As a former member of the Canadian Infantry, Danny Reich, has been waiting for someone to tell him that a mistake was made, he didn’t belong, he didn’t measure up, and he needed to go back to his old life. He loved being a Ghost but sometimes the self-doubt inside him caused him to take stupid chances and insane risks. A routine surveillance job on the borders between Russia and Finland was not meant to be what broke him. Operating on Finnish soil is not allowed. Neither is falling in love, but what the heck… if he was going to get booted, he may as well make it epic.

Kill first, ask questions later, has been Samu *Solo* Tikkanen’s motto for as long as he’s been a member of Finland’s elite Utti Jaeger Regiment. When his helo is shot down in remote wilderness near the Russian border, and his whole team dies, he must figure out not only how to go on without his brothers in arms to stand shoulder to shoulder with him as Finland faces invasion from an unknown enemy but also how to trust the laid back easy going Canadian who saved him. This would be so much easier if he could see where the threat to his country is coming from. With Finland and the whole of Europe at stake, now is not the time for falling in love. There are so many reasons he should stay away from Danny Reich. And so many more why his heart should not be on the table at all.

But rules were meant to be twisted and bent, while skimming right on the line between right and wrong, Solo finds it’s impossible to stop his foolish heart from hoping that he can be the one ‘To Tame a Ghost’.

Annabella Stone and Bella Stone are the alter egos of a wife and mom, who was lucky enough to find happy ever after with her own personal hero.

Annabella loves to write Military Romance and Romantic Suspense where warriors love harder when bullets fly. She believes in love at first sight and wants everyone to have the happy ever they deserve. Even if they have to dodge bullets and fight with everything that they are to get it.

Born and raised in Ireland, Annabella has a Grá for a good story and the breakfast blaa, but funnily enough, prefers Jack Daniels to Irish whiskey. Having lived across 7 countries and 3 continents over the last thirty years, she loves to explore new places and cultures. In her world, coffee is king, and she is 100% sure it deserves it's own food group.

Annabella is owned by a pack of malamutes, whom she loves to both work and show. If you can't find her at the computer writing, chances are she and her woofers have escaped to enjoy at day at a dog show, or they are on a mountain trail with the dryland rig or the sled, depending on the time of year.

Annabella's motto is "Live life like a malamute who found the gate open, but take the time to enjoy the sights while you're running."

Danny Reich is one of the good ones, he just doesn't realize it. He's the guy who hangs just out of the limelight but he's always there with an assist or providing a needed bit of information or filling an unanticipated need. Samu "Solo" Takanen is a member of Finland’s elite Utti Jaeger Regiment. He's a man who just suffered immeasurable loss and his country is under attack. He's a man who needs rescuing. Danny is in the right place at the right time. What neither of them never imagined is that as a result off the loss and the rescue they find their "one" in each other. Solo sees the man underneath the insecurities. His steadfast loyalty draws Samu in like a moth to the flame. The Ghost Protectors and Red Squadron lend a hand in putting down the insurgency. Once al. Is said and done Danny and Solo ponder their future and a long distance relationship when Rock comes up with a with a surprising offer.

Annabella Stone once again wrote a dynamic and exciting story of Operators saving those they love, finding their own love, and making their place in the world, all while embracing their team mates. This most current book brings us Danny Reich's story. We have met Danny before- a funny, irreverent man who really has a problem following orders or keeping quiet, but is loyal to his friends! In his own book, we get to know Danny as the humble Canadian he is. We follow his story as he meets Solo/Samu a Finnish soldier. Due to a twisted ex-family member (no spoilers!), Danny and Samu remain behind as the Ghosts and Red Squadron join forces with the Finnish army in repelling invaders. While alone, well they explore each other and develop their own relationship. Danny's humble Canadian nature combined with Samu's European strength have these two develop a far more tender relationship than we are used to the writer's American Operators- all who embrace their testosterone with their American angst:-). Annabella Stone's writing always brings us deeply personal stores of each of her characters, and also arcs them as teammates through each of her series. Every character becomes part of the greater story- all their strengths, fears (usually spiders or snakes- LOL) and loyalty enhance and support each other through missions and through their personal lives. Getting to know each character personally and meeting new characters as they develop makes reading Ms. Stone's books always so exciting!

Decent romance

Likes:
- No consent issues
- No emotional abuse
-The characters are kind to children and do not dehumanize women (even though this is a MM romance).
-HFN

Dislikes:
- The characters have issues with bonding emotions and they don’t really show a lot of growth in that area. A lot of men are lonely because they don’t know how to make friends or interact with a romantic partner. Threatening people and cursing at them when you are afraid of feeling too close or afraid of losing them is self-sabotaging behavior. The only character who addresses this is a woman, and since this is a MM romance and the characters refuse mental therapy, one of the men partners needs to put in the work to figure out bonding relationships improve psychological resilience during a crisis and take concrete steps to build a local social support network where friends and romantic partners aren’t scared to be kind to each other or treat each other with respect. It’s not as fun to read about characters almost establishing a stable romantic relationship as it is to read about them overcoming personal obstacles and outside barriers to grow toward actually having a nice romantic relationship with someone.
Minus one star

-I don’t really like HFN’s because it feels like a cliffhanger, even if it’s probably to promote the next book in the series. It’s not as emotionally satisfying as a HEA.

Wow, Danny and Samu/Solo are just the best addition to the world Annabella Stone is creating.

As usual, this book is fast paced, lots of action and a love story which makes them topping the list of couples in this author's universe.

Danny - stumbling over an attack on a Finnish special force team and rescuing the lone surviver.
Samu - feeling helpless that his brothers are killed, seeing his country invaded and having to rely on a stranger.
They fall in love while running for their lives and Ghost Team and Red Squadron are there to cheer them on.

