Just the Two of Us

Having just watched David Stanley's imaginative "Melt" feature for Wicked Pictures, I was dismayed at his decline in "Just the Two of Us", an indulgent, silly exercise released by Girlfriends Films as part of its pact with B. Skow, Stanley's frequent collaborator.

It's a failed attempt at kinkiness, lacking the successful humor of Stanley's recent string of top-notch scripts (like "Daddy's Girls" and "Southern Hospitality") written for Skow to direct.

Evan Stone and wife Amy (Nadia Styles) have a weird relationship - he likes to see her hump other men -that's how he gets off. Given the huge niche popularity recently of the cuckold genre, this isn't strange enough, so Stanley throws in a predilection of the duo for foot fetishism, a topic he explored successfully (if arbitrarily tossed in the mix) a decade earlier in "Melt".

Styles' sister Betty (played by Charley Chase) is a religious nut, who hasn't had sex with her husband Tony Rosano in over 2 years. Opening scene has Nadia servicing pick-up Alec Knight (with her feet) in a car, and second sex scene has her playing footsie with her husband, resulting in her squirting urine all over good sport Stone's cock and belly.

To prove this pedal action is no fluke, next scene opens with closeup of Betty's curling toes. So we're in a parallel universe where foot fetishism is as normal as Mom's Apple Pie. Betty finds a mean-spirited note on her door from intern Megan (played by attractive newcomer Kasey Warner). We're introduced to Megan wiggling her toes, with both Evan and Tony voyeuristically ogling the girl. Turns out Tony is unfaithful.

Styles advises sis Betty to try hard to win back her husband's affection, so Charley dons some trashy black lingerie plus fetish high heels, blindfolds and gags Tony in preparation for kinky sex. Betty & Megan have lesbian sex in front of him and he peeks. Tony sucks on his wife's foot while the gals get it on, accompanied by "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" on the soundtrack. Betty gets the punchline: "Don't ever cheat on me again".

Betty apologizes to her sister -now she realizes how one can be empowered by being bad (yes, pornographers cannot resist proselytizing, even tongue-in-cheek). She decides to join the club of folks enjoying watching sex in front of them -in this case her husband watching her.

Amy tells her of the joys of playing footsie to get a man off, but Betty is unimpressed -she wants to get off too. She suggests that they have sex as sisters in tandem - a little incest thrown into the mix. Actually it turns out to be more in the nature of wife-swapping, though this movie is ultimately about women taking control.

Resulting four-way by the two couples adds breast-sex to foot-fetish action, culminating in Amy licking the cum off her sister's feet. Ending is merely silly jokes, unsatisfying.

This throwaway feature suffers from poor casting - rather than being stimulated by the two heroine sisters, I felt sorry for them as the two actresses Styles and Chase are hot (in the sense of fluffers) but not particularly attractive and incapable of carrying a film in leading roles. Kasey is a find, but the whole thing reeks of Grade- Z potboiler made to merely indulge its director's fetish for feet.
