Product Information

We specialize in selling authentic, original retro gaming products that are thoroughly tested and back by our 1-year warranty!

Our refurbishment process ensures that every console and game meets our standards for functionality and cleanliness. Each item is tested, cleaned, and refurbished, with every effort made to keep components original, though some minor internal or external parts may be replaced if necessary. You can find a more detailed explanation on our Refurbish and Inspection Process webpage here.

At DKOldies, our refurbished video game consoles go through a multi-step refurbishment process to ensure high quality. Every retro gaming console repair includes deep cleaning, internal inspection, replacement of faulty parts, and full functionality testing. Unlike private sellers or marketplaces, we guarantee our work with a one-year warranty. Whether you’re buying a refurbished NES, SNES, N64, PlayStation, or Xbox, you can trust that it has been professionally tested and cleaned. For a detailed breakdown of our process, visit our Refurbishment and Inspection Process page.

We do sell games and consoles with original packaging and manuals. We also offer everything individually so you can get exactly what you want. Please refer to the product options or description to see exactly what is included with your purchase. For more details, check out our Refurbish and Inspection Process webpage here.

It is our commitment to provide you with the best value, at the best price. We value your business and strive to keep our prices low, and SAVE you money!  The DKOldies price guarantee policy allows you to request a price adjustment within 30 days of the purchase date if you find a lower price on DKOldies.com for an identical item.  The price adjustment will be in the form of store credit to your DK account.

Our pricing is determined solely by supply and demand in the retro video game market. DKOldies creates demand by introducing retro gaming to a wider audience, including casual gamers and new collectors. This increased interest often affects the price of classic games, rare retro consoles, and used video game accessories. Unlike individual sellers, we add value through our quality assurance, professional refurbishment, and one-year warranty. Our retro game prices reflect current market trends, ensuring that every item we sell is authentic, tested, and backed by a guarantee. To browse our latest inventory and pricing, visit DKOldies.com.

Good condition products are in good, used condition. All games and consoles that are offered are upwards of 45 years old, therefore “new” condition should not be expected. When classifying a good condition game, we take into consideration the front label and cartridge condition. Minor cosmetic flaws (scratches, discoloration, chips) are common due to the age and nature of the product.

Acceptable/Cosmetically Flawed products may have chips, scratches, discoloration, stickers, inoperable reset buttons or other issues. They are cleaned, tested, and guaranteed to work just like our good condition products, however because of their flaws they are offered at a discounted price but still backed by our free 1 year warranty. They are a great option for those who aren't collectors and just want to play their favorite games and systems!

Some hardcore gamers and resellers don’t like that we focus on making retro gaming fun and easy for everyone, not just experts. We only sell authentic games, no fakes, so people always know what they’re getting. We also pay higher prices for collections to keep up with demand, which puts pressure on resellers to adapt.

On the other hand, many gamers and collectors appreciate our guaranteed quality, refurbishing, and warranty, knowing they’re getting the real deal without the hassle. Learn more here.

With millions of followers and a reach in the hundreds of millions per month, we’re a well-known name in the retro gaming community. Joey and the DKOldies team are active online, taking feedback and sharing our journey every day. We’re open about our process, and while we can always make mistakes, we take responsibility, fix them, and learn from them to improve.

Unfortunately, some people try to use our vast reach and popularity to gain traction on social media, often by exploiting single mistakes or spreading misinformation. That’s part of the territory when you’re in the public eye, but it doesn’t change our commitment to our customers.

If you ever have questions about an order, we’re here to help. Contact us anytime.

Troubleshooting

Hooking up your TV to the video game console

-Using the RF Unit: Disconnect anything plugged into the cable input of the TV and plug that into the ant. input on the RF Unit.  Next, connect the small cable wire, attached to the RF Unit, to the TV’s cable input. Last, connect the long black wire end into the back of the console at the RF port and make sure the channel 3-4 switch is designated to the TV channel you want to use.

-Using AV Cables: Input one end of the AV Cables to your TV’s AV or Video input jack. Make sure to match up the color of the wire with the color of the input port.  Some systems only need one audio and the video wire (yellow) to be hooked up. Next, connect the other end of the AV Cables to the console.  Last, turn your TV on and change the channel setting to the correct input/video/auxiliary channel.

