The long-awaited Dune remake is coming to cinemas this Christmas (hopefully) – but the gift of Funko POP!s will be bestowed upon us all a bit earlier.

Funko recently announced launch details for its first range of POP!s from director Denis Villeneuve's big-screen reinvention of author Frank Herbert's science fiction epic, starring Timothée Chalamet as the messiah of desert planet Arrakis.

Five mini-figures make up this first wave in all, including Chalamet's promised prince Paul Atreides – available for pre-order now for $10.99 in the US and £9.99 in the UK.

Also included in this collection will be Duke Leto Atreides (US/UK), played by Oscar Isaac (who is no stranger to Funko POP!s from his Star Wars days).

House Atreides allies Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson, US/UK) and Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa, US/UK) are also featured, as is their nemesis Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård, US/UK).

This full wave will be released in November 2020. Unfortunately, Zendaya's Chani has not been included in this collection, though that might be because she says she has only a minor role in the film.

"My part is very, very small in this movie and that's why I'm so excited to see it, to see what everyone's been up to," she told Empire.

"[Director Denis Villeneuve and I] had a little discussion about who Chani is and the strength she possesses. She's a fighter, that's what her people are.

"I only really had a few days with her, so I kind of scratched the surface but it was so much fun figuring her out. What does she walk like, what does she talk like? This is her planet, so how does she navigate this world? It was so fun."

Dune is scheduled for release in cinemas on December 18, 2020.
