Diving Strike is a technique in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts III. It allows the user to strike while falling.
Mechanics[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Diving Strike is a command exclusive to Dive Mode. It can be activated by pressing ,
in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD. When used, the user doubles their speed, hitting enemies along the way. Diving Strike can be used 3 times in a row to form a combo. Diving Strike deals 40 damage, instantly defeating any regular enemy it hits.
In Kingdom Hearts III, Diving Strike replaces the attack command when Sora or Kairi[KH III RM] falls from great height. It can be used to inflict damage, or break large objects often containing treasure chests. Sora's version has him pause in midair before piercing the ground blade-first and generating a shockwave that can strike multiple enemies, while Kairi's version is identical to her Strike Shift attack.
