Sarebbero più quattro stelle, quattro stelle e mezza, ma la trama della fuga da Impel Down é talmente appassionante che l'assenza forzata della ciurma di Cappello di Paglia si sente un po' meno.
Vorrei quasi comprare i due romanzi prequel/spin-off su Ace ed i Pirati di Picche, recentemente pubblicati in Italia da Star Comics, per approfondirne la storia, ma trenta euro per due light-novel da un centinaio di pagine l'una sono praticamente una rapina a mano armata...

Ay igual había olvidado un poco lo que me dolía este arco 🥺 primero lo de Bon chan se sacrificó para que todos pudieran escapar ya que aunque lograron librarse de Magellan gracias a Jimbe y sus habilidades de Gyojin, más conseguir un barco, aún faltaba que se abrieran las puertas de la justicia. Bon chan lo hizo, quedándose y enfrentando la ira de Magellan.
Luego todo lo que envuelve a Ace, me parte el corazón su historia 🥺💔 el hijo de Roger, un bebé con la sangre maldita que no debió existir. El padre que el reconoce y lo vino a rescatar. Su madre, Garp y la petición de Roger de que cuidara al niño, quien no tenía la culpa de nada. Me quedan como 3 volúmenes con lágrimas aseguradas.
Luego todo lo que envuelve a Ace, me parte el corazón su historia 🥺💔 el hijo de Roger, un bebé con la sangre maldita que no debió existir. El padre que el reconoce y lo vino a rescatar. It should be the end of an arc, but instead it just comes across as a prelude to another, the greatest and most influential we've seen so far - the whole of the Impel Down climax is entirely eclipsed by what is revealed and what is to come. Ace's bloodline comes to light, Whitebeard's vast pirate armada sails forth, Blackbeard is on the move behind the scenes, an ant named Luffy seeks to throw himself into the hurricane, and Buggy turns out to be super important.
The turning point for the entire story is nigh.

This is the part where they escape the prison and we have some great endings and farewell to Mr 2 and his sacrifice was awesome and we learn so much about Ace here, he is the son of PIRATE ING GOLD ROGER and we learn how he and Luffy became brothers and how he first met Whitebeard hated him and then ultimately accepted him as his father and him going after blackbeard and finally THE MARINEFORD SAGA begins next isssue! This volume was just too good, epic, amazing, the art was fantastic and the groundwork has been laid!!

[Reviewing volumes 1-56. End of Impel Down arc]
One Piece - oh sweet Lord it's so good.
Right this volume though, the plot twist at the end was INTERESTING. No, it's definitely not the first plot twist. But the best one? I think so.
But. I've been reading and reading and I'm barely halfway and Eiichi is still drawing oh geez how am I gonna live when I catch up? Ha.
I knew of One Piece before but never wanted to start because I couldn't even finish the relatively short other mangas I started. But ha ha ha I guess it has the power of the love-love fruit ha ha. Sorry.

Goddamn. The end to another crazy wonderful arc and just barreling straight into the next. The stakes are insanely high and the world is in so much danger. I love this series so much!!!

One Piece, Vol. 56 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (542–551) of the on-going manga series.
This tankōbon concludes the Impel Down story arc. The escaped prisoners make their way to Impel Down's exit, dealing with any prison guards who try to stop them. When Magellan begins to thin their numbers, Blackbeard arrives to help Monkey D. Luffy by holding him off. Even though he wants to take revenge on Blackbeard for Ace's capture, Luffy escapes with the other inmates.
They procure a boat and set sail for Marine headquarters. Bon Clay stays behind to grant them passage. Meanwhile, with Portgas D. Ace's execution imminent, the reason for his death is given. He is not being executed because he is a leading member of Whitebeard's pirate crew, but because he is the son of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Eiichirō Oda. For the most part it is written and constructed rather well. It concludes the Impel Down story arc that has Monkey D. Luffy escape Impel Down with the help of the free convicts and surprisingly Blackbeard – the pirate responsible for the imprisonment of his half-brother – Portgas D. Ace, who just happens to be the son of Pirate King Gol D. Roger – the pirate who found and hidden the treasure One Piece.
All in all, One Piece, Vol. 56 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

IMPEL DOWN ARC - FINAL PART
1. i'm quite hyped (in a very scared way) about all that is going to go down. blackbeard betrayed the navy and wants to profit off the war. buggy as well as sir crocodile both want the head of whitebeard. meanwhile you have shanks and kaido fighting and readying up in this war, too. as for now, everybody is on the same side, or at the very least, have the same goal: get to marineford. but i'm so scared what will happen, once they set foot in it. everybody will be enemies again, and plans and interests will cross. it will be messy, sad, and amazing.

