There are essentially 3 different types of head scarves: square scarves, rectangular scarves, and pre-tied scarves. Pre-tied scarves are a combination between a hat and scarf that require little to no tying, making them an easy option for those who want a low maintenance yet elegant look.

Tying a head scarf is easier than it seems. The first step of tying a headscarf is folding the scarf in half diagonally to create a triangle. The next steps depend on the final look you want to achieve. For the most basic way to tie a scarf, you will place the long edge of the triangle along the forehead and use the tails at the back to tie a knot or bow.
