Keith Erickson fronts the desultory loop carrier PEACOCK LADY, trying to breathe life into a dead duck. He fails. Something Weird issued it on video on Vol. 175 of its Dragon Art Theatre series.
Format has Erickson cast as an unsuccessful scriptwriter, in desperate need of inspiration. He arrives home to find wifey in bed with creepy Adam Ward, and she throws Erickson out, not Ward. There ensues an overlong sex scene with Ward mumbling his usual porn-speak nonsense and after assuming many positions delivering the customary money shot.
On the phone (most of his role is phoned in) Keith explains how this incident inspired him to write two hit screenplays "The Wife Stealers" and "I Sold My Wife into Slavery". He also began researching wife swapping in suburbia, cueing the second vignette of an orgy featuring the hot duo from the documentary "American Sexual Revolution" Diane and Bob, humping on the floor. There's also a threesome on a red couch in the same scene, a soundie loop with an impressive cast.
Continuing his phone conversation, Erickson introduces the next loop, a sex party at a home in Pasadena. Rick Cassidy is humping Suzanne Fields while the very attractive Starlyn Simone is making it with another guy. The SWV shill identifies Simone as Mindy Brandt (see: TRIVIA note for Starlyn in the database).
This orgy is also star-studded and presents suitable variety, when suddenly Keith (who we haven't seen there) is visible in the frame, leaving in a huff, presumably because no one was servicing him.
Back on the phone he name drops "Suburbia Sexualis" as a best-selling script of his (whatever that means), but now his writing has taken a different, more romantic turn since he married his true love.
Film ends with a flashback of how he met his current wife. Wearing his trademark fire-engine red sports jacket, he's at a whorehouse in Juarez, where perhaps the most recognizable "character actor" in porn Jack King is working as the 400-pound bartender.
Beautiful Carmen Olivera is a dancer who comes on to Keith, taking him to a bedroom, but he inexplicably rejects her. Carmen is mighty angry, but accedes to his request and sends the title character in to service him. A truly ugly woman, this no-name performer is covered in hideous tattoos which really turn Keith on. He humps her, photographed primarily (probably through ineptness than by design) softcore, and then spreads his typically copious money shot on her peacock tattoo on one thigh, a dragon tattoo on the other and her huge spider web belly inscription. True love.
Film, courtesy of Dragon Art's projector/shredder, ends mid-way through Keith's summation phone conversation, quite disconcerting. The dragon subtext here has nothing to do with that decades-later highly popular Swedish book and set of movies, though Something Weird could rename this opus THE UGLY GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO AND OTHERS.
I presume the high quality cast satisfied the baser instincts of a hard-up Adult Cinema audience back in the day, but it adds up to small beer 40 years on. The romantic library Muzak score is very drowsy.
