Robin and Franky have been captured by CP9 and locked in the courthouse on Enies Lobby. The Straw Hats and Franky's crew must join forces if they want to save their friends. But before they can rescue them, they must face Spandam's six deadly assassins. Can the two groups work together, or will CP9 finally win?
Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.
As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

One Piece, Vol. 41 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next eleven chapters (389–399) of the on-going manga series.
This tankōbon continues the Enies Lobby Arc. The Straw Hats and Cipher Pol 9 (CP9), and their two captives, face each other down. Once again, Nico Robin tries turning the crew away, but when Monkey D. Luffy tells her that she can die as part of the crew instead, Robin experiences a flashback to her childhood.
Raised on an island of archaeologists, Robin and the rest of the islanders attempt to discover the secret of the void century, a period in time that the government forbids anyone to know. To prevent knowledge of the void century from spreading, the island and its inhabitants, except Robin, are destroyed. She is allowed to escape, challenging her to find friends and to live.
Realizing that she had almost given up on both, Robin decides she wants to live with the rest of the Straw Hats. Touched by their words, Franky reveals that the blueprints CP9 have been searching are hidden on his person, but they are not that of Pluton, but an "opposing weapon" and he promptly destroys them, giving CP9 no further reason to keep him in custody.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Eiichirō Oda. More of Nico Robin's tragic backstory is revealed as she is born and raised on an island of archeologists who wants to study a time period that the World Government would like to keep secret and in order to do so, eliminates all the inhabitants of the island – except for Nico Robin, who was spared. Traumatized, and with a bounty on her head, Robin lives a life on the run, unable to trust anyone. To survive, she cooperates with various pirates and other outlaws until she meets the Straw Hat Pirates, who would protect her at all cost and never betray her.
All in all, One Piece, Vol. 41 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
near perfect volume, wow what an adventure, while the strawhats all come to rescue Robin we finally get her origin story and what happened 20 years ago in Ohara - how it was the land of the scholars and how they wanted to know the truth behind the "void century" and all that followed, that there used to be a kingdom 800 years ago but the world govt don't want anyone to know it, they trigger the buster call and ohara is wiped and so much happens, its so traumatic and emotional and seeing how Robin had to go through it, suffer through it and found it difficult to survive and why she don't want strawhats going through it too, its probably one of the best stories ever, and when luffy destroys the flag and declares war against the world govt and when she shouts "I wanna live" crying through it..OMFG WOW. I cried. Its the greatest moment ever and now its Luffy vs the world govt!! This arc keeps on getting more and more exciting!!
In the background of Luffy & Crew's assault on Enies Lobby, we learn the backstory of not only Nico Robin, but the World Government itself and, most likely, the true main arc of One Piece's not-at-all silly plot.
A spectacular volume filled with joy, pathos, action, and tenderness in perfect balance. This is the payoff we've been waiting for that makes reading all these volumes worthwhile.
Robin's flashback! ...feels a bit lengthy and occasionally weirdly plotted and jumbled, but it nails every single lesson and emotional beat like a champ and ends up perhaps the most memorable of all Straw Hat backstories (though still not quite my favourite). You can see where she's coming from, how she ended up the way she did, why she's so terrified of the absurdly overkill Buster Call, and why she's so desperate to not be rescued. And Luffy, as is his wont, couldn't care less about any of it and strikes straight into the heart of the matter. Cue the flag fire.
For all its flaws, one of the big memorable bits in the entire story. Nothing I've said that no one else has said before. I'm just saying.
''Yaşamak istiyorum! Beni de yanınızda denize götürün.''
Çocukluğumda, doğru dürüst altyazı okuyamıyor olsam bile Nico Robin'in hikayesi bana çok dokunmuştu.
One Piece is one of the most unique and interesting works of fiction of all time. Oda has an imagination like few others. Some people adore One Piece to an obsessive degree, while others cannot for the life of them understand the hype. Regardless of varying opinions out there, I'm glad this series exists.
ENIES LOBBY ARC - PART 2 1. holy shit, what is that gear second of luffy's. what did he DO to his body, how does it work?
2. the giant who talked with robin is called 'jaguar d. saul' - d. again??
3. what happened in the void century that was so bad that 800 years later, it's STILL a high crime??? how many ponegliffs exist? WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE KINGDOM HELLO PLEASE TELL ME YOU CAN'T JUST DEAD HIM RIGHT AS HE WANTS TO SPILL DA BEANS
4. how does a ship have to be designed to carry a giant properly without sinking?
5. robin's story :( the genocide of ohara, saul's promise to robin that she's not gonna be alone and she's not meant to be alone and she's gonna have friends :(((( i will never forget you, mister DERESHISHISHISHISHISHI
6. i like admiral aokiji, because in this isolated incident, those were adults making unlawful decisions, no matter how well-intentioned they might have been, so they chose their own fate. this child, who said she was an archaeologist, doesn't understand, might have been influenced or else, so allowing her to live and judge her or exert justice on her actions is somewhat fair. NOW, that does NOT mean it's not cruel in its own right, because now there's a whole ass bounty on her head, she is getting betrayed left and right, there's no safe place for her all while she is still a child. so how fair is it, really, in the grand scheme of things?
7. i wonder how much will change with the straw hats having declared war to the world government, as they're being hunted for their bounty and them being pirates in the first place. i think the world gvt. will probably strengthen the focus on the straw hats then and try to target them directly and bring them down. not only a 'capture them' but a 'definitely kill them on the battlefield in whatever way possible'
8. robin's resolve to finally dare to wish to be alive. IM TEARING UP, major goosebumps

"- ¡¡Mirad esa bandera, piratas!!
