      In the early 1970s, an American margarine company convinced a fancy French restaurant to prepare two identical dishes, one made with their margarine and the other made with real butter, and offer both dishes to their customers for comparison. Cameras recorded the customers sampling the dishes and saying, "No difference". These were shown in American commercials for the margarine. This is the inspiration for the blindfolded French chef who appears repeatedly in the film, saying "NO DEE-FRAWNCE!" in a thick and phony French accent.

      The earlier release on Media in 1978 uses an exceedingly scratchy print and has two segments missing that are viewable on the later Harmonyvision release: a proctology TV ad that appears just after the Midas Touch Cleaning Fluid ad, and the "Convert. The Church Is Changing" spot, which appears towards the film's end, right after the Dinner Bars commercial. The latter spot features a woman dressed as a priest, stripping in front of a church window. The former features a line of bare male bottoms. It isn't clear why these scenes are missing (the film is still pretty explicit without them), but both are intact on the later Harmonyvision release, which also boasts a much-better source print.

    Disappointing comedy of historic value

    I really wanted to like this movie. With a cast like this, I expected better. Chevy Chase, Laraine Newman, John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Howard Hesseman and more. The reason I picked it up was because Ernie Anderson plays Quant O'Neil, Tunnel Vision anchorman. He only appears a few times but he narrates throughout the movie.

    This movie suffers due to bad writing. I can't imagine that I would've thought this movie was funny even back in 1976 and stoned. I think I chuckled once, not sure when. It's really only worth watching to see these folks in their youth, before they became big and famous.
