Rate this book
From USA Today bestselling author Kimberly Knight, comes the conclusion to the story that left you speechless and begging for more.

“Stacey isn’t coming.”

Those three words leave Blake with a broken heart and a non-refundable trip to Mexico.

Wanting to drown his sorrows in alcohol and women, he turns his would-be honeymoon into the ultimate bachelor trip. Much to his surprise, he runs into an old friend on his first night there.

Sarah is celebrating her divorce and, like Blake, looking for a good time in Cabo to forget the past. The pair quickly reconnect, becoming closer than they had been that summer years ago.

When their trip is over, and it’s time to leave the sunny sands of paradise, they go their separate ways, unhappy their time together has ended so soon. Sarah returns home to Vegas to work on her dreams of opening a veterinary clinic, and Blake returns to his nightmare.

Blake soon discovers the reason Stacey left him at the altar, and her secret turns his world upside down. The betrayal is too much for him to handle on his own, so he turns to Sarah for help. When she suggests he comes to Vegas to escape his troubles, they expect to have hot sex with no strings attached, but unforeseen feelings leave them confused … and wanting more.

But Blake can’t hide from his problems forever, and eventually, he’ll need to make a choice.

Will he end up with the one who has held his heart for years but left it shattered into a million pieces or the one who helped put it back together?

There’s only one way to find out.

Part 2 in the Chase Duet is different than I could have imagined in advance, but that doesn't make it wrong.

Blake and Stacey are about to get married but then Stacey leaves him at the altar. Blake doesn't know what hit him, tries to get her back but she lets him go.
Alone on what would be their honeymoon, Blake leaves for Mexico. There he meets Sarah, a ghost from the past. And even though Blake was madly in love with Stacey, his heart opens for Sarah.

Beautiful story that turns out surprisingly differently after reading The Dance.
Stacey is barely in the picture in this story that revolves mainly around Blake and Sarah.
To me, the romance between Blake and Sarah seemed less passionate than between Blake and Stacey, but I did see the growth Blake has experienced and the more mature he reacted to situations.
Beautiful duet and what a way to be taken into a 12 year span of Blake's life.

Thanks to the author Kimberly Knight for providing an ARC. This is my unvarnished opinion of the book

Great ending to a story I really enjoyed. This story keeps you wondering what will happen next and if happiness ever after will occur.

This picks right up where The Dance left off. You feel devastated for Blake and feel sorry for Stacey also. I like that we get both of their point of views. I like seeing where their minds are. I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason. That when a door closes, a window opens kind of thing. This couldn’t be more true for Blake and Stacey. I never thought I would see the day Blake would be in love and want to be settled down.

Wow – what a story!

Ok, after the ending of the previous book, I wasn’t sure where this book would go, but WOW, not only did it shock me, but I loved it! And I totally get the references to Garth Brooks songs now… lol The Dance and Shameless? Nice.

So this book starts right after Stacey ditched Blake at the alter… She knows she’s pregnant and that the baby just has to be Eddie’s (her ex that she had a fling with on the 4th of July), so she heads to him. Blake doesn’t understand what is going on, and since Stacey refuses to talk to him, he decides to go ahead to his honeymoon vacation in Cabo without her.

While in Cabo, he runs into Sarah, who is the niece of his mothers’ best friend and who he had met a decade ago when he was working the apple tree farm. They rekindle their friendship – both have just gotten out of relationships – Blake left at the altar, and Sarah recently divorced. They eventually become more – except he still lives in Texas, and she now lives in Las Vegas.

When he returns home, he finally talks with Stacey, and she tells him why she left him – she’s pregnant, and the baby is most likely not his. Since he has started a new relationship with Sarah, he is seemingly okay with this – mad but ok. His work lets him go to Vegas to scout out a new gym location for his brother, and they spend time together. She follows him on a whim back to Austin when a tragedy occurs with her aunt, and some other truths come out.

Overall, this was a fantastic book, and I loved the boombox scene with Shameless playing… It made me want to go back and watch that movie!

I definitely recommend reading this duet! It was amazing!

I received an ARC for my honest review!

It was all planned out, they were days away from saying their vows and escaping on their romantic getaway... but sometimes plans change and people change their minds. Blake thought his life Stacey was just beginning, but she decided it was over before it even had a chance to begin.

Now he finds himself going on a honeymoon that lacks it's original appeal, but little does he know, it's about to give him a future he never planned. One with a happier ending!

Shameless is a beautiful story of hope, healing, and second chances that will touch your heart! Seeing Blake's world fall apart was heartbreaking, but upon arriving in Mexico our hero thinks he's found the perfect cure for that heartbreak, with an old friend name Sarah. Seeing her again is unexpected but also brings him hope that maybe his future wasn't completely lost. But just as the pieces of our hero's life are starting to fall back into place, his past decides to muddy things and stir up a bit of drama.

