A fresh start in San Diego is what she needs to put the past behind her and earn some money for her father’s hospital bills. Soon, though, she starts to wonder if there’s something more to the sexy surfer than he’s telling her.
Trent knows he’s blurring the boundaries of his assignment, but he can’t stop himself from wanting to get closer to Chloe. But if she finds out she’s being lied to, it could mean the end to everything.

We met Trent Larson in book 1 of the Slade series with his brother Travis. Now we get to know a bit more about Trent and what his role is in the company. It kinda follows on from book 1 as well to do with Jawhara and the people behind the terrorists.
Chloe is a woman who has nothing to do with the terrorists, but does she know more than she's letting on. It's Trent's mission to find out what she knows and what they are hiding.
His Innocent Lover is the third book in Leslie North’s Slade Security Team. The Slade team is continuing on their assignment to find the person or group threatening Sheikh Kamal Mehallel El-Jawhara, his family, and people.
Trent Larson and his twin brother have been working with Slade Security Team since they left the Seals. He enjoys his job, but he has a history of falling for the wrong female. Trent is assigned to investigate an environmental group. Upon entering their offices, he meets Chloe Baker. Can Chloe be the one Trent needs to infiltrate the group?
Chloe is focusing on living for herself and helping her dad recover from his accident. She has struggled to get along with her father since they lost her mother. Chloe has had to make tough life choices. She felt lucky to find a reception job at an environmental agency. She believes the group wants to help the environment. When Trent comes into her life, Chloe has harder life decisions to make than she ever realized. Will they find out the truth before lives are lost?.

This was a pretty short book that I didn't really enjoy reading. The plot moved too fast and was just too crazy. It could have been a fun story but the dialogue and random storylines were just too distracting. They knew each other for about a week and as soon as she finds out that he's been lying to her about what he does for a living, she's willing to travel to the Middle East with him for a dangerous mission. Oh by the way, while they're on the plane there, they decide to get married. Sweeeeet. Not.
With some changes, it could have been a good book, but personally, I just couldn't stand it.
Received copy from NetGalley for honest review.

I love the opening line to this book it had me from that. Guy pretends to be dumb blonde (surfer dude) to get the hippie receptionist to loosen her tongue. Nice short read. Part of a series of books. Nice and easy 4*
*An advanced copy of this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review*
His Innocent Lover brings the Slade Security Team series (trilogy) to a close. With the danger still on high alert back in Jawhara, the team still needs to find a way to infiltrate the non-profit organization that is believed to be the money behind the attacks. At the office of the Guardians of the World, Trent believes he just might have a way in. It’s not a role he actually enjoys playing for he’d much rather be in the middle of the action but this time a more subtle approach is needed. And so Trent, the surfer dude, makes his appearance once again. It’s uncanny how easily Trent (or his twin Travis) can slip into that persona at a second’s notice. Trent’s attraction to the receptionist, Chloe, is unexpected yet he won’t back away from it but will use it to garner information for right now he’s not sure if Chloe is an enemy or friend.
Chloe really is as innocent as she seems. She’s had a rough life in many ways and now has left the comfort of her home to travel to San Diego as her father needed medical care. Her temporary job as a receptionist is only a stop-gap measure until his health is better. One surfer dude will catch her off-guard and send her on an adventure of a lifetime… and perhaps into a forever love as well.
I had fun with Trent and Chloe in His Innocent Lover. The danger has ratcheted up significantly and we finally get answers as to who and why the attacks happened. I adored Chloe and Trent both individually and definitely as a couple. We’ll get to see other familiar faces, and watch as two unlikely people find their match in each other. Their story is full of danger, sizzling chemistry, some vile villains, and the comaradity of people who work smoothly together. If you love a solid romance that will have you glued to the pages, a couple to root for, and all the emotions you could wish for then this story and this series would be perfect for you.

