After blurb reveal:

With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.

Hardin? Seriously? You couldn't be bothered to make it an entirely different name from Harry?

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless… could this be love?

I think I just wet myself laughing.

Pre-review: One Direction fanfiction got published and movie rights have been sold.

I'm sincerely happy for the author, but SERIOUSLY?

Sam I...don't think I fully understand how you can publish something like One Direction fanfic? I mean...they're real people, and wouldn't that also be a copyright issue? I mean... maybe I'm overthinking it.

message 2: by Natalie (new) - added it

Natalie Monroe I hear they're changing the names when it gets published, but I agree. These are real people and it's just weird.

message 3: by Sam (new)

Sam Super weird. Hopefully it sees more editing than Fifty Shades did...

message 4: by Andre (new)

Andre Why should it? That piece of shit made money so why should the publishers spent any effort on it?
Plus One Direction is so popular that fans will buy it to make more than enough money.

message 5: by Natalie (new) - added it

Natalie Monroe Agreed. iD fans are scary.

message 6: by Sam (new)

Sam <-- Picturing Children of the Corn.

message 7: by Andre (new)

Andre That would be too interesting of a concept, having One Direction fans stage a war againts all non OD-Fans.

message 8: by Sam (new)

Sam <-- now picturing 1D fans as Spartans. :)

message 9: by Andre (new)

Andre :D

message 10: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie what. even.

I read non-fan fiction that had exactly that damaged serial killer stuff... and it had... some success.

Andre The books I am talking about are the Lost Shifter series by Stephenie Hecht. Her leopard shifter Shane was an assassin and apparently she was serious when she had characters talk how he used to bring the heads of his victims as gifts or use their intestines for

message 13: by Andre (new)

Andre She never shows that guy doing this but we are constantly reminded. And apparently that is the most popular character because... I don't know. It is pretty sick.

Natalie Marie Brewer Omg yesss haahahaha

Andre Silja wrote: "haha I just looked it up... dat cover, though. Sounds like pretty cheap gay porn for women. Doesn't sound like something an actual gay person would enjoy. :P "

I would not even count on most women enjoying this either, I think it caters to the kind that are the most susceptible for the "he just needs a hug" trope.

Mizuki From your quotes this Harry Hardin sounds like an ass, now I feel sorry for the 1D guy in real life.

I saw that some fans of 1D have concern over how this After series would affect Harry Styleh's image. LOL

message 19: by Andre (new)

Andre Well considered how often people cannot differentiate between fictional characters and real live counterparts this could be a legitimate concern.

Yes it is. =__=

And as a fanfic writer, I really don't like Real People Based fanfics get published

He should sue, but sadly, I don't think he will. The 1D boys' image is built upon romantic availability, and their management pretty much has them in a chokehold. It's like why the guy from N'Sync didn't come out as gay during the band's heyday.

message 24: by Andre (new)

Andre The guy named Lance Bass is gay and came out later. Actually a few more boyband members are gay, one of the reasons why there is so much speculation and slashing for KPop bands and 1D:
Lance Bass talks One Direction and Jason Collins

message 25: by Mizuki (new) - added it

Mizuki well, they should think a bit more about allowing gay boyband members to come out, they might gain some more gay fans or yaoi fangirls as a result.

message 26: by O.R. (new) - added it

O.R. I saw it in Asda a few days ago. You know what it says on the cover? "There is only one direction". "Wattpad sensation". Doesn't really matter whether she changed the names or not.

Same. Gives me creeps. And from what I've read from fans it shows Harry in the worst light.

*nod nods* I wrote my favorite band artists into serial killers and madmen among other things in my RPB fanfics too, but would I dare to get them published? No.

message 29: by O.R. (new) - added it

O.R. And to think both After and 50shades gonna be movies :|

message 30: by Andre (new)

Andre They want to cash in on the fanbase pure and simple, luckily I am immune against such tactis... and not a fan of either.

message 31: by O.R. (new) - added it

O.R. Hardin... Should have called him a hardon at least it would be funny

message 32: by O.R. (new) - added it

O.R. I hope it isn't real haha

message 33: by Andre (new)

Andre It is real, I found it as a family name and a name of several places.
It is also allegedly a boys name meaning "valley of the hares", but I found that the meaning of the family name as well, and is a variant of the old English Harden.

message 34: by O.R. (new) - added it

O.R. Poor boys that get named Hardons then
I mean Hardins

Cause he gets hard all the time. :P

message 37: by Astrid (new) - added it

Astrid The only thing that is good about this book is that the guy (so far from all of the books I've read) a guy main character actually love classics.

message 38: by Mango (new)

Mango In the book, the author randomly switches between Harry and Hardin it's so weird💀
