Dayton Lummis(1903-1988)

Prolific American character actor of stage, screen and radio. Usually seen as bearded judges, marshals, senior military officers or aristocrats in westerns and period dramas on television. Trained at the Martha Oatman Theatre School in Los Angeles. On stage from the age of 24. His son, Dayton Lummis Jr, is a former museum curator and author of nonfiction works on the American West.
