I was one of the lucky winners of this book here on goodreads.

Anna's story begins with unimaginable pain and heartbreak. She does have one constant and good thing in her life......her Uncle.
He gives her a gift/opportunity to start over. Which is exactly what she does when she arrives at the small town of Silver Cliff. The town and its inhabitants give her a sense of peace
With a new beginning and a heart willing to live without love Anna makes a life she is more than content with until Nathan walks in and her pulse picks up and her mind goes where she hasn't wanted or allowed it to go since she started over.

Nathan comes off as an ass even though everything about Anna calls to him.

This isn't a immediate hookup. He is sarcastic and rude to her and he's pretty sure it's all about his insecurities. His past makes it hard to move forward as does hers. YET....these two are meant for each other. Just read the book to follow them through all the steps they take to trust and believe in happiness again.

Great character plots with indepth description. I found myself laughing at the wit, sarcasm and great supporting character's along with deep pain for their pasts and a tear or two for some emotional scenes. I look forward to more books about the residents of Silver Cliff and the highly entertaining Kent family.

Anna James has had a crappy life. Her family all died while she was young, her first boyfriend was mentally and physically abusive, and when she opened up her heart again to another man he cheats. To say Anna has had enough of the human population is putting it mildly. She has one uncle whom she's close to but he's a busy man. He does provide the opportunity for Anna to start fresh away from her ugly memories. She hops in her car and travels until she gets to the small quaint town of Silver Cliff. Anna's heart is so broken which prevents her from making deep connections with people. Now that she's living in Silver Cliff can Anna finally heal and allow the Kent family in? Nathan Kent has been burned too and has become a playboy. Nathan has heard about the amazing Anna from his family for awhile but hasn't met her yet. Once they meet they are both on guard so of course fireworks erupt between them. Can they heal eachother's hearts? Or are they both to stubborn to allow the other in? After many misunderstandings and fights will these two finally give in to the passion they feel? Elena Kincaid does a great job of taking the reader on a emotional journey of pain, heartache, friendship, love, and finding the path to unshatter hearts. I loved every minute of the journey that Anna and Nathan had to endure in order to find each other especially when they had to confront their pasts. Can't wait to see what happens with the other characters in this story.

Anna has had a heart breaking life. When life totally went wrong, she decided to make a new life for herself. She got in her car and drove. When she got to Silver Cliff, she knew she was home. She never thought she would ever trust another man let alone fall in love with one. Until she meets Nathan.

Nathan has been burned by all the women in his life. Ever since he has chosen to burn up the sheets of other women. When he goes home to start his life over again, he finds himself half in love with Anna before he even gets there thanks to his cousin. Now, all he has to do is find out how to get her to fall in love too.

They start their new lives together and figure out how to survive when their past lives threaten their new ones.

This is the first book of Ms. Kincaid's that I have read, and I plan on reading more.

This book is angsty and emotional, so prepare yourself to catch some major feels. Anna really made my heart ache, and I could even feel some sympathy towards Nathan (when he wasn't being a jerk!). These two had amazing chemistry and I felt that every interaction they shared generated a ton of hot sparks. Which was great because things a pretty slow burning as far as their relationship goes and honestly that makes perfect sense considering the history that is in play here. Altogether, I thought this was a very good romance that gives your heart a solid workout. I'm eager to read more of this new series. I am independently posting a frank review.

Unshattered by author Elena Kincaid is the first in the Silver Cliff series. I cannot tell you how much I loved the pure romance feel of this book. It has been a long time since an erotic romance, that I have read really made me feel like this one did. I love the feeling this one gave me lots like the Harliquin Romances I used to read as a kid. I really loved that pure romance feel.
Anna James is a spunky, quirky, and sharp lady. She has been through hell and back. She has come out the other side a little jaded. But she is stronger for her experiences. I always love a strong heroine. She really is one.
Nathan, he has been through a rough marriage and equally rough childhood. Never really been wanted for him. Never really had anyone in his corner. He is loyal, kind, and just a little bit naughty and a whole lot sexy.
These two have a lot in common and need each other. I liked how the buildup came in this book. Nothing is rushed. There is hot sex but there is so much more to this story. I would really love to read more in this series in the future. I hope there are tons more. I know I will be looking for more books by Ms. Kincaid, I love her style and storytelling very much.

The author brings to life Anna James a woman that has had the worst life ever thought possible. And when I say worse, I mean the very worst. Not only did she lose her family very early in life leaving her with an uncle who she was close to, but also as she grew up she encountered domestic violence and worse yet a cheating partner.

With a broken heart and in search for a change in her life Anna finds Silver Cliff. In this town Anna meets the Kent Family and eventually Nathan Kent who is also coping with a broken heart. An intriguing story that will have you emotional, fighting for them and at the same time fighting with them because of everything that happens. Their relationship starts as many others with friendship, lots and lots of drama, pain, and much more. In truth this story was a lot better than I expected.

