In 1571, Sacedón del Río is a popular Middle Age town, with its castle under command of Duke of Sacedon : Jose Sazatornil "Saza", its sheriff and its Thursday market in the Plaza Mayor. There arrives a medicine man , Manolo Otero, with his carriage to sell his healing products, strange unguents, remedies for elevating sexual craving and elixirs for eternal youth. As the Duke asks the physicist an ointment to enhance his sexual appetite for his wife, Helga Line. Along the way , lives of the villagers pass peacefully with its nutty messes , problems , adulteries , loves and disappointments.

This Cuentos de Las Sabanas Blancas is a run-of-the-mill Seventies sex comedy that will appeal to Manolo Otero fans . A charming as well as embarrassing comedy that contains crazy events , nudism, funny set pieces and bewilding situations . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit . It is an amusing Spanish comedy that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever , though it has some fun and hilarious moments . Humor is sometimes cheesy and gross-out with numerous naughty and picaresque situations . This ¨Cuentos de las sábanas blancas (1977)¨ is a mediocre picture with some agreeable moments , being profesional but middlingly by Mariano Ozores in his usual style and had big success in the Spanish box office similarly to ¨Brujas Magicas¨ which he made in similar wake . Mariano's family origin is into show business , being son of Mariano Ozores Sr and brother of José Luis Ozores and Antonio Ozores . Furthermore , uncle of Emma Ozores and Adriana Ozores . Mariano is a craftsman filmmaker and writer , in fact he wrote the fun screenplay , he recently won a Goya Award (2016) to his long and fruitful career .
