Bound to the Vampires

Demon Hunter Academy

Rate this book
At the Demon Hunter Academy, a witch's worth comes from her magic and her demon fighting prowess.

But when I lose everything in one day – my family, my arm, and my magic – I also lose all hope of graduating this term.

Three daring men rally behind me: the sensual healer who saves my life, my seductive college classmate, and our tempting professor who helps me reclaim my lost magic.

Their powers complement my own, and I find each one irresistible in his own unique way.

But when the infernal realm claws its way deeper into our world, no one is safe. We must band together if we hope to defeat the next demonic incursion.

Are these three men bold enough to stand with me against hell itself?

Demon Hunter Academy is a steamy standalone paranormal academy romance. This book's main characters will later make appearances throughout Bound to the Vampires, a complete trilogy.

BLURB:
Demons devoured Nimue's coven and took her magic. Now she lives for vengeance.

Three men will help her give the demons a proper reckoning: a cute healer who helps her survive her wounds, a playful professor who crafts her a new prosthetic arm, and a sexy but unavailable classmate who tutors her in the magic lessons she missed.

As they aid her in their own ways, she begins falling for them all. But when the infernal realm claws its way deeper into their world, no one is safe.
A story of Familial Love, Loss, Hope, Revenge, Redemption and Acceptance. Nimue was issued a crushing blow while witnessing the death of her coven parents and brother. Watching a fight, she had no business being at Nimue loses her arm during the vicious attack while also coming face to face with the beast responsible for her family’s demise. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions as we embark on Nimue’s journey of self rediscovery.
Nimue’s journey takes the reader through so many emotions. Nimue’s grief, heartache, pain, suffering and hope. Nimue is filled with so much rage that she can barely think clearly. During her period of transition Nimue began to develop feelings for the ones who has helped her along her journey. Her coven’s Healer Rigel who helps her grieve and cope with the loss of her arm and magic. Fox the young Professor who is a skilled artificer who shared a night of passion with Nimue not knowing that she was a student at the Academy at the time. Fox, who so happens to be a friend of Rigel creates a prosthetic arm for Nimue so that she can once again access her magic. Lastly, Lantos the skilled demon hunting classmate Nimue has been holding a candle for over the years reveals his hidden desires to claim her as his own.

Rigel, Fox and Lantos are exactly what Nimue needed to gain clarity over her life and rebuild herself into the formidable demon hunter she was trained to be. With the threat of the infernal world that is rapidly creeping into their world. Nimue has managed to pull herself together after the loss of her coven and vows that she will fight to the bitter end to protect and save her new coven.

If you want a story full of emotion and action this is the book for you. Very steamy, entertaining a little M/M action all within the FMC harem; Demon Hunter Academy maybe the story for you.

Demon Hunter Academy

This standalone about Demon Hunters, Witches, Demons, Vampires, Covens, ect was way different than other books "like" it. I've read my fair share of them and this one definitely had originality from all the others. I absolutely loved the concept and can't wait to read more of this universe. I was also drawn to the location this world was based. I've been to Charlotte, NC myself and I am from and live in Virginia where Fox and Rigel were from. So that's always bonus points when I read a book that has geographical locations like that, lol. The fmc, Nimue, was a total bad a&&. The guys were great. The friends were great. Definitely ready to read Mel's book next.

This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The FMC, Nimue, was relatable, even if she did make decisions that I didn't always agree with. The book has a good plot and didn't feel rushed, even as a standalone.

Nimue's guys were also easy to tell apart. There were no cookie-cutters here! Each one was incredibly sweet, and each one had their own journey to go through.

The book wasn't only about relationships either. There was a solid plot in a PNR academy setting. This is a book that I would read again! There is also a lead into an upcoming series based in the same world at the end. I can't wait to read what happens with the new FMC!

Goodness this was a page turner. I wasn't sure how much I would like it at first honestly but it was so good. And all the characters connections was amazing! I love that even though she lost her family and her arm she was still such a strong and able woman! The end was nice too! To see where they all ended up 15 years later. Definitely recommend.

"Yes, the newest doorway to hell opened onto a golf course. No one was really surprised." - Nimue

Nimue Flidais, Nim, is determined to join her birth-coven no matter what! Forget about graduating in a couple of months, it cannot come fast enough and she's ready to fight. Keeping the normal, humans safe from the demons who try and cross over from the Infernal Realm. Only her eagerness and wanting to help backfires in a very tragic turn of events!

