Frank Minzey was the second husband of actress Rosa Smock, also known
as Rose Melville, the original "Sis Hopkins." An accomplished
songwriter and actor, Minzey joined the permanent theater cast of "Sis
Hopkins" sometime before October 1905. Minzey and Melville retired from
the stage and road tours in about 1917 and moved to an estate on the
eastern shore of Lake George, New York, where the couple resided the
rest of their respective lives. After retirement from stage and screen,
Minzey founded a successful automobile agency in Lake George Village.
It is probable that Minzey appeared in many of the Sis Hopkins shorts
produced by The Kalem Company in and circa 1916.