After reading the first installment this is not how I saw this duet ending, but I can honestly say that knowing what I know now I wouldn't have wanted it to end any other way. This was such a surprising and heartfelt ending to this duet, and I loved every minute of it! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Shameless offers an ending to Blake's story, one that I didn't see coming. And I shouldn't be surprised because I went in blind, the same as I had done with The Dance (book 1). The story picks up where the previous book left: a heartbroken and confused Blake left at the altar by Stacey and determined to clear his mind on a honeymoon in Cabo for one.

He has no clue what went wrong, and Stacey doesn't offer much more than a text with an "I'm sorry." She is in pain and confused as well, but at least she has a motive. While The Dance focused on Stacey, Shameless is Blake's story. Who would have thought he would see in Mexico someone from his past? And Sarah is something else. She is on a trip with friends to forget about her divorce.

Blake and Sarah have so much in common, and there is an instant connection. They get each other and lend an ear to hear the other's sorrows. Their story is natural, romantic, and powerful. Blake is more mature and grown up. He is willing to put in the effort and not just go with the flow. Sarah is a beautiful soul.

I know this was Blake's story. But after reading so much about Stacey in The Dance, I wish there have been a bit more about what happened to her. That's the only thing I missed!

Poor Blake, The Dance (Book 1) left off with his life in the toilet after the woman he was about to marry called it quits. Shameless (his concluding chapter so don't start off with it) shows him going on his honeymoon alone which wasn't what he wanted obviously, but fate definitely decided to get involved. He comes face to face with an old friend named Sarah, and they decide to have some no strings attached fun (the best laid plans are always full of irony), but their time was over way too quickly so they went their separate ways. However, that pesky past won't stay put, and when his life was calming down, BAM! Here comes that past filled with drama to do more damage. This story was filled with all kinds of emotion as Blake really got put through the ringer with betrayal & man, I wanted to give this man a hug. He still has Sarah in his corner, and maybe just maybe, they'll decide to give things a go but I'll never tell so you'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! This is a second chance at love at its very finest so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I highly recommend reading That Summer, a free novella from Kimberly Knight that kind of sets up where this book is headed. It fills in so much detail about the summer Blake spent on the Apple Farm, and I think readers will get so much out of it by reading that first before starting Shameless. Though I will say that it isn't necessary to understand Shameless. If you have at least read The Dance though, you'll want to start there.

After finishing The Dance, I had a feeling I knew where this duet was heading, and I was right. While I'm not completely upset, I also feel a bit duped. I am not a fan of the bait & switch when it comes to love interests as to me it always feels like a move for shock value. That felt like the case here for me. While I was torn with how I wanted things to turn out, when it came down to how things played out here, I felt like it wasn't really what I had gone into the story hoping for or ultimately expecting. Still just so torn and not completely satisfied. This was definitely not my favorite from Kimberly Knight.

WOW! I was not expecting this story to end this way. After the way things left in the first book, I was left questioning what was going to happen next. Part 2 picks up exactly where we left off with Blake getting left at the alter and Stacey running because of something.

This was definitely an emotional rollercoaster ride with so many ups and downs that I wasn’t sure what kind of happy ending we were going to get. There were times that this story made me really angry and times that I was once again gushing with love for Blake.

Fate is a fickle bitch, but in the case of Blake, Stacey and Sarah, I felt like things played out exactly as they were supposed to in order for them all to have happy endings.

Well written story about healing, forgiveness and finding love again amidst heartbreak.

I enjoyed every moment and highly recommend this duet.

Blake thought he had life all planned out but what should have been the happiest day of his life didn’t turn out the way he planned. He decides to proceed with his travel plans even if the trip was supposed to be for a very different reason. While there reunites with Sarah, a woman from his past, and their time together becomes so much more than a way to heal from their pasts.

With the end of their vacation the complications of their lives begin, and they must decide what and who will truly make them happy.

The evolution of the characters and the emotions they evoke is what makes this story so entertaining as we realize that sometimes there is a bigger plan as long as we open our heart to the possibilities.

I had a major book hangover when I finished The Dance, and couldn’t wait to find out how Blake’s story would end. My heart broke for Blake when Stacey left him at the altar. I hoped the author had a few tricks up her sleeve, and she did not disappoint. It was worth the wait to watch things play out.

After being jilted, Blake goes on his ‘honeymoon’ anyway, if only to get out of town and clear his head. Fate had plans for him and he runs into a familiar face at the resort in Mexico. Then…the sparks flew!!

This was an amazing conclusion, a rollercoaster ride filled with angst, love, laughter, and even a few tears (I have no problem admitting I teared up in a few places). I loved this ending to Blake’s story, and that he finally found the right woman for him.

