Devi: Goddess

This is a fascinating short film from Karishma Dube. It handles material in a new and different way that make it unique and well worth your time.

The story begins with a young woman being attacked by a group of men...with them calling her all sorts of terrible names. You aren't sure exactly why but later you realize she is a lesbian and this is likely a case of gay-bashing. However sympathetic you are to her however, you realize that she, too, can be cruel and bigoted. How and why? See the film.

You don't need to be gay to enjoy this short and appreciate its message about the abuse of folks due to class in India. I found the film very brace and well worth seeing.
