We connect the organisations, knowledge and infrastructure needed to build a complete value chain for electric flying.
Airlines, airports, manufacturers, research institutes and innovators — working together.

"We revolutionise transportation by building a network of organisations dedicated to creating a value chain for electric flying."
By working together, we establish electric airlines, flying schools, and electric regional aviation across Europe.
Become a MemberOn 29 May 2026, for the first time, a Beta ALIA CX300 flew in the Netherlands. Demonstration flights took place at Den Helder Airport and Lelystad Airport — facilitated by e-Smart Avia and delivered in collaboration with EFC and the host airports. It was a historic milestone for electric aviation in Europe.
Europe's regional aviation infrastructure is ready. The technology is proven. What's needed is the network to connect them — and that is exactly what EFC builds.
Electric flying unlocks point-to-point travel between Europe's regional hubs — eliminating hub-and-spoke detours and reducing travel time significantly.
Current battery technology already covers the most-travelled short-haul distances. This is the segment where electric aviation is ready to compete today.
As batteries improve and renewable energy becomes more available, a significant share of fossil fuel flights under 800 km can be replaced by electric alternatives.
From training aircraft flying today to 90-seat airliners on the horizon — electric aviation is scaling fast.
Aircraft shown are indicative and represent a range of electric aircraft that will operate in each segment during that period.
We envision a future where electric aviation is not a niche technology but a standard transportation option connecting Europe's regions sustainably and efficiently.
EFC understands that success requires close cooperation with the existing aviation industry. We do not replace — we connect and accelerate. Our six working groups cover the full value chain: from aircraft manufacturing and certification to infrastructure, training, and entrepreneurship.
See Our MembersEFC welcomes organisations actively contributing to or with a strategic interest in the development of electric aviation — from OEMs and airports to universities and service providers.
