Swiss Cheese Recipes (PHOTOS)

Is it just us, or has Swiss cheese has been losing favor since the 90s? Once a high-ranking cheese for many dairy lovers, Swiss seems to be waning in popularity at the same time as artisanal cheeses have been on the up and up. We understand the appeal of artisanal cheese (Mt. Tam!). But, no matter how fanatical you are about your clothbound cheddar, don't dis the Swiss.

Swiss cheese has a very important place in our kitchens -- holes and all. Swiss cheese can give a cheeseburger a great kick. It makes grilled cheeses taste like something completely new. And of course, it holds its own in fondue.