Danny and Samu have chemistry, they are well written and the storyline flies without stumbling. I love Stew (no spoilers who he is, you need to read the book). While the number of secondary characters is quite large, if you are a follower of Ms Stone's books, it's not hard to keep track on it. These books have. to be read in order of publishing ideally as they interlink.

And it's. always great to see Griff and Rock and Nobel and Max again.

I would have loved to see a scene with Samu's family though.

In a way the storyline is a bit too close to comfort. It is not difficult to imagine the scenario in the real world.

Loved all the action and suspense in this one, very edgy and exciting. With all the real life issues going on right now this was quite believable up to a point, though I'm sure those in trouble would love covert teams flying in to help save the day. Both main characters have vulnerabilities and heartache, Solo especially. In between the military action it is mostly about the two of them connecting, getting to know more about each other and the sexual side of the relationship. I do think Stew stole the show though, not quite sure what he thought he was, maybe a fierce protective dog or an angry bull but he sure was protecting something. Betrayal, intrigue and a threatened war as well as romance all in a steady paced story.

Great story incorporating current events!

I would have given this book 5 stars! I loved the beginning and the end. Loved the dynamic between Solo and Danny. The details around special ops and politics is good..reminding a bit of Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn books. What disappointed me was the writing and poor editing when they were at the farm...around 52% of the book. Don't want to spoil that part 😉 It went from tight and cohesive to a bit of a mess. Almost seemed like someone else wrote that part of the story. The sentence structures and misspellings drove me nuts. I continued despite them and am glad I did as it got back on track. Enjoy!

Love!

I love it when you spread the love around and this time we got both Ghost and Red Squadron together!
Danny is a ghost and he has been sent on a simple recon mission.  Then all hell breaks loose!
Solo/ Samu is a Finnish soldier that just lost his squad and is being hunted!
In comes Danny and leads Solo out of the danger but pretty soon we realize the danger is not over and they are on the run!
Then we get a country being invaded and a rooster (roosters are mean suckers!) named Stew and plenty of snark and Danny trying but failing to follow orders as usual and then Bam!  We find love!
You did good Annabella!!

Danny’s Story

“How Copy?” Straight up great copy! This is the third Ghost book and it is fast paced, lots of interesting twists and turns. The action is current and up to date with current events and scary in its realism. All our favorite operators from Ghosts to Red Squadron are in on the action. Danny finds his one and only out in the middle of a snow covered forest on a simple recon mission. Now will they live long enough to be together and who knew a rooster was such a good early warning system? Love love loved this book!

When a recon mission goes completely upside down, Danny is left helping out a stranger stay alive and get to safety. What he did not count on was the connection the two immediately feel. Will Solo allow Danny into his inner circle and work with him to safe their lives? Or will Solo need to stay like his moniker states and stay alone? With great characters and a storyline that will grip your heart this was a fantastic read.

Behind Enemy Lines

Danny, a Ghost soldier, was on a solo mission, when he witnessed a helicopter being attacked. Contacting Dreamland, the decision was made to help. Samu, soldier in the Finnish army, had escaped the fiery crash, but his team didn't make it. Danny rescued Samu and they made it to Samu home. It wasn't until Danny made contact with Rock and Grif, that Samu knew he could trust Danny. Their relationship took several turns, but in the end the journey was worth it.

Snow and Bullets

I loved this book. Danny and Solo are quite a pair. Both operators used to leading when they needed to. Danny sees Solo basically fall from the sky and then he has to convince Solo he's there to help. The attraction is instant on both sides but they both try to deny it.
I was happy to get another book with all the guys in it. Looking forward to reading more.

Another wild ride with the Ghosts and friends and I loved it. Of course you think about Ukraine and how Turkey is holding up Finland's membership in NATO and I wish we could take on Putin with guys like the Ghosts. It was exciting and scary(blowing up helos are especially harrowing)and Danny and Samu are so hot together and I loved how they were able to stay together. And Stew is a riot!

loving these guys

Ever wonder what it would be like to live as a ghost? These guys do it with a twist! Each book follows a different couple but others are there as side characters. I’m ready, who’s next!?

The stories are good but once again I am distracted by spelling errors that just don't need to happen. Proof reading and editing by a program are simply not enough and end up missing way too many errors. The author really needs to have live proofreaders.

I love the story of Danny and Solo. There is a lot of emotion in this book. Danny feels like he isn't good enough for Ghost's, Solo loses his whole team on a helicopter crash. Danny is there at the right time to save him and get him to safety.
From the start, there is an instant attraction between the two men trying to stay alive, finding out what happened and trying to prevent a war means they have to keep their growing attraction in check.
Another great book by Annabella Stone

Might be the funniest yet

Totally laughed out loud with this one. Lexi has only one little appearance, so she's not the source of the humor. There's this new character .... Stew.

Another 5 star very emotional read by Annabella Stone. Two men with emotional issues due to very traumatic events. Her Ghost Protectors series always get me right in the heart, making me just as emotional.

Ghost Daniel Reich has never felt like he belongs. He's on a solo mission when he witnesses a horrific event. Knowing there is a survivor, he rushes to save them as others hunt for the kill.

This is a highly emotional story between two strong men.

I am still determining where my review disappeared, but I am here to correct that. I loved this book the first time I read it and have continued to love it many times since.

I had been patiently waiting for Danny to get his story, and when he finally did, it did not disappoint. Solo and Danny were made for each other; it just takes a little while to figure it out. Stew provided comedic relief, but alas, I can not say more or would give too much away. You will have to read it to find out!

Love the Ghost’s

Loved Danny and Solo! I always love seeing all the extra people make appearances. Sad for Solo but happy they found each other. Pretty sure Stew stole the show lol. Is Serge staying?
