Vintage Persian Cheetah Gabbeh

Affectionately referred to as ‘cat rugs’ amongst the First Rugs team are a variety of Persian Gabbeh style rugs featuring highly stylized animals such as cheetah, jaguar, leopards and lions.

This striking Persian Gabbeh rug features a bold, stylized cheetah design against a deep red field. Handwoven by tribal artisans, its minimal yet expressive depiction of the cheetah, with elongated limbs and abstract spots, reflects the unique storytelling tradition of Gabbeh weavers. The high pile creates a warm, plush texture, while the simple geometric border in orange and black adds a subtle frame to the composition.
