this story. Emily Bowie makes you feel like you are right there alongside the characters. Demetri Sokolov is brutal, savage and fierce. When he meets Katrina all bets are off. The magnetism these two have for each other cannot be denied. Katrina makes a decision that is risky and could possibly not end well.
Their story is addictive, riveting, full of tension and uncertainty. This quickly became my favorite in the series. I am hoping there will be more to come.
I rated this book a 4.5 stars. I absolutely loved how this book kept my attention from beginning to end. It was fast paced, spicy, and action packed. Katrina was such a strong FMC, and I love when the main character has emotional breakthroughs. Katrina for sure had a huge change throughout the book. The spice was hot, hot, hot. If you love mafia romance this series is a great one!!
I am loving this whole series. It is everything I want in mafia stories and more. All my dark needs are satisfied after this binge worthy series. It has to be one of my favorites. A top book of 2022. I got a feeling of exhilaration when I first read this, and I may read it again.
What an incredible conclusion to the series although I am definitely sad it's the end. I really want more from them. This story was extremely addictive and so perfectly written I couldn't put it down. It was an absolutely incredible story to read. This whole series is a must read.
Emily did it again. She hooked me from the first few lines. I couldn’t put it down and finished it within 4/5hrs. Now I’m sad I finished it so fast. I wish there was more.
Katrina is the sister we thought was dead in the other books then she turns up pregnant and at the end of the last book her husband shows up. Now we know he is Demetri from the Russian mafia.
They meet at a bar, then run into each other again so decide to go for it both knowing its one night. They find out who each other is but he can not stay away from her. He robs her gallery and they have sex again. There's never any birth control talk so I don't know why she is so surprised when she gets preggers.
When she disappears he searches everywhere. She shows up preggers to her sisters wedding and he sees her and demands he tell her who the father is. She eventually tells him its his so he forces her to marry him.
When there daughter is born Demetri says she is the most precious thing he has ever seen even though he already has a daughter. I didn't think we were ever going to meet her but we did eventually.
It seems for a while he really loves her and he even sticks up for her against her family but she does one thing he doesn't like and he locks her in his basement. He wont let her see the kids and he is so cruel to her. I legit hated him from then on.
She gets kidnapped and I saw it coming. I knew something was off about them. He comes and rescues her and all is well
She says she just wants to be normal fr the first half of the book then spends the second half saying she will never be normal. The word normal is overused in this book.
Her family are actual awful to her. She made a few mistakes, so what she's family but they way they all just shit on her. Even after reading all their books and liking them for the most part, I did not like them in this book. They all came across as aresholes
I don't think she should have forgiven him. He didn't deserve it or her. I honestly would not have minded if this book ended whit them not together. It had a nice epilogue though!
and I am being very generous, mostly because I didn't skim through it, but character-wise they were so frustrating lol. I was so excited about the plot and the first half was okay-ish but then I think the author didn't know what to do with the characters.
There was a scene where Demetri locked up Katrina in the basement, and that was because he thought she betrayed him by killing his bestie Eva. Now, first, I didn't care about Eva - she was a bitch towards Katrina and obvs had feelings for Demetri, so I was pissed that Demetri locked Katrina up like he cared more about Eva and didn't give Katrina the chance to explain ??? and I am even more pissed that Katrina forgave him so fast like respecting yourself would be great 🙄🙄 Demetri literally killed your dad in front of you and even humiliated/tortured you in various occasions.
Anyways, the book was a fast read and entertaining but def not a favourite.
Sorry but I hate Katrina she’s the WOAT in the other books but yet an entirely different character here? Like she goes from being an addict to it never even coming up as a problem? Why did she run away only to simply come back? She gets locked in the basement starved for days and then gets back w him?? Ew no sorry MAJOR PASS

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
He rules the Bratva. And now he wants to rule me. Being the black sheep in the mafia family is hard. I desperately want to escape my life and I thought I found a nice, regular man to do that with. Demertri Sokolov is anything but those three qualities. He rules the Bratva, making my family look like saints. He has a reputation for violence, cruelty and being unforgiving. My heart drums with anticipation each time I see him, even though I know it's wrong. We have enough chemistry to explode a room. I should have known he was a horrible decision that I continued to play with. When I find out I'm carrying his baby, I'm terrified. I'm left with no other choice but to run away. Instead of forgetting about me, he searches for where I disappeared. Hiding his baby is a sin not even a mafia princess will get away with when he finds out. He may be handsome, but he's not the type to fall in love. When he finds me, will he take or kill me because of my betrayal? Will he see a choice.
