All Pay-as-you-go and Flex accounts get the first 2,500 credits per day for free. Free credits are "use it or lose it" and do not roll over.

Pay-as-You-Go is billed every month on the 1st, based on total usage from the previous month. For example, if you upload a file on March 15, you will be charged on April 1. You are only charged if you have usage above the free daily allotment for the previous month.

If you purchase credits, you'll be billed immediately.

Flex and Unlimited accounts are billed up-front for the following month. You can downgrade at any time via the dashboard. (Please note, unless you remove your payment information from your account or stop all usage beyond the free tier, you will be billed under pay-as-you-go going forward.)

Additional data, such as Congressional Districts, State Legislative Districts, Census Identifiers, ACS data, and more can be appended to your results.

Each category you add counts as one additional lookup for each record. For example, if you wanted the timezone data for 1,000 addresses, it would count as 2,000 lookups.

You have two options to control your usage:

1. Usage limits. Set a daily limit for up to 50,000 lookups per day. Requests will fail above that limit.
2. Credits. Purchase credits upfront to ensure you don't exceed a certain dollar amount then set your account to limit to the free tier after your credits run out.

Yes, a volume discount is available if you purchase credits upfront. Discounts start at 500,000.

Credits do not expire.

Flex and Unlimited annual plan subscribers are eligible for an additional discount on credit purchases.

Yes! Geocodio has a 5% discount for non-profits and academics. Please contact us from your official email to get it added to your account.

Our self-service and Enterprise platforms run on entirely separate infrastructure. Only the Enterprise platform is SOC 2 Type II audited. Please see Enterprise pricing for more.

A credit is the currency you spend to run a lookup. Think of lookups as the work and credits as what pays for it. Every lookup draws one credit from your balance, whether that credit came from a Flex subscription or a pre-purchased bundle.

One lookup uses one credit. That is the whole relationship. If a request adds up to 500 lookups, it uses 500 credits. This holds true no matter which type of lookup you are running - geocoding, data appends, distance calculation, etc - so you can reason about cost by counting lookups and knowing that credits track them one for one.

For example, if you geocode 1,000 addresses and append Congressional districts to your results, you would anticipate 2,000 lookups to accrue during the job. This would require 2,000 credits to complete.

Royal Mail licenses UK address data per person, so every full seat on UK-enabled plans carries a real licensing cost.

Geocodio bundles each seat with 1,000,000 credits per year, which works out to a 25% discount compared to base per-credit rates. Billing and viewer seats never touch licensed data, so they're free.