His Innocent Lover is book three in the Slade Security Team Series. It follows Trent as he and his team race against time to take down their dangerous foe. In order to take down this foe, he must go undercover to infiltrate the organization to find the mole.
Trent Larson's surfer boy good looks and his surfing experience have helped him immensely with his undercover work for his security firm. He along with his brother are former Navy Seals.
Slade Security gained the contract of a major client in Jawhara, where the royal family owned oil wells that were being sabotaged. Intel led them to The Guardians of the Earth charity located in San Diego. The question was, had they been infiltrated by an enemy or was it all just a cover up?
Chloe Baker moved from her hometown in Wyoming to San Diego so that her father could receive the treatment he needed. She misses the ranch and horses of her home, but knows that her father would recover better where he is after his accident. When she meets Trent, she is instantly attracted to his sun-blown hair and shining blue eyes. He offers to teach her to surf but something doesn't feel right. She senses there is more to him than meets the eye.
When Trent spots the pretty receptionist, he knows that his good looks and laid back manner would give him an opening. He is just as attracted to Chloe as she is to him. He feels guilty for deceiving her but knows that there is a job to be done. Lives could be on the line and he couldn't guarantee that she didn't know more than she let on.
We follow Chloe and Trent in their relationship as they fall in love. But with secrets and omissions hidden between them, can they come out the other side with their hearts intact? Will Chloe be devastated to learn of Trent's deception or would she understand the need for secrecy? Can Trent somehow convince his team that she isn't involved? And just who is the mole? Who is behind all the sabotage?
His Innocent Lover is an action packed story filled with steam, hope, action, danger and love all thrown together in one rollercoaster ride! I can't wait to check out the other books in the series!
A simply wonderful, captivating read with great characters and story This was a simply wonderful read that I enjoyed every single moment of the characters and the plot was simply amazing and I have to say that like me when you read this book you will be equally as enchanted and as captivated by this book as I found myself although I have to warn you that once you begin reading you will find it impossible to put the book down until you reach the final page and discover the final outcome of this wonderful read.
Slade Security is a specialised group and Trent who is responsible for the infiltration of the extremely dangerous terrorist group with the help of Chloe Baker who actually works for the group and Trent decides that this is his best access to the group.
Chloe has known how very conniving and manipulative people can be when they want something but she has a good heart and when Trent had come into her life initially had believed the date was genuine, by the time he realises that she means so much more him he is already too far down the path to turn around and he knows she is in a dangerous situation as the terrorists are aware that she may have spoken about them.
What will Trent do if needs be to keep Chloe safe and sound, it is obvious that she has a target on her back and Trent knows that this is down to him and that if even so much as a scratch happened to her, he would without a doubt, take out the group or individual responsible.
He would show no mercy what-so-ever and god help anyone when he got his hand on those responsible.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Trent Larson's surfer boy good looks and his skill at surfing served him well for undercover work. Trent along with his twin brother Travis were both ex navy SEALs and now worked for Slade Security. Slade security had a major client in Jawhara, the royal family there owned oil wells that were being sabotaged, info led the to a charity "The Guardians of the Earth" here in San Diego, had they been infiltrated or was it all just a cover ? Trent knew that his good looks and easy manner would give him an opening with the pretty receptionist there although he felt guilty at using her but this job had to be done. Chloe Baker had moved from her home is Wyoming to San Diego for her fathers treatment, she missed the ranch and the horses so much but after his accident her father needed the care that the home could give him. Chloe was very attracted to the surfer guy with the sun streaked hair and twinkling blue eyes , he had offered to teach her to surf but something wasn't quite right. The attraction was mutual and Trent hated deceiving Chloe but he couldn't be sure that she wasn't involved. This story follows Chloe and Trent falling in love but there was mistrust on both sides, of the team pulling together to uncover the perpetrators. Would Chloe be devastated and dump Trent when she found out the truth ? Could Trent convince the team that Chloe was on the level ? Who was behind the sabotage ? A quick and entertaining story with romance and action.

