Born in Los Angeles, raised in San Diego, and briefly attending school in the Philippines, his ancestry is of Ilocano heritage from the Northern Philippines. For over two decades, Apostol was prominently known as a manual therapist and teacher of the indigenous art of Ablon manual medicine. He spent seven years as a therapist at Deepak Chopra's wellness center in San Diego, California. He is the author of "Way of the Ancient Healer," coauthor of "Healing Hands of Hilot," and continues to work on other manuscripts. He is a cultural advocate, and researcher of the northern Philippine combat art of Escrima, and he periodically gives talks at universities, and conducts healing workshops across the US, Canada, Mexico, and in Europe.