Losing her arm was the least of her problems after the horrible battle she witnessed. Only with the loss of her arm came the loss of her ability to use magic. . . But Nim made a vow to avenge her coven and will stop at nothing to do so. Even if that means turning down her grief and a chance at a future coven. She needs revenge rather than emotions and feelings. They get in the way and can get people killed.

Nim has a very heavy traumatic situation happen to her from the earliest part of the book. Be sure to read the trigger warnings. It helps to set the stage for the entire book and building of her character. It still doesn't make things any less intense. This is an emotional roller coaster from the get go.

I got Hogwarts, Dragon Age, and Solo Leveling vibes from this book. Only set in America and with demons! I really loved the school aspect and the focus on demons. Along with a little witchy background. Portals and rifts opening up and needing Demon Hunters to take care of things. This book is a standalone and there's a happy ending. The author mentioned that this is the prequel to Mel's Vampire Coven, which I hope to read about Mel in the future!

I enjoyed all of the characters and the story building. The pacing of this book was fantastic. It felt like I blinked and was already halfway through the book! You get a taste of several tropes within the book which I enjoyed. Some relationships being instant attraction while others had to build a little bit, slow burn if you will. Though trust me! You will not be disappointed in the least.

Nimue was a great female lead! She was extremely feisty, confident, and didn't allow her situation to get her down. She was able to pick herself back up and pursue the life she wanted. Even if her focus was a little askew. I loved the family dynamics and how covens worked within this world. Also the lead up to tie into the series Traci will have out about Mel in the future.

Nim doesn't hold back or watch her mouth. Why should she? There's language in the book as well as MF action, MM action, and MFMM action. We have all the actions in this book! Polyamory themes but everyone is devoted to one another, especially to Nim. Violence is a prominent thing since the main characters are becoming Demon Hunters to fight Demons.

I loved this book and cannot wait to see Nim in Mel's world! Which is set decades after this book. Enjoy the read and give the author some stars!

This book was… well magical, really. From the very beginning I was hooked on Nimue and my heart broke for her and all her struggles. Honestly, I’m a little sad she didn’t get her own trilogy because I would buy that in a heartbeat. Each character felt solid and dynamic with complex backstories, and deep emotional motivations.

The storyline is faultless, though I have to admit I have questions! What surnames did the new covens choose? Did Nimue keep her birth-coven’s surname? What happened to Nimue’s birth-coven’s home?

Can I hope some of these questions will be answered in the upcoming series?🤞🤞 If the next series is anything like this book, I’m all in!💕❤️💕

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Wowsers what an amazing read full of action and consequences, devastation and desperation.

Life was all laid out for Nim and she was excited for the future, But then fate intervened and stole away her hopes and dreams.

This isn't my first read of Traci Lovelot's and it won't be my last either! but it is the first read of hers where my phone flew!

Only the best books that you truly connect with result in outbursts of emotions and oh boy I went through quite a range with this book!

I loved the angst and pain that poured off the pages, the grit and determination, the action sequences and the tender saucy moments. Combine them all together and you have a read that is VERY hard to put down!

Character wise well I'm claiming them ALL. Rigel the saviour, Fox the dashing and Lantos the mighty. mine Mine MINE!

They all whispered to me, stoked the fire and stole my heart, and I wouldn't want it any other way!

I was intrigued by the blurb of this book and had heard about it in a few Facebook groups, glad I decided to give it a go. Love the FMC- her strength is amazing given the tragic loss she suffers, including the loss of her arm. Her emotional journey during this book is written so well- the loss of self worth, the despair, the overwhelming anger. On her journey of healing/ revenge she is supported by the three men in her life- the cheeky professor, a handsome healer and a reluctant classmate. This is a story of growth, strength and it’s steamy too. Loved it.

Retaliation and Rebuilding . . .

Nimue is a demon hunter who is strong and determined. Demons destroyed her coven and took everything she cared about. Gathering her strength to retaliate, she is given help from several sources. A healer will deal with her severe wounds. A professor makes a prosthetic arm to replace her loss. And a classmate will catch her up on the magic lessons she has missed. With their help, she will prepare to get her vengeance for her family and coven. The dangerous part is avenging her old coven while making sure her new coven is protected. Will she be successful at both of these tasks?