Este tomo continúa con la enorme cantidad de acción que inició en el tomo pasado. Me gusta la acción y los combates en One Piece, pero no es la razón principal porque leo esta serie: la historia es compleja y sus personajes están cuidadosamente construidos, haciendo un verdadero deleite seguir a los protagonistas en su aventura.
Eso sucede en este tomo, la primera mitad son batallas y encuentros interesantes entre dos personajes que tenía que haber sucedido desde que Luffy se enteró de la ejecución de Ace, pero me agrada que finalmente pudimos ver el encuentro de esos dos personajes.
La segunda mitad tiene dos momentos muy importantes para la historia en general. Por un lado tenemos un momento muy emotivo y fuerte entre el Okama, uno de mis personajes favoritos, y Luffy. Es difícil que una serie me provoque el nudo de la garganta pero One Piece lo ha logrado varias veces y esta fue una de esas veces.
Y el segundo momento sucede casi al final del tomo, cuando nos revelan los verdaderos motivos de la ejecución de Ace y su importancia en toda la trama que nos estaba contando el maestro Oda desde el primer tomo. Esta revelación si me sorprendió y me hizo encontrarle más sentido a todo este arco de la guerra.
Hablando del arco de la guerra, al finalizar este tomo, parece que la introducción o el prólogo de este arco finalmente concluyó y el siguiente tomo arrancará con la guerra desde la página uno. Estoy emocionado y lamentablemente tendré que esperar hasta octubre para leer lo que sigue.

Blackbeard arrived at Impel Down. Blackbeard Pirates confronts Luffy group. Magellan easily defeat the whole Blackbeard Pirates with his poison.
All of them arrived at the entrance of Impel Down. But, all the Marine ships already departed. Crocodile, Jinbe, Buggy and Daz Bonez (Mr. 1) steal a Marine ship.
They managed to escape from Impel Down. The remaining Marine ships were attacking them. Gate of Justice that controlled the current was opened by Bon Clay. He was left behind to make sure Luffy going to Marineford. On that day 241 prisoners successfully escaped from Impel Down.

Shiryuu saves Blackbeard Pirates by giving them an antidote. Blackbeard offers Shiryuu to join his crew.
Luffy and the others head to Marineford. Ace's execution is in 3 hours. Marine have prepared well their reinforcements; three Admirals, Admiral Akainu, Admiral Kizaru and Admiral Aokiji, 100,000 thousands Marine ranked Vice Captain and above, and also 5 Shichibukai, Dracule Mihawk, Boa Hancock, Bartholomew Kuma, Gecko Moria and Donquixote Doflamingo.
It is revealed that, Ace is the son of Gol D. Roger.
Whitebeard's fleet consists of 43 ships arrived at Marineford. Whitebeard's main ship, Moby Dick along with other 4 ships appear from under the sea. Whitebeard and his 14 squad leaders are ready to fight!

Well this is it for my trip down memory lane of the One Piece volumes I read from 4th to 12th grade. The series for me definitely peaked in the East Blue and Alabasta sagas, Enies Lobby brought a lot of the hype/enjoyment back, and then I finished strong with Impel Down. But younger me just got too caught up with life to continue after what was an admittedly EPIC cliffhanger. Most of the action in the volume is devoted to Luffy, Buggy, Crocodile, Mr 3, Jimbei, and hundreds of other prisoners doing the impossible and breaking out of Impel Down. Along the way there’s some epic moments like Luffy meeting Blackbeard again.
Then there's the epically tragic/heartwarming moment of Bon Clay sacrificing himself to give his friends a chance at freedom. Tears were shed all around.
Even after that epic escape from the prison, Oda Sensei keeps the momentum going into the start of Ace’s Execution (including a truth of his heritage that is one of the reasons he’s to be executed) and Whitebeard launching a war to save him.
Volume 56 was an epic volume to end my reread on and I’m looking forward to personally entering “uncharted” One Piece territory

Fua, muy buen tomo. Vale que no llega a la altura de los más épicos, pero es que todo el arco de la prisión es SUPERDIVERTIDO, la enorme cantidad de personajes y cameos, la intensidad de las emociones con Bon, lo carismático que está Cocodrilo (quién iba a decirme a mí que me iba a gustar tanto) y Jinbei (fan total de Jinbei, lo quiero mucho, que me dejen adoptarlo). Y la intensidad de la revelación, uf.

Misi Luffy untuk keluar dari Impel Down supaya bisa segera menyelamatkan Ace berhasil setelah melakukan pertempuran yang cukup lama dengan Magellan dan para anak buahnya. Namun, itu juga berkat Bon Clay yang berhasil menyamar menjadi Magellan sehingga pintu gerbang bisa dibuka. Selain itu, di bagian ini ketika Ace sudah dibawa keluar untuk segera dieksekusi, diberitahu bahwa ternyata ia adalah anak dari Gol D. Roger. Pernyataan tersebut membuat kaget orang-orang yang mendengarnya.
