One of the many titles Playboy did on this fun subject, 'Girls of Spring Break' shows off it's 1991 roots. What does that mean? Well my friends that means lots of footage of the non-nude variety, lots of talking with ladies, PB staff. There's lovely nudity here, but it's not coming at you rapid fire and certainly doesn't feel like the first priority of the video.
An intro complete with narrator gets right down to playing up the high energy for this yearly event so the naive will be excused for thinking this initial hot montage (1.5 mins) represents the final product. This misguided hope will likely be silenced though when the opening turn to lots of talking, non-nude scenery (6.5 mins total). "Carolyn" the first lady goes between footage at the loud, raunchy beach festivities as she participates in a bikini contest and on set for an interview that leads to her naked covered in paint (4.5 mins).
"Kari" largely consists of her photoshoot in the desert. She looks great, but it's not a legit scene in the sense that all the material has a bts feel to it. Though there's a few shots of her posing nude in the mix (3.5 mins). "Michelle and Wendy" continues the format already established. Chat with the featured ladies, PB staff and candid footage of the ladies skiing, having a sleighride and then horseback riding. In the early going their naked before getting in a hot tub and one delicious overhead shot of Wendy from head to toe oiled up. In the back half there's getting naked in a cottage complete with roaring fire, bearskin rug (10.5 mins). "Angela" is a busty attractive blonde, but don't get too excited. Some shots in a bikini, club dancing in a white bodysuit and briefly topless is all you get in this quickie (1 min).
"Brittany" focuses on her being a potential Playmate, but the part you'll most care about is when she hits a western set cowgirl style and joined by Tina Bockrath - Playmate May 1990 - a fellow Texan. They talk but also get naked 'a plenty. High energy, best part so far hands down (9 mins). "Christy" starts with a chat, pics shown then a romantic scene inside a mansion that has quick topless shots (2.5 mins). "Joanie" starts with PB staff talking about her, but quickly cuts to her topless in a scene that goes from working out, martial arts to being sculptured from clay nude modelling. Pictorial shots of her follow as she chats to close things out (4 mins). "Andi" chats, pics are shown and candid footage in public. Topless in the country wraps it up (3.5 mins).
"Cherish" is another wacky short that highlights a tanned blonde being photographed on top of a sign (30 secs). "Ramah" is largely a pictorial being shot and while she looks, sounds nice it doesn't have much to deliver (1.5 mins). "Soula" has lots of chatter, but views of her nude come during a photoshoot and in pics. Then a proper scene on a bed in white bra, panties combo has the views you want. For the end is a bikers theme as she rides on the back and is shown intercut wielding a guitar as Guns 'N Roses 'Welcome to the Jungle' plays. The real music track is a cool addition and also the best part. Only fleeting shots of Soula topless here (7 mins).
'Girls of Spring Break' is a product of it's time when videos were much simpler. As such the presentation is lacking in the places it counts the most. Some old school vibes, nostalgia help out, but wall to wall naked ladies, nonstop nudity is not the gameplan. If you can make the very necessary adjustment give it a go. Otherwise pick something else.