-Plug in the AC adapter to a wall outlet and plug the other end into the AC adapter port on the back of the console. The N64 AC adapter looks like a black brick. This brick slides into the rear of the N64 console and will click into place. There is no other cord needed. The other end will plug into your wall outlet.

-Connect your jumper or expansion pak into the Memory Expansion bay on top of your N64. (N64 only)

-Plug your controller into the 1st controller port on the front of the console.

-If using a Zapper gun, plug the Zapper into the 2nd controller port. Zapper guns will only work on Tube Televisions. The Zapper gun fit may be very tight and may require some force to properly connect.

-Input your cleaned game and press the power button on the console and the game will be ready to be played.

- The NES pins in the console need to touch the game chip. The tiniest piece of dust could prevent this from happening! Try blowing into the open end of your game and console to remove any dust.

- After inserting a game, if the screen is blinking, you can move the game slightly to the left, right, forward or back as needed until the title screen appears. Once it does, hit the reset button and it will work! Each game fits a little differently, so sometimes a game simply needs to be realigned.

- Some systems and games play better without pressing down the console’s tray. Give it a try!

- Check your connections! Make sure your AV cables match the color of the corresponding AV ports on your TV and console as well as pressed in fully. Then ensure that your TV is on the correct input.

- If using an RF unit, make sure it is screwed into your TV and that your TV is on the correct TV channel (3 or 4) according to the channel switch on the back of your NES console.
Note: Tight games? We replace the part of the console that grabs your games in all of our consoles (72-pin connectors). It is natural for them to be tight and hard to insert or remove games initially. The pins need time to break in and will loosen up over time with use!

HAVING ISSUES WITH YOUR REPLICA NES CONTROLLER?

The replica controllers received with your NES need to be pushed in pretty hard to work properly. If they are not in all the way, they will not work as intended and will seem loose. Please try pushing the controllers into the console with some more force so they are flush against the console. Don't worry about breaking the system, they are pretty sturdy! In almost every instance of this issue, this will solve the problem. The amount of force needed to get the controller into the console will loosen up with a little bit of use.

-The pins in the console need to touch the game chip. The tiniest piece of dust could prevent this from happening! Try blowing into the open end of your game and console to remove any dust.

-If using an AV to HDMI converter, insert the AV cables (red/yellow/white) into the matching color ports of the converter, then insert an HDMI cable into the other end. This will then go into your TV. The converter requires external power via a USB cord that comes with it. Be sure to plug this into a wall outlet.

-Make sure your AV cables match the color of the corresponding AV ports on your TV as well as pressed in fully. Then ensure that your TV is on the correct input.

-The pins in the console need to touch the game chip. The tiniest piece of dust could prevent this from happening! Try blowing into the open end of your game and console to remove any dust.

-Check the Jumper Pak. This is located on top of the console between the power and reset buttons. Pry out the pak with a flat head screwdriver or butter knife from the rear of the pak itself. Once removed blow out the expansion bay and do a quick wipe of the jumper pak pins with a q-tip and rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol or water. Then reinsert the jumper pak and power on your system.

-Make sure your AV cables match the color of the corresponding AV ports on your TV as well as pressed in fully. Then ensure that your TV is on the correct input.

-To clean the disc: Hold the disc by the edges without touching the surface and clean the underside of the disc with a soft, clean cloth, lightly wiping from the center outwards.

--You may use a small amount of water, but do not use solvents or chemicals to clean the disc. Also, make sure not to scrub the disc as this may damage it.
Your game disc is scanned by a laser to read the information. The smallest amount of dust or smudge, even from a fingerprint, can prevent the disc from reading properly.

**Be aware that the laser can scan through disc scratches as long as the scratch is not all the way through the disc to the other side.

--If using an AV to HDMI converter, insert the AV cables (red/yellow/white) into the matching color ports of the converter, then insert an HDMI cable into the other end. This will then go into your TV. The converter requires external power via a USB cord that comes with it. Be sure to plug this into a wall outlet.

Controller not responding?

-Batteries - Verify you have 2 AA batteries inserted in the Wii remote.

-Sensor Bar - Verify your sensor bar is connected to the back of the console fully.

-Sync - Press the sync buttons on both the controller and console. The player indicator light on the bottom front of the controller will flash, then turn solid to show it is connected.

-Can’t find the sync buttons? - These are located on the back of the remote by the batteries and the side panel on the front.