I really enjoyed reading this PNR academy standalone. The FMC is well written – you can feel her grief as she learns to live with the loss of her entire family and arm. The author did a fabulous job of detailing the sinking despair and depression, the loss of self. The men in the harem are all sweet and complement the FMC beautifully.

Plus, there is some demon killing, magic, and s3xy times, so what’s not to like?

I highly recommend this book for lovers of college-age academy-style RH with a PNR spin. I did not want to put it down!

So good! I could not put this down

After a gut wrenching beginning, I could not put this down. The character development was wonderful and the world building was outstanding. I just could not help getting sucked into this book. So many times I would look down at my time left to end and think that there was not enough time to wrap all this up. But everything was wrapped up and not in a quick slap it together way. Oh my god that ending! Top of my reread pile. Can't wait to see what is next for this universe

Wow an enjoyable journey. It has ups & downs like all journeys, yes I shed a few tears. A strong young woman, Nim loses her Coven family and she sets on a path for revenge. The characters draw you in. There's 3 hot men to keep things beyond steamy. It's action packed. Exquisite attention to character detail. It even has its own Beastiary. I highly recommend this book. It is a stand alone. Are you prepared to join the Demon Hunter Academy? Let's go.

Nimue lost her coven and magic to demons. She wants revenge. There are three men who want to help her reach her goal. The first is a sweet healer who saved her life. The second is the professor who crafted her new arm. The third and final is a classmate to who she believes she can't get close. Will they accomplish her goal to avenge her family without losing their lives as well?

This was a great story. I loved it.

Hello, there! 💜🥰💜 This is not a review 😉 It's behind-the-scenes info you might want to know!

Nimue and her witchy coven of sexy men first appear in this standalone RH, Demon Hunter Academy. 😈 They will return as supporting characters in A Match Made in Hell🩸 (Note: It’s okay to read either book first!)

Such a good read and a great stand alone. I enjoyed the slow start(but not too slow) between the main character and the guys...the story has a few twists and turns that keep you on your toes. As a standalone it was great if like me you like to finish books in one sitting it keeps your attention and wanting more!

Action packed and made me teary eyed a few times. The FMC is strong willed and wants to avenge her families death. The MMCs are all so supportive of the FMC and are so sweet to her. Just enough steamy-ness!

Loved this book! The world building was amazing and the FMC’s character development was very well done. Each of the MMCs had chapters from their POV and there was some MM action.

I feel like everything I've read lately has been less great than I hoped for, and this is no exception. This entire review is pretty much just hating on the FMC, so I guess you've been warned.

But first, the writing and world:

There is an insane amount of detail that took up way too much of the pages. This book could have been at least half as short as it was if the author didn't feel the need to describe every single thought that crosses the characters' minds, including describing what they plan to do next, describing it as they do it in real time, and then explaining why they did it for the reader again in different words, just in case we're not smart enough to have gotten it the first two times.

There is no buildup of attraction between any of the characters, they're just into each other like BAM! And then they'll describe how connected they felt after being together, but they'll do it in past tense inner monologue, without actually having shown us that connection in real time. And without time having passed for those things to have actually happened??? So frustrating.

Okay now into the FMC:

I won't even get started on how mere hours after she watches her family die, and loses her arm, she's having romantic feelings for her medic, and is sad when he doesn't seem to return them (he does, he's just not obvious about it)....

No, let's talk about how this girl whines too effing much. Everything is about her. She goes on forever about everything that goes wrong "on her birthday" because she's one of those people that thinks the whole world revolves around her, and gets angry and verbally rude to anyone who doesn't give her what she wants, including the MMCs. She's bratty and ungrateful and her inner monologues are so frustrating. It has nothing to do with the fact that she's grieving, and everyone to do with the fact that she's purely selfish. People are dying and another dimension is literally tearing into theirs and killing or infecting everyone, and she's just sad or annoyed when the doctor gets called into the hospital to help and she has to be alone. Or angry when the one of MMCs offers to help build her a prosthetic out of his own free will, but then mentions that his job is calling for a heavy load from his powers to make war artifacts for those fighting, so he'll have to fit it in between that. Oh but then he caves and sets all that aside to only focus on her thing after she throws a fit and leaves (without even thanking him) because he can't put her on the top of his list in the middle of a war.

