We are on a mission to solve the greatest problem in the world – lostness

Lostness is the greatest problem because it’s an eternal problem. Billions of people around the world are without the hope of Jesus.

Bringing the Gospel to the World

God is pursuing the lost every day and He is inviting us to join Him

Together, we passionately carry the gospel to the unreached.
This is our Great Pursuit, and our unwavering commitment.

Commitment to proclaim the gospel

IMB missionaries tirelessly work for gospel access across all boundaries, aiming for transformed lives and local ownership of the mission. Our vision, rooted in Revelation 7:9, is God’s vision for a multitude from every corner of the world knowing and worshiping Jesus Christ.

Commitment to serve Southern Baptists

Since 1845, IMB has cooperatively served Southern Baptists in fulfilling the Great Commission. Over 25,000 missionaries shared the gospel, made disciples, and planted churches globally. Today, more than 3,500 IMB missionaries work with churches and global partners to continue this steadfast commitment.

Commitment to support missionaries

IMB missionaries, driven by a love for Jesus, willingly go to the ends of the earth. Through the generous support of Southern Baptists, they receive unwavering care, eliminating the need to raise personal support. This includes emotional and spiritual support, educational choices for their children, medical insurance, retirement benefits, and unparalleled organizational support.

Commitment to find and reach the lost

God’s heart for the nations resonates in our mission. There are over 8 billion people on Earth and 173,451 of them die lost each day–we cannot accept this reality. Identifying more than 7,000 unreached people groups in the world, we are committed to finding and sharing the life-changing message of the gospel with them.

Testimonials

It takes almost all day to get to this indigenous village, and it’s one of the closest communities on the mountain. Because of your giving, we can help Christians to be discipled and take the gospel further up the mountain to people who have never heard.

I have learned so much from IMB resources, training tools, leaders, and staff! Continuing to learn and be thankful for all the ways God uses the IMB in reaching the lost among the nations!

In my city, I teach English at a community center. We use Scripture to teach students English and share the gospel. One of my favorite parts of my job is discipling young women. Thank you for providing this opportunity.

How we are funded

How is the International Mission Board funded?

The IMB primarily relies on two main financial sources: The Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®. Together, these two programs account for more than 95% of our total budgeted income. We are deeply thankful for the ongoing support and dedication of Southern Baptists through the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

"The IMB's vision is not ours to fashion. God has given His vision to the church. That vision, expressed so clearly in Revelation 7:9 of a multitude of every language, people and tribe and nation, is His vision."

Paul Chitwood, IMB President

Our Partners
