Literally.
What a mess this children's TV drama is. Not surprised to discover it's virtually unheard of, and it looks like I'm the first to post a review about it. So, here goes...
Thin characters with no motivation for what they do.
Decent cast giving bad performances, apart from Miriam Margoyles who is always good value.
Why can NO ONE cry convincingly?!
It was interesting seeing late 80's London, so much so I wished I was watching a travelogue instead of this tripe.
With it's random plot events and quasi-religious undertones, this is far more weird than enthralling and is a case study in how to make a pig's ear out of a potentially interesting subject.
Which is adoption, by the way. Not that you'd remember by the end with so much nonsense happening.
Leave it in the past where it belongs. 4/10.
