Amanda by Night

Unusual adult fare in that this is a pretty good mix of detective crime thriller and porno that just about comes off. Veronica Hart and Jamie Gillis acquit themselves well and if some of the others struggle the movie hangs together well enough. In fact towards the end it seems to forget it's a porno altogether and there is a substantial section without sex before the romantic (!) ending. There are good scenes, plenty of believable explicit sex action and if not quite as edgy as some of Gillis' other more SM orientated sex films this has just enough for us to believe in the seamy and violent plot line. Probably quite a good introduction to the hard stuff for anyone considering taking their first step.