Oh and can we talk about how her brother, who was a seer when he was alive, gave her very clear warnings that were not at all ambiguous, and she ignored them? Then had the audacity to twist them all into something else and still be shocked when things turned out the way they did? He told her THREE TIMES that for them to move on she had to find peace. When she still took the first warning as her needing to kill all demons in existence (or just the one that killed them) and needing to push her guys away, he came back and clarified that it was "inner peace". And this girl goes off and "puzzles" over his clear asf warning and what it could mean and still decides she has to kill the demon that killed them and any other demons that cross over. And when she's shocked that doesn't work, he tells her her again....

Let's not forget that she was angry about the chancellor deciding to train what were basically civilians to go fight, which included her lovers, because it was too dangerous....and when they were brought to the front lines with zero armor to convince her to stop sneaking out and fighting (she's a student and shouldn't have been there), she KEEPS FIGHTING with them there. She's not worried about their safety, she's not trying to take them away, she just keeps fighting.

And here comes her ghostly brother with another very clear asf warning to take her guys and leave immediately, and does she?

No.

No, this girl ignores that and immediately goes charging after a demon, pulling dangerous stunts, and when one of her lovers tries to help her, he gets attacked (again, he's not a demon hunter and he was not given armor), nearly dies, and loses his leg.

She's not tstl, she's worse than that: she's reckless with hers and everyone else's lives. She's a strong character that wilfully ignores everything (she ignores and dodges her friends the whole book and gets upset when they form their coven without her there) except whatever her delulu mind decides she needs to do at any given moment.

No resolution with the demons, the shady chancellor, or honestly with her guys. They just decide they need to offer themselves as a coven anyway, despite her still pushing them away, and then things are supposedly good. This story idea was too good for this FMC.

Nim and her coven are the stars of this book.

Nim is a witch and training to be a demon hunter like her birth coven. When demons attack, Nim sneaks onto the battlefield and watches her family get massacred, before losing her arm and almost her life in the same fight.

One by one she meets her future coven mats, Ri the healer, Fox the one who provides her prosthetic, and Lantos a fellow demon hunter student, who each bring something she needs into her life.

Fighting between her revenge for her family and being happy forming a new coven, there are bumps along the way.

Hot spice scenes, slight angst, HEA.

I would have gave this book a 4 or 5 star, but so much was left unsaid at the end. Then it jumped to 15 years later, making you want to know more of the story. When I hit bonus chapter and a few others after the book to find more information it wants you to sign up for "Patreon" membership. So disappointed. Left me wondering.

That being said the book was good until the end.

I just needed a bit of fun to take my mind away from another book I was reading 😂

I think this is an interesting set up to the Bound to the Vampires story. There’s a lot of action packed in, but I’m not 100% sure if I’ll continue on to read the series proper. There’s A LOT going on and a sense of urgency, but at the end of the day I’m not sure if it grabs my attention enough to read 3 more books in the series. Who knows tho, maybe I’ll need a bit of a break while reading another book 😂

Fantastic read. I wasn’t sure about this book since it’s a reverse harem and I’m not really into that. But I thought I’d give it a try as I enjoy this genre. I’m so glad I did. I just couldn’t put it down.
Well written world and female main character. You could feel her grief and understood why she did what she did, even when putting herself in harms way. Not to mention she is a kick ass demon Hunter not someone pretending to be one that can’t follow through.
I really enjoyed the other characters and the relationship between Nim and the guys. Each one brought something different to the relationship. It was interesting that Nim has a bi friend who wanted her to join their coven but she couldn’t as she is straight, only to have a straight man join hers. The dynamics of that relationship should be awkward but weren’t.

I enjoyed reading this story. The main character isn't perfect, she's flawed and makes mistakes. It's a rh, but she has to wait until graduation to officially pick her coven. The plotline is a good one, a build up of the characters is well written. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I'm giving this five stars, and definitely recommend reading it.