The characters and storyline delivered what I wanted to see; however, I can’t wait for the rest of the characters to have their own story or for the author to expand more on them. I would totally recommend this story with 4.5 diamonds and 4 flames because this author is not shy about telling you how it’s done.

(request submitted by author for an honest critique)

As a humungous fan of Superman/Clark Kent, I gave a loud "whoop" when Elena referenced the man of steel and even gave the lead man the last name of Kent. It was a perfect fit for him too. He did come to Anna's rescue when she needed him after her nightmares and dealing with PTSD. That poor woman had more than her share of troubling times and heartache. She lost both her parents, grandmother, and was the victim of physical and psychological abuse.

It takes a strong woman to bounce back from all that. Yes, she is one WONDERful WOMAN.

Oh yeah, I went there. HA!!

Oh and Elena, you are 100% correct -- "Superman is way cooler than Batman."

OK on a more serious note, these two were truly a memorable couple. They laughed together, cried together, and even managed to kick a little ass together. Well, maybe one more than the other BUT I won't go into too much more detail. Buy the book and see who's fanny took a beating and why.

Wiw, not sure where to start on this book.
Annahaving been through so much abuse and empty promises decided to leave New York and just drive until she was ready to stop. Finally this tiny town called Silver Cliff beckons her heart and her stomach to stay. After her new fondness for the local diners famous peach cobbler, she slowly feels like she has found a new home and over time a new family. Once Anna and Nathan finally admitt to themselves that they were in love with each other, they build a bond like they never have before. Both having been emotionally hurt badly in the past the both are still cautious of events that could tear them apart forever....fate can be a bitch sometimes.

I loved this book. The main characters and secondary were very well written and believable. Once I picked up the book I didn't want to put it down. I can't think of anything in this book that I didn't enjoy it had the perfect mix of love, drama, passion and conquering all that gets in the way It can be a stand alone book but Im looking forward to reading more about these characters.

Great read. Anna and Nathan were both likable and lovely characters. I appreciate how there was instant attraction, but the relationship started as friends, and grew from there; it just seems to create a more solid bond when the characters are given time to know each other.
The storyline was interesting and side characters were a complement to the H/h. Charlie was adorable :)

Great book! I really didn't like Anna all that much, but because of Ms. Kincaid's terrific writing, I still felt for her. She drew me right in and wouldn't let go to the last word! Definitely recommend!

Anna’s mom died when she was younger, dad and Grandma when she was just starting college (?). She was then abused by her first boyfriend and cheated on by the next.

Nathan’s mom left him and his dad when he was young to go off on her own, selfish way. He marries a woman who just uses him and cheats on him.

They both have a history of rejection, Anna has the added element of the death of loved ones.

Things I liked: Nathan the MH. I loved reading his point of view, I loved how sweet he was and how he worked on Anna’s issues. He initially has a few issues based on his past with women being untrustworthy (mom, wife) and doesn’t do the whole commitment thing as a result. Once meeting Anna he realizes she’s special and wants the chance to get to know her. I liked that. I liked that even though he wasn’t doing the commitment thing he was mature/ smart enough to know all women weren’t the same and went for it when he found someone he felt was worth getting to know.

Anna’s uncle. Pretty sweet, cool guy. Charlie, Nate’s dad, was nice.

Also liked how Nathan worked on some of Anna’s issues. Like thunderstorms- that was sweet.

What I wasn’t a fan of: Anna. She was physically abused by first boyfriend and then cheated on by the second boyfriend. That alone would have been enough for me to be sympathetic to her. BUT wait! There’s more! Her family has passed away, she only has her loving uncle left…. And she wears that sadness like a prickly badge. When asked anything about her family (I’m not including when she first met Nathan and felt he was interrogating her) she acts like she’s the only one to have lost anyone. I don’t know- maybe I’m an emotionless robot? Anyways that sad sack, I’m going to be strong (but not) survivor, that is snarky (came out bitchy - sorry but it did) really started to grate on my nerves. I honestly wanted to scream at her to get over herself.

The spice level, once Nathan and Anna got to that point, was steamy.

I received this book from Voracious Readers Only for an honest review.

Unshattered is a fast-paced book that is both sweet and very spicy. It follows schoolteacher Anna and former big-city corporate lawyer Nathan as they go from wary acquaintances to steamy lovers, with a lot of strong luuuurvey emotion in the middle.

The story takes place in the small town of Silver Cliff, Nathan's hometown. Anna ended up there after leaving bad memories behind in Brooklyn. Nathan returns there a year after her, tired of representing companies at the expense of the little guy. Both have troubled relationships in their pasts as well, making them a little leery of each other at first. Nathan, after a few months of an internal battle, determines that Anna is worth fighting for, and he does have a bit of work ahead of him. All that aside, their path to coupledom is relatively easy. It's their histories that present issues here and there, most of them predictable of the trope.