This is a standalone in the Dark Mafia Sins series. I am going to go ahead and tell you that when you pick up this book, you are not going to be putting it down. Demertri and Katrina's story is one of angst and a surprise pregnancy and is smoking hot at times. These two have so much chemistry it literally comes off the pages in waves. He is the head of the Bratva and is as savage as he is good looking and the man is smoking hot. He is ruthless and brutal and rules with an iron fist. Katrina is a girl who is the black sheep of her family and she is desperately trying to escape the life that she has. When she meets Demertri it is a meeting that neither of them will ever forget and the sparks are flying all over the place. She knows who he is and knows his reputation of being ruthless but that does't sway her for a second. However Katrina is on the run and hiding something she shouldn't be from him. What will he do when he finds her. Because trust me he will find her!!! This book is filled with twists and turns that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can. I loved every single second and now I am off to read the books I missed in this series. This was the first time I have read a Emily Bowie book and it for sure won't be the last.
Katrina is definitely a tortured soul, and her family sure doesn't do anything to help her not feel that way. She's pretty much viewed as the black sheep of the family, and let me tell you, she takes that very seriously, which I believe is why she tends to shoot herself in the foot. She catches the eye of Demetri at a bar one night, and they hook up & it was certainly HOT as hell but things go in the way so she got away, and Demetri became obsessed to the point that I wanted to take him out myself. Let me tell you, I'm always down for a good anti-hero because they are yummy, AND I even forgive them for their questionable deeds, but I need to see the consequences to them before the forgiveness comes from me. He made a very big mistake towards Katrina that really left a bad taste in my mouth, and she never got even a little revenge against him, and that's what I need from my books no matter how dark they are but it's a personal preference. Luckily for me, there were other things I LOVED about this book like the twists I never saw coming which definitely made me happy. I really do love this author's work, so at the end of the day, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
2.5☆ He locked her in a cage naked (the MMC gets aroused by the sight of her in this position), starved her, and didn't let her see her baby.
He realises his mistake when his cousin abducts the FMC. He goes to her rescue but ultimately chooses to save their kids (who we later find out weren't even there). She then tries to save him. After this, it seems like the FMC has forgiven the MMC. This is until she receives divorce papers.
However, this is not the end. The MMC misses her and just wants to see her and touch her so he practically follows her to see her (she comments on this). But things move on and he buys a house and shows it to the FMC and then baby-proofs everything thoroughly so he can keep the children overnight. When this is done he asks the FMC to move in with him (she says no).
All of this is not great but I could excuse some of these actions if the MMC grovelled. But he barely did this. He gave his excuse for why he acted like he did then asked her to marry him again.

Sinful Queen was such a great ending to this series one that ensured it ended on a high, I loved how Katrina grew in this book because let's be honest her family haven't always been on her side seeing her as more of a liability than anything, but that isn't the real Katrina, has she made mistakes sure but there is a depth to her too, the chance meeting in a bar sees a sizzingly night of passion between Katrina and Demetri, who don't know each other, Katrina thinking Demetri is a lumberjack! but it is going to get a whole lot more fun when they do. The twists and turns were excellent, with some jaw-dropping moments when you least expect it and I can't wait to see what is next from Emily Bowie.
Demetri is a powerful man who is accustomed to getting what he wants both when it comes to his career as a Bratva boss and women. When he sees Katrina he knows they are meant to be together and isn’t about to just let her walk out of his life.
Katrina is already trying to distance herself from a life she doesn’t want so despite the feeling she has for Demetri she doesn’t believe that they have a future together but she is about to find out that she has met her match.
Surprises you don’t see coming, suspense that keeps you on edge as Demetri and Katrina share a chemistry and connection that is impossible to deny.
