She is the daughter of Manuel Flores Mora (1923-1984), a Uruguayan journalist and politician. He is remembered as a member of the 'Generation of 45', a Uruguayan intellectual and literary movement including Ángel Rama, Emir Rodríguez Monegal, Carlos Real de Azúa, Mario Benedetti, Juan Carlos Onetti, among others.