While I liked the story and would probably read the next books in the series (this one is the first in the Silver Creek series), I did find Anna's and Nathan's characterization a little problematic. The book blurb describes Anna as "snarky," but both Anna and Nathan instead come across as immature at times, acting more like teenagers or college kids than as the grown ups they are supposed to be. It made them--especially Nathan--unlikeable at times, though both are quick to realize and own up to their respective stupidities.

Note: When they do get together, the steam level is incinerating, frequently crossing into raunchy. Just a note of warning for those who prefer less explicit sexy times.

Trigger warnings: Violence, harassment, domestic violence (in the past but described), death of parents (also in the past but described)

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest. Thanks!

Unshattered by Elena Kincaid is the first installment in her new ( Silver Cliff Series ) end what a fantastic start it is . So angsty and emotional, full of heartbreak, slow burn , off the charts chemistry, trauma, tragedy, and two of the most intriguing and multi layered characters you will meet .Anna’s life has been far from easy . Her family died when she was a child , she suffered both emotional and physical abuse in her first relationship and them on top of that her next relationship ends when she catch her significant other cheating . When given the chance to move and start over she doesn’t hesitate. To say she’s been through more trauma then anyone should have to endure is a understatement. Nathan comes into her life when she least expects it - he too has been burned badly in relationships. He is now living there life of a playboy. But once they meet all bets are off , the attraction is instant yet both are hesitant to open up and let there walls down . This is a slow burn romance written so beautifully, it’s steamy and emotional and so full of intrigue. It will pull at your heartstrings so completely. Can two people who have suffered so much heartbreak open their hearts again and find love .

I love romance novel especially the ones with HEA and a sense of reality.

When I started to read the novel and came to part were Anna and Nathan met and the rude conversation started that depicted a sense of reality into the story as most of the times in those situation the conversation starts to move towards rudeness. If writer would have written something like the conversation went smoothly and spend hours in talking I would have been slightly disappointed. But I liked that writer sticked to the reality.

The supporting characters have so much depth into them I would definitely like to explore that. I am guessing that the next book will be of Ruby and Wyatt because I wanted to know what happened to their relationship when at the end of book when Ruby mentioned something to Anna I hoped that Ruby would open but she didn't open so I guess writer was planning another book for them.

Coming to the book I liked how the relationship between Anna and her uncle Edward was like close to father daughter. The book was amazing and totally worth the time. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.

New to me author and series. This book was hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters and felt that they were relatable.
Annalise or Anna has had a rough life. Her family died early in her childhood and she’s had abusive/cheating boyfriends. It’s her uncle that finally tells her she doesn’t have to stay. She can go anywhere else to find happiness and enjoy life.
Nathan is a lawyer from New York but his family is all in Silver Cliff. He also has had bad past relationships. I did not like his wife at all.
His cousin sends him a picture of Anna but the first couple meetings they have don’t go well. I loved being able to read this from two different POVs. Nathan really cared about Anna pretty quickly. She kept fighting her feelings because she was afraid of losing him and because of her past relationships.
I wasn’t expecting the accident towards the end or the little suspense that the author threw in but I enjoyed seeing Anna hold her own/defend herself.
I did enjoy this story and I’m interested in seeing Ruby and Carla’s stories because they played a big part in Anna’s story.

Anna is running from a broken relationship when she stumbles upon silver cliff, the warmth of the locals instantly make her feel safe there and she decides to stop running and make it her home.
She has heard about Nathan from the rest of the Kent family but although attracted to each other they initially run each other up the wrong way.
Both Anna and Nathan have had there fair share of heartbreak and neither of them are ready to risk their hearts again.
For that reason their relationship starts as friends (after a few run ins) before anything romantic happens all while they both try to deny their feelings for each other.
I think a slow burn romance and a warm local town go well together. You get to know the characters more and fall for the town and the locals who live there as well as the main characters.
I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from the kind, warm friendly characters of silver cliff.

Anna Jones is a woman, that has faced many challenges and so in finding Silver Cliff, she finds a place which heals her past, where she has faced the loss of both parents and domestic violence that saw her ex-partner in jail. Yet despite her latest heartbreak of a cheating partner, she is drawn to Nathan Kent, who is also shouldering a broken heart.
Anna and Nathan struggle at first in their relationship, trying to separate their past from their present relationship. This was a realistic portrayal of the insecurities that people face, with all the baggage that they bring to the relationship. I enjoyed seeing this relationship go from strength to strength and in Anna, believing in Nathan, who appears more resolute in his feelings for her. I so look forward to reading more books in this series, as the secondary characters also added to the complexity of the storyline.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A standard thriller romance, Unshattered follows the struggles of Anna after she escapes her dark past for a life change in a small town. She meets big shot lawyer Nathan who grew up there and has recently moved back.

