A Perfect Mix

Alexa Grace emerges as the saving grace of this trifling romance for Adam & Eve Pictures by veteran director Skye Blue. I suspect it plays well, shorn of XXX footage, on late-night pay cable but is a softie in its integral original hardcore form.

I have always referred to interracial sex in theatrical porn as "mixed-combo", the term popular back in the day, and that is the "Mix" of its title. Every sex scene is IR with a balance of Black women in the cast, though today's gonzo popularity of IR seems to be exclusively slanted toward casting of BBC's opposite petite white actresses.

Grace stars as a successful blogger who's angling to have her sex-oriented novel published, using her interactions from the blog as material. Central conflict, which gives way to sex a bit clumsily later in the show, pits Grace against egotistical misogynist Ricky Johnson, who writes male-supremacist articles for a magazine run by Aaron Wilcoxxx.

The uncredited screenplay awkwardly knits the characters together to avoid collapsing into the more usual (and simpler) separate vignettes format of today's porn content, but the individual sex scenes are played well enough to command one's attention. Misty Stone's acting is exemplary as always, and starlet Nina North (an Abella Danger type) makes a good impression.

Cameo appearance here for the fabulous "Immoral Proposal" mansion, its spiral staircase seen briefly in the background in a scene when drunken Ricky visits Grace and passes out in the foyer.
