Glen Hardy narrates this well-designed industrial film. It praises the railroad, its history, its current importance in the United States. And then Hardy comes along. He's been given one of those scripts in which he can't shut up for a moment. You can't enjoy the images and the editing. Instead, he must tell you what you're seeing, and he must tell you by adding an adjective to every noun, an adverb to every adjective, and a flowery phrase to every image. By the end you're disgusted with the entire process. Shut up and get back to work!