It has heavier levels of steam and is a fairly quick and easy read. This would be a good weekend beach read.

Lots of trigger warnings which are frequently seen in this genre/style: Violence, harassment, domestic violence, death of parents.

Nathan and Anna were okay main characters, sometimes making immature choices due to their insecurities from prior relationships. It is honestly a Hallmark movie turned into a book, which so many will dive right into. Lots of drama, heat and a splash of suspense and danger. It’s not a book that will blow you out of the water but it’s a good guilty pleasure read to tuck into.

Anna, a schoolteacher, has lost just about everyone she loves. When she catches her boyfriend kissing his ex, she realizes she needs to start over. So she starts driving and ends up in this cute little town of Silver Cliff. Nathan is a New York lawyer but returns home after a particular hard case. He was attracted to Anna from the first moment but she tries to stay far away. His cousins keep trying to fix them up but it always backfires. The more time they spend, the more she drops those walls around her heart.

Very explicit sex. Both have been hurt in the past. But hopefully together they can heal each other. Anna to me kept see sawing between wanting him and not. This was my first by Mrs. Kincaid and I very much liked it.

The premise of this book grabbed my attention. I'm a sucker for a good romantic suspense, but this one left a lot to be desired. I love the feeling while reading of knowing something bad is going to happen, but constantly wondering when. I didn't feel that with this book. I enjoyed Anna and Nathan and the supporting cast of characters. Most of the meat of the book was the hot and cold between Nathan and Anna though. I powered through the book waiting for breadcrumbs of what was to come, but there weren't any and the big suspenseful ending was pretty tame. Overall, I enjoyed the writing and the plot wasn't bad, but anyone who is really into romantic suspense might want to pass on this one.

A fabulous start to the Silver Cliff series!

Annalise ‘Anna’ James need to get away having faced more than most, so she is on the move from the big city to Silver Cliff.
Nathan Kent has moved back to Silver Cliff after a disagreement with his work and the end of his marriage.
Both have demons and a past they would rather be left behind. but when their worlds finally meet they both know the truth but neither will accept it without question. Can trust find away through the pain when the love is already there, or will it be too late by the time they realise what is in front of them.

I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading about the rest of the amazing characters in this series.

Unshattered is the first book in what looks to be a fantastic series! It’s a very emotional story with some bumps along the way to their hea. Anna and Nathan make a great couple and they have amazing chemistry! They both have had their share of heartbreak and both of them are hesitant to start a new relationship. Will they be able to make it work or go their separate ways? I loved this heartbreaking, heart-mending story! I’m eagerly waiting for book 2 in the Silver Cliffs series! Elena has a new fan in me!

Good love story

I received a copy of this book free for kindle in exchange for my honest review. This book overall was good. The beginning was a little slow going but it was about what we typically encounter in some point in our lives which is someone cheating on us. Anna experienced this and took off to start a new life. This is where she meets Nathan and things take a very unexpected and sexy turn. Anna learns to love and trust again. Overall a good love story with a good ending.

I received a complimentary copy of Unshattered in exchange for an honest review. This was a quick and easy read with a variety of topics including domestic violence, broken relationships, and death of family members. It takes place in a small town where Anna goes to restart her broken lie. She quickly acclimates into the community an meets Nathan through his cousins. The first meeting between Anna and Nathan was a disaster, and I thought to myself there was no way they could recover, but they did. Definitely a good read that I would recommend to friends and family.

Okay

While I like the premise and love this genre, I found it challenging to connect to these characters. Their connection didn't make sense based on their interactions. An educator is not able to leave work the way Anna seemed able to do, and Nathan felt inauthentic. I think with more character development, it could work.

I really love Charlie and imagine the next in the series is about Wyatt.

Anna has left it all, packed up and hit the road with no final destination in mind. When she comes to Silver Cliff it's like she's at peace. Still closed off to the world, but at peace.

Nathan has come home. To regroup, make a new life for himself.

When these two meet, fireworks ignite.

Such a cozy read. Romance is in the air but do they ever fight it. There's bumps along this road, but the ride is worth it.

I received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. The character development in this book is so good! I rooted for the good ones, disliked the bad ones, and detested the really detestable ones. The storylines were a little predictable, but the chemistry was fantastic between the two MCs so it was easy to not care so much about that. The whole book would have benefited from a thorough edit, but it wasn't bad enough that it detracted from the story much. I would read more from this author.

Unshattered is the first book in the Silver Cliff Series and Anna and Nathan’s story. Anna has left her past and broken relationship behind. She stumbles across the town of Silver Cliff and instantly feels she’s found her new home. It’s here that Anna meets the Kent family and Nathan Kent. This book is emotional, angsty, and I loved every page. I’m looking forward to reading what’s next!