Trent is on a mission for Slade Security. He needs to somehow get into the files of the Guardians of the Earth, an environmental, save the earth, group. Looks like his in is going to be the beautiful sweet receptionist Chloe. A farm girl, she’s been in town for only a month. Chloe is here to support her ill father who is getting treatment at a local facility. Trent, a tall blond sun- god-like, will use his looks to become a trust fund a “surfer dude” who is interested in helping the environment. His “act” is really funny but Chloe falls for it. Trent starts to pursue Chloe to figure out what she knows or if she is a part of the bad guys. Their first date is to surf. She wants to learn, he wants his hands on her. They are really attracted to each other and it is cute how Trent falls for this sweet girl. Trent’s cover gets broken though. Chloe is now in the hands of the 2 suspected terrorists from the Guardians of the Earth and Slade Security is still unsure if Chloe may be one of the bad guys. Everybody, good guys and bad guys are now in Jawhara. Slade Security will solve this mystery and find out who is trying to get rid of Jewel Oil and the Sheik and his family. This is a great story full of awesome characters. I love the entire series. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout. I am leaving my honest review because I review everything. Linda
This is the final book in the Slade Security series and picks up the story where we left it in book 2, with everyone still on high alert due to the danger in Jawhara, and needing to infiltrate the organisation that is the security team believe could be behind the attacks.
Trent decides to bring out his alto ego, dumb surfer, in order to get the attention of the receptionist Chloe who could be key to finding out what is going on and who is funding the money. Trent isn't expecting to be attracted to Chloe, and needs to gather the information required whilst also determining if she can be trusted.
Chloe has a tough life and left her home to go to San Diego because her father is ill and is in need of medical care. Her job isn't ideal but gives her an income whilst her father's health improves. She wasn't expecting a dumb surfer to turn her world upside down and take her on a journey full of danger, and strong emotions.
His Innocent Lover gives us answers left from the previous books, whilst also re-visiting with familiar characters . Chloe and Trent are an unlikely couple but with each other meet their match.
This story is filled with danger, hot chemistry, and romance that had me turning the pages and not wanting to put it down. An enjoyable end to this series and thoroughly recommended.

This story moved at a rapid pace. I believe it could be read as a standalone. It might be confusing because of all of the Slade Security operatives from previous books. There are also characters from the Jawhara Sheikhs series. I was surprised that it was necessary to drag the oil rig story out over 3 books.
The storyline actually starts in Book 1 and is completed in this book. I liked Trent and Travis (Trent's twin) as members of Slade's team. I was not impressed with Trent and Chloe as a couple. They developed a relationship out of thin air. It took no time for them to start being intimate. Chloe left an aura of desperation about her in my opinion. The fact that people kept bringing up Trent's track record with women didn't help in cementing their chemistry or the relationship.
Suddenly, Chloe was caught up in a Slade Security Op. There was a burst of danger and action. I didn't find the story to be suspenseful at all. Then it was over. There was a hint about his brother Travis. Trent and Chloe did get their HEA.
This book was ok. Nothing really stood out or was exciting to me. I have read other books by this author that I thought were much more engaging. I would recommend you read it it and judge for yourself.

Chloe and Trent dis not meet by chance. He deliberately sought her out as a way to get information on the activities and people who work for her temporary employer. He is an ex SEAL now working for Slade Security and his team suspect that Chloe’s employer of terrorist activities. Trent never expected to fall for the petite and curvy receptionist with an air of innocence about her.
Chloe really is a fish out of water in San Diego. She is much more comfortable on the family ranch in Wyoming, but her dad is receiving care and rehabilitation for the injuries he suffered in a terrible accident in San Diego, so leaving the ranch had been necessary. She believes she is working for a non profit group looking to save the environment. Meeting Trent is exciting and unexpected, and being lonely and homesick has her guard down. Everything in Chloe is warning her to be careful, but her attraction to Trent and his easygoing attitude have her throwing caution to the wind. She didn’t expect to fall hard and fast for him. What happens when his deception comes to light? Will it be a happily ever after or heartbreak in their future?.