This book is part of The Infernal Rending Universe and the main character is Nimue Flidais (20), who lives with her birth coven of her father Bastien, Olwyn and Rob, along with their son Kyrie, who she thinks of as her older brother. She is in her last semester at the Demon Hunter Academy and is desperate to go and watch a rift in the veil, as the rest of her family get to fight demons. As a student, she is forbidden from approaching these dangerous rifts and isn’t allowed to take part in any fight against demons. When her coven are called to another sudden rift, she tags along to the location, helped out by Kyrie giving her the details. She is supposed to hang back and she knows the coven has a healer that will be arriving shortly as well, and she can’t get spotted or she will be expelled from the academy! Normal rifts only have a demon or two that come through and then after the demons are taken care of, a wall would be built around it to protect the ‘regs’, as the normal human population is called, with a demon hunter on guard. The regs used to hunt down and kill witches, until they realised they needed their magic to fight back against the demons, but their lives and work is closely monitored by the regs in control. This particular rift is bigger than normal and seems to have a never ending flow of different demons coming through it. It is soon too many for her family to fight against, and each one is slowly killed as she watches and when she runs to try and help, another beast comes through and cuts her arm off, above the elbow. Kyrie tries to protect her and give her time to flee and call for back up, but he is soon trampled, before she gets too far.
She sees another man approaching, it is Rigel Nurse, the coven healer, and he ends up saving her life by stopping the bleeding and giving her enough healing to last until he can reach his clinic, based in his small rented home, opposite the main hospital, CMH. She tells him, no hospital, clearly having something to hide. But it will be obvious to all that she has lost her arm and with it her magic, no longer able to call her wand or any weapon or spell, without both of her hands! Her friends Linda, Demetri and Circe, who have already bonded into a coven of their own which will be recognised when they graduate at Beltane, try to contact her once they hear the news, but she is too grief stricken to be around them and their closeness as a coven in the making. She has lost all of her birth coven and can’t even face going back to their home! Luckily, Rigel allows her to sleep on his couch, while he carries out healing sessions on her and gives her exercises to prepare for a prosthetic arm from an artificer. She has no real luck finding one, as all of them are either not qualified enough, or busy making basic talismans, battle jewellery and other objects of power to protect the demon hunters in their battle. Even the Chancellor of the Academy, La Cora, cannot help and won’t allow her to continue her studies without the ability to cast a spell or ward. Until she gets a new arm, she can do nothing. The rifts all around the country and the world are getting bigger, much larger than ever before and when one erupts in Charlotte, taking down a large part of the town, the regs demand more witches join the battle.
On the night Nimue turned twenty one, she turned down her friends offers to take her out and went out for a drink at Divine. There she met the handsome Fox, who reminded her of Rigel, who had turned her down after a smouldering kiss together earlier that night, as she was still his patient. She spends the night with Fox, but still has feelings for Rigel, but won’t do anything else now if he doesn’t commit to being with her. The Demon Hunter Agency (DHA) heads are all fired by the regs and replaced by Chancellor Garan La Cora and Vice-Chancellor Laianna Cyrene, who quickly grab the opportunity to take power. Soon all witches, whether they had any training in fighting demons at all, were enlisted in mandatory training, with DHA agents keeping them separated from everyone else and also contained and unable to leave the Academy grounds. When they were all called to the academy grounds, she found out that Fox and Rigel knew each other, from growing up together, and both want her, but Fox is in fact Professor Bendis and it is forbidden for a student and professor to have a relationship! She walks away from both after Rigel apparently tries to call dibs on her and warn Fox off. She tries to go to her old coven home, but still can’t get herself to enter, so ends up having to go back to Rigel’s. She tries to get close to this new super rift to the infernal realm of demons, which is supposed to have access closed off by the regs police force, but doesn’t see anything come through. When she returns to her car, a fellow final year student, Lantos Wardwell, is waiting for her. He offers to help her catch up on her classes and to spar with her, so she can get used to her new arm, against a real opponent. She fancies Lantos as well, and always wanted to spar with him as he is one of the best in their class, but was never brave enough to try. He comes from a famous demon hunter birth coven, but it is now falling apart after his mother brought someone else into the mix without anyone else’s say so.
She continues to go and tackle demons whenever she can, even though she hasn’t yet graduated and on one such occasion, one of the new DHA agents tries to get her to leave, returning with Fox and Rigel to persuade her, but instead placing them in danger. Feeling responsible for one of them being gravely injured, she walks away from both of them, breaking any idea of forming a coven with them after graduation. Lantos believes that could be his chance to be with her, but he wants to be a solo witch after graduation, not part of a coven, or so he believes after seeing his birth coven implode. He soon realises that she still loves Fox and Rigel and it is his coven sibling Eli, a double healer, who helps him realise what he really wants. He helps Nimue out at the academy and follows her into battle, watching her back for all of them. Nimue needs to find peace so that the rest of her birth coven can find peace and move on to where they should go after their deaths. She needs to realise that her peace will not be found just killing the demons that killed her family, especially the large bull and stag. She needs to find peace within herself and to accept what has happened and move on with her live, hopefully with her own coven, as her birth coven family would want her to. That peace comes from those around her, supporting and loving her and wanting to be with her, in whatever format possible. Not all of them are trained demon hunters, but each has their own field of expertise and she will find herself stronger with her three men than without! This story is a standalone story set in the infernal rending universe, with a bit of steam and killing of demons. The story ends with a touching family reunion with the ghosts of her birth coven in attendance at a special ceremony, then onto some fifteen years later as all of their roles have evolved and a new threat is causing concern to the whole of the human population, as well as the witches. I look forward to reading more stories set in this infernal rending universe and hope that some may contain a little bit of the characters I have already grown to like and want to read more about from this book. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Have you ever seen the TV series Motherland? Well if that show had a baby with the Effigies book series by Sarah Raughly add in a splash of Shadowhunters and set it at an academy then you got Demon Hunter Academy. It's filled with cool magic, deadly demons, and has some steam as well as raw emotional moments, it was a non-stop ride.

