*** AI-Narrated Audiobook, free on Google Play! *** Big, scary-looking tough guys don't name their cat Mr. Kitty. And they definitely don't spend hours in the freezing cold searching for their lost cat in the middle of the worst blizzard in memory.
When the pretty girl across the neighborhood finds an orange tabby named Mr. Kitty, the man who claims him is the last person she'd expect: James is huge and intimidating. But when he's gone, she can't stop thinking about him.
As the blizzard worsens, Ashley finds herself trapped at home with no power or heat. There's only one person who knows she’s in trouble.
Will James come to her rescue, and can the two of them warm each other's hearts in the midst of a storm?
A Storm to Remember is a roughly 6,000-word uplifting short story full of cutesy feels and light, clean romance to warm the heart and brighten the soul.

When the doorbell rang, I wiped my hands on my pants, feeling way more nervous than I should have.
It was just a guy coming to get his cat. There was no reason to feel this way. But when I glanced through the peephole, the guy standing there was so tall, I could barely see the bottom of his face. His body blocked my view of the rest of the porch. That's how big this guy was.
I was home alone, and he was a stranger.
There’s probably some rule about this that mothers teach their daughters when they're young. Like, "Always have a friend there when you're going to invite strange men to your home.”
But somehow the nerves coursing through me felt a whole lot more like excitement than fear.
Good lord, this was probably a sign I hadn’t had a date in far too long. Just the sight of a man on Valentine's Day had me all giddy.
He probably wasn't even single.
And he was probably starting to think I hadn't heard the doorbell, so when I saw him reach out to knock, I yanked it open. Trying to look normal. Like I hadn't been just sizing him up from the other side.
I hadn't actually been able to see his face through the peephole, and now that I had, I couldn't help but stare. He was terrifying.
But also extremely handsome.
Maybe it was the cut angles of his jaw, or the deep, quiet sharpness to his gaze. And he must have left home in a hurry, because he wasn't wearing a coat. Just a flannel shirt that made him look something like a lumberjack.
I'd never thought a lumberjack could be cute before.

This book was the perfect bedtime story to make me all warm and cozy before drifting off. If you're looking for something short and sweet, I highly recommend.
3.8⭐️ This was a short and cutesy read which was quite fun!🎀🪻the main characters were nice and the ending 😭😭😭😭!their meet cute was amazingg!!🩵🥹 I also read the bonus scene and HE PROPOSED TO HER!!🩷💍
𐙚𓏲⋆ᡣ𐭩 Pre-read: This is a short romance with a cat named Mr. kitty🐈ofc I am reading this<3
4.5 stars - I love a short and sweet story, this was definitely one that I enjoyed the most lately. Featuring an orange floof (like my own) and drawing the grumpy man to the sweet neighbour was perfection.
I even subscribed to the authors email to gain an extra bonus chapter and it did not disappoint. This was nothing short of sweet, taking place on Valentine’s Day in a snowstorm when Mr Kitty decides to go for a wander to the neighbours (Ashley) house for a little warmth before his owner James comes home.
Different in the best way. More courting and truly romantic content. It's a genuine love story ❤️ Felt good to read and actually quite a message embedded in the good feels.
James and Ashley will find themselves falling in love after Ashley saves James' cat during a blizzard. They think that is that, until Ashley finds herself trapped at home with no power and no heat as the storm worsens. James comes to the rescue, only to pay her back, but they will discover maybe it is fate.
Very short and sweet and to the point. They bound during this terrible storm and it is love at pretty much right away.
Kitty! I'm a sucker for cats and Mr. Kitty was adorable.
This did feel a little too short. Mainly for the fact I would've liked to see more conversations between the two. So maybe a page or two longer to really feel that attraction and love. Yes, this is clean, but some more convos would've sealed the deal for me.
All-in-all, a nice short romance for a rainy day like today. I'll give this 3 stars.
This was really cute. I don't normally enjoy short stories because I want to dive deep into the plot and the people. Short stories leave me wanting for more. If this had been a full length novel or even 50 more page, maybe I'd feel like I had more depth of the characters to connect to them. All in all, this was enjoyable. It's a quick read that's perfect for a pallet cleanser after a tough book, or maybe a night you feel like you have a headache but just want to read something short. I prefer the authors other stories. Give Shadowglen a chance on Kindle Vella!
This was a cute little romance novella. It wasn’t too unbelievable, fast paced or had the characters moving too fast to be true… it was just right. There was none of the steamy-ness I’ve come to expect with romance novellas which was a welcome change, as it just felt a lot more natural and how a romantic relationship actually starts. It was well written and I enjoyed the point of view coming from both characters. A fantastic little quick read!
The sweetest thing I’ve read this year-end! Ashley finds James’ cat, Mr. Kitty, just as a storm begins. However, when Ashley ends up stuck in her own home with no dry wood, no heat, and no way out, it’s up to James to come to her rescue. As they navigate the situation, they start getting to know each other better~
Oh I loved this book. Only reason it was a 4 was the length. It could have been so much more and I know there's a bonus. All the same I really loved the characters and the setting. A wonderful short story about Mr kitty's night in a storm and how a random event can change what's ahead. How sometimes we need to trust our guy and take a chance.
We have a single, tough teddy bear security guard with an orange floof comically named Mr. Kitty. Mr. Kitty runs away to a beautiful woman's house. They meet... and it's adorable. It is a clean and closed door romance but it's super cute and a quick short, read.
What an incredibly sweet little romance! Loved the snowstorm setting and James coming to help and make sure Ashley was safe. And who doesn’t love a cat named Mr. Kitty.
Definitely pair this book with a mug of hot chocolate, a fire and some snowy weather.
I've been reading Cyan's Vella stories on Kindle. Love her style and endearing stories on that site. This short story is the first book I have read by the author. I'm even more smitten. I'm looking forward to reading more in the future!
During a blizzard, James searches for Mr. Kitty, he's orange tabby cat. Ashley finds the 🙀 and returns him to James. Ashley finds herself with no power or heating at home.....guess who comes to help her! This was a very quick read, which I really enjoyed, cute too. 4☆
bro, broski, brother, lad, you're a security guard/ lumberjack and you have a cat called Mr Kitty, get more imaginative. also Ashley, get more supplies and IN A SNOWSTORM DO NOT PUT UR WOOD OUTSIDE U IDIOT
The most apt content of a book that you will find considering the title. It is crisp and fluffy and everything nice. I needed just this to get out of a slump. Amazing efforts. If the ending could've been extended a bit, it would be perfect. Just it.
This was a meet cute, short and sweet love story. Just what you would need to cap off any day, whether good or bad.
Basically, a snowstorm leads to a lost cat. A nice-looking woman finds the cat and finds the owner. They enjoy one another's company and the rest is history ❤️
I love how the author expressed the FMC and MMC feelings so realistically using dual POV's but not being dramatic. Sometimes, the POV's in romance novels are overdone. But not in this one. It was just right.
I gave it a 4 because, although it was sweet that the man loved his cat so much, it wasn't realistic.
All in all, I'm glad I chose to read this, and I would definitely love to read it again ❤️