I really could not have asked for a more epic conclusion to what was one of the best duets I’ve read all year . The most wonderfully written characters you cannot stop yourself from falling in love with , the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, the humor , the witty banter , the unexpected surprises, the family , the passion, the love , the friendships . It’s literally a emotional rollercoaster that’s going to leave you speechless, it’s going to make you smile and laugh out loud and cry so freaking hard . You’ll root for both Blake and Sarah to get their happy ending and you’ll fight so hard to keep your eyes open because as tired as you are you will not be able to stop reading . It’s just perfection as per every book Kimberly Knight writes .

This is the 2nd and conclusion of this amazing duet. Blake is devastated and leaves on what should have been a romantic honeymoon alone, where he connects with a blast from his past Sarah, who is recently divorced. My heart broke for both Blake and Stacey, but when one door closes another one opens. This is a beautifully written emotional roller coaster, which has secrets, truths, drama, betrayal, twists, healing, challenges, heartbreak, 2nd chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining and riveting page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Shameless is the second book in this duet, and The Dance needs to be read in order to understand what is happening here.
After Blake was let at the altar, he meets Sarah. She’s the one to pick up the broken pieces.
But once Blake returns home and he learns the truth about Stacey, he will have to choose…
In this book, the story is more about Blake, and how he deals with things after the wedding that didn’t go through. Blake has matured so much over the years, you can tell by the way he handles things in his life.
This book had me feeling all the feels, happiness, sorrow, uncertainty, doubt.
I’m so happy how the end of the book turned out.

I shamelessly admit I didn't see it all coming. There were so many wonderfully mind blowing, unexpected situations that occur in the story. I knew when I started the book that I would be in for a big surprise. After all, The Dance, book one, ended with a doozie of a cliffhanger. But I had no clue it would be so shocking, so thrilling, so satisfying.

The surprises just kept coming. Unfortunately, not all turned out to be good surprises. Everything could change with the results of one little test. Blake's past comes back to haunt him at the most inopportune time, risking his happiness. And just when I thought everything was blossoming the world comes crashing down.

All of the surprises made for a very entertaining story. I couldn't wait to see what Blake got himself into next. I even learned about some of his not so great moments from the past. Thank goodness it was his past. Blake rocks at being in love. He is even better at showing it. Shameless left me beaming. Shameless is a beautiful love story that I won't soon forget.

What an ending! Shameless picks up right where The Dance left off and it's heartbreaking for Blake. He decides to take the honeymoon trip anyways to get his life back in balance. While there, he meets up with an old friend Sarah. Neither wants their time to end but both have to get back to their own lives. While this is a second chance romance, I feel that the story is more about Blake and his journey to becoming the man he needs to be. I really enjoyed reading about his growth.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book!

Fantastic!

I loved Blake's character in other books that Kimberly wrote so I've waited a long time for Blake's story and it was so worth the wait. My heart broke with his and healed with his. You not only got to read his story I could feel him growing as it went.

As always Kimberly caught all the feelings and brought the characters to life as she wrote them to be relatable and tossed in some things you don't see coming.

An exciting and steamy romance read

Sarah, a veterinarian, and Blake, a nightclub and gym owner, both need a vacation for very different reasons. As the story progresses something stirs in the air, they get in each others hair, and they may let things go before they determine feelings are there. Shameless is an exciting and steamy romance read.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

5+ STARS FOR SHAMELESS!! My #1 Book/Duet of the year so far!! Oh my heart was pulled around, but it was worth the torture I went through. Blake, oh how I love him and Sarah was perfect in every way possible. This author has written a beautiful story with hard subject, but she handled it with perfection.

Sweet, sexy, and like life, a bit messy. But Sometimes it’s the clean-up of the messy that helps you find your way, and finding “The One”. I finally didn’t want to smack Blake upside the head like I did in The Dance. He ends up doing all the right things. That made me really happy.
Even with some hearts being broken, everyone involved gets the ending that they should.

The bright light to my darkness….she’s my fate and destiny.

I have been anxiously awaiting the conclusion of Blake’s journey and the author did not disappoint. My heart hurt for Blake, but watching him work his way through his heartbreak was so fun to witness. There were a few things I would have liked to see more of, but overall this book was absolutely fantastic.

Hmmm 🤔

There's so many things I want to say about this story, but I shall keep it Spoiler free. This story did not pick up how I expected it to nor did it end the way I expected it to. I'm going to leave it like that.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Kimberly Knight has written a perfect conclusion for Blake Montgomery. His wild ways and charming smile have brought him full circle in a life filled with crazy twists and turns. The feeling of frustration I felt at the end of The Dance has finally been soothed. Only a sense of relief remains.

This book is only slightly less of a rollercoaster ride than its predecessor. The action is still non-stop. However, the moments in between are more peaceful because Blake has a newfound maturity that is refreshing and grounding. He weathers the ups and downs in his life without the recklessness that is his signature fallback. His cockiness has given way to self-assurance that is so much more attractive.

The appearance of former characters with new circumstances is what makes this novel interesting. The highs and lows they encountered kept me entertained. Ms. Knight has done an excellent job of bringing Blake and all of the people his world to a place where they will find their happy ending.