Chloe has moved to San Diego for her father’s treatment after his accident. He has always had a temper but now he is angry because they had to lease their ranch and the doctors don’t think he will ever be able to ride again. Chloe has managed to get a receptionist job through a temping agency and when a sexy surfer walks through the door, she takes notice. Trent works for Slade Security and they are determined to find out who is funding the terrorists that are targeting the oil fields in Jawhara and endangering the royal family there. When he visits an environmentalist organisation that on face value is all about protecting the planet, and sees Chloe, he knows he can use her as his in with them. Chloe hates lies and she starts to suspect Trent is not who he portrays. Trent is stuck between a rock and a hard place, he thinks Chloe is an innocent with regards to the terrorists, but he has been wrong before and the scars to prove it, and the attacks on the oil field are escalating so they need to find the leaders quickly. Loved this story; Chloe is trying to do the best by her father in a new town and Trent is determined to do his job but can’t keep Chloe at a distance. Another wonderful book in this series. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Slade Security continues on their project to find the rebels who sabotage Jewel oil and threaten the royal family. Larson twins are taking a front row seat in this story. Their intel finds out that a nonprofit organization the Guardians of the Earth has connection to Jawhara rebels. Trent pretends to be a wealthy dumb surfer to infiltrate the company. He forges a relationship with the receptionist Chloe, an innocent woman from Wyoming, as his way in. The more he knows about Chloe, the more he wants to help her. She is sweet, has a big heart and she takes care of her dad. Not to mention they have hot chemistry. Chloe finds the surfer accents and acts strange. Then she runs into Trent’s twin Travis. Trent has to tell her the truth. Chloe’s boss convinces her to fly to Jawhara with them when Trent’s trap starts to tighten. The plot is great and the action is thrilling. I love Chloe and Trent. They are so cute together. Slade Security treats employees and their spouse like family. It is a high risk job with a lot of love. I love this series.
Finding love and letting your guard down! This is about Chloe and Trent. Chloe is working for a temp agency that settled her as a receptionist with The Guardians of the Earth. Trent and his twin brother along with Slade Security, have been working to figure out if The Guardians of the Earth is just a cover for the illegal activity that is happening in Jawhara. Trent poses as a surfer wanting to work with the Guardians to save the earth from the pollution in the waters makes small talk and gains Chloe’s trust. He helps her immediately and realizes that she could be the one but has to be careful in case she is playing him. There is action and some lovable funny scenes especially when she realizes he has a twin. I do hate that we don’t get to read about Travis, Trent’s twin, I would have loved to see what shenanigans he comes up with.

Trent is working on an assignment trying to get information on a charity that they think is kneed deep in stuff. As soon as he walks into the charities office he meets Chloe and he has an idea of using her to get information. Chloe isn’t sure moving from Wyoming to California was the best idea, but she is doing it so her dad can get the best of care after his accident. Chloe immediately connects with Trent and loves how easy going he is but sometimes he seems a little different. She can’t quite put her finger on it but she knows there is something going on. Trent knew as soon as he kissed Chloe that she was something important to him and after he got to know her he knew that she was innocent and didn’t have a clue about anything fishy going on where she has worked for a month. Will Trent be able to get the information need to take down this group of people and get Chloe to understand what is going on? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I had never read anything by this author and I did not like it at all. The two characters have that kind of instalove that is totally unwarranted, especially based on both of their pasts. I don't even know if not having read the previous two books would have made it easier for me to read this one, but I am inclined to think that if I had read even one of them, it would have remained the only one.
I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
Trent works for Slade Security but is also a surfer dude, the group are trying to find out more about a terrorist group. Chloe happens to be a temporary receptionist for them, she's moved to San Diego from Wyoming, so her father can go to a rehab place there. She's been lied to by the two men in her life and doesn't do liars well. Trent sees her as his way into the group, but is torn because he finds her really attractive and is convinced that she's innocent and doesn't know what they're up to. Will she breaks things off when she finds out he's been lying to her? Can they catch the terrorist group before they set off any more bombs?

