In preparation for Adormidera (2013) Andrei trained authentic medieval swordfighting for six months using real unsharpened swords, the same kind which were used during filming. His character removed all the body armor he was wearing in the beginning of the film, as a symbol of retiring from battle, however that left him completely unprotected during the following fighting scenes.