Nimue "Nim" is the fmc, she's spirited, stubborn, loyal, caring, and a strong fighter and eager to finish her last semester and become an official demon hunter. After a tragedy, Nimue losses herself and runs on nothing but powerful emotions but she has a plan forward and is determined to see it through. I will admit her recklessness at times made me want to shake her but it's her love of others that really drew me to her character.

Then there are the three men that helped Nim pull herself together when her world was falling apart. Rigel, Fox, and Lantos are very different, they have different personalities, and a different set of skills, and is exactly what Nimuae needs. They each care for and support her but refuse to let her drown in her own feelings.

This story was filled with so much action that there wasn't a dull moment. The magic in this book was freaking awesome and Traci's done an excellent job explaining, in detail, the different types of magic. Not to mention that a lot of the magic is battle magic, used to fight and there were a few epic battles where the magic was pretty wild.

Demon Hunter Academy was a great read. Surprisingly enough, even though I like witches I haven't nearly read enough but I can tell this one was unique. DHA is my first book by Traci Lovelot andandnext I enjoyed it very much. Each book in the series will be a standalone and after reading the end of Nim's story, I'm looking forward to the next standalone in the series.

A bit disappointed

This book was good and the storyline kept me hooked. I loved Nimue and how she overcame the difficulties with her arm. She was super strong and I really likes her. The reason for the 3 star is for 2 issues I have with the story.

The first is that I feel the story is incomplete and the ending rushed. I know this is a stand alone, but I feel certain things didn't get answered. I know there is a spin off of another character and maybe they get answered in her book. However, I feel that some stuff should have been finished in Nimue's story as it was mentioned quite a bit or at least some more reference to it at the end.

Second, and I'm sure some people won't agree or won't care. But I had a huge problem with and felt that Nimue didn't get equal intimate time with her guys. The author even mentioned she had been with the two and not the other one. Yet when that scene came it didn't get completed as he then went with another of the guys. I don't mind M/M, but I do want equal loving time between all romantic partners and I felt that didn't happen. You fall for these characters and invest yourself in their lives and stories, so it really irks me when an author doesn't pay attention to those details and make sure the romance is balanced.
Again, I'm sure many people won't care and the story is a good one. For me though, it was just a let down with those things mentioned above.

Want a well written book with lots of demon hunting, emotion and hot as heck steamy scenes? Then this is the book for you.
A well though out story about a young witch learning her craft as a demon hunter (of course) and then several shocks to her life to turn things upside down.
I don't give spoilers and won't for this book - I expect enough of the other reviews as they come in will.
What you do need to know is the characters are well written, the text is easy to read and so the story flies. If you are offended by sexual scenes featuring M/M and polyamory then this book is not for you.
There are other books about the characters I believe but this book can be read as a stand alone which I certainly have.
An enjoyable fantasy read but believable as it is so well written.
I'm sure this won't be the last book I read by this author, she certainly knows her craft.