Trent Larson is the twin brother of Travis and they are part of the team of Slade Security and someone we thought was a hopeless, womanizer bachelor. It seems all it took was one look at the innocent eyes of beautiful Chloe Baker who he meets while investigating her employer who they believe is working with the dangerous terrorist group terrorizing the Royal family Slade Security has been hired to protect. His initial attempt to use her to get information on her employer and access to their computer systems is thrown aside when he becomes romantically involved while portraying his suffer dude cover. I love this series and can't wait to read Trent's series that I hope will be published soon.

Trent and Chloe Make a Sweet Couple Leslie North’s “His Innocent Lover,” Book 3 of the Slade Security series, shares the story of the first of the sexy surf god Larson twins. Trent, who is a gorgeous as he is smart and dangerous, goes undercover to try to stop the terrorist group that has plagued the security team since the very beginning of the series, and he finds his way in by befriending an innocent secretary. Chloe Baker is beautiful, hard-working, and a little awed by the idea that tall, blonde, and sexy Trent could be interested in her. Navigating their road to HEA while also dealing with the dangerous side of Trent’s work makes this the steamy, suspenseful entertainment that I LOVE in a Leslie North book, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Trent is a former Navy SEAL and is working as a security person with his twin brother, Travis. Chloe is in San Diego helping her father with his rehabilitation by working as a temp for an environmental company that seems to be into sabotaging oil wells. Trent befriends her to get an inside into the company. I like how Trent falls for Chloe and how she tells him that there will be no more lying. Trent has a bad record with women while he's undercover to the extent that they try to kill him. Everyone thinks Chloe fits the mold. This story has a lot of action near the end and a lot of soul searching with familial love.
This book continues on with the storyline from books one and two - who is trying to destroy Jewel Oil? The concept of the storyline is good, but the execution is a little off - I got lost in all the characters that were integral to the bad guy's organization but only briefly mentioned - I guess there was not enough there to really care if the good guys won or lost. The romance is pretty instantaneous, but I didn't get the "soul mate" vibes in the conversations between the leads and then with the epilogue being a year out it was almost a letdown.

Chloe is the receptionist at the Guardians of the Earth office. Is she innocent of knowing anything of what is going on or is she guilty? Trent will use Chloe as a way in. But it is way harder than he thinks to keep his feelings at bay. Surf lessons from a very hot surfer dude. Dinner. A movie. Bed antics. Steamy night. Feelings. A hospital. A father behaving badly. Suspicions. A shower. Oops - a twin! Lies. A trip to Jawhara. Why is she there? Forced there perhaps? A drop-off. Shot. In the chest. Bodies everywhere. A job offer. Meeting a royal. A proposal. Love reigns again. Darn but I love this series. More please.
This series is about Slade Security who is currently trying to capture a dangerous terrorist group set on destroying oil wells before too many workers lose their lives and livelihood. Chloe Baker has moved to San Diego from Wyoming to get the medical care her father needs. She doesn’t know that the job she has through a temp agency might not be what it seems. As Trent Larson has the goal to get on her good side to infiltrate their office, it didn’t take him long to develop real feelings for her. When he finds she is in real danger, can he keep his head in the game.

Chloe is the receptionist at the Guardians of the Earth and Trent goes there to try to find out information on sabotage in Jawhara. Chloe and Trent have already promised to be honest with each other after she met his twin. Tent save Chloe and she joins him in working for Slade Security. It was a nice blend of intrigue and action in this story.
I enjoyed this book, quite a bit more than the previous one. It pulled me in and held my attention. I’m also glad that it gave me some of the follow-up information I wanted so desperately out of book two. I thought Chloe was sweet, though painfully naïve at times. I liked Trent, but he seemed to have some trouble staying in character and that made me question his reputation as a formidable security operative. I liked this pair together and I really appreciated that we got to see the conclusion to the Jawhara mysteries. But now I want to know what’s happening with twin brother Travis. This is book 3 and the last in North's Slade Security Team series. If you've read this series from the start, you've met Trent in book 1 - he's on mission for Slade Security trying to get to the files of an environmental group. Chloe is working as a receptionist and is new in town, helping her father with treatments at a local clinic. These two meet and it's a perfect storm...North does a great job in this well written romance. Captivating from start to finish - I loved these characters and this romance!
