The segment by the Marx Brothers, a promotion for their film Die Marx Brothers auf See (1931) originally filmed for inclusion in Paramount on Parade (1930), is a re-working of the first act of their first successful Broadway play "I'll Say She Is". Except for a few name changes and additional gags, the scene is almost completely the same as the script used for the stage production. To date, this segment and the Napoleon sketch in The Mad, Mad, Mad Comedians (1970) are the only the film adaptations of material from that play.

Hard to rate, as it's really not a film intended for the general public.

"The House That Shadows Built" is a promotional film that was made to be shown to film distributors and other inside folks in order to promote the 20th anniversary of Paramount Studios. So, while the film isn't the most watchable short film, it really wasn't intended to be shown on YouTube!

The short consists of clips from their films starting with 1912. None of the clips have any sort of commentary....just the names of the stars in the films. It is something knowledgeable movie buffs might appreciate...others will probably just feel lost. Not bad but a film that becomes a bit tedious after a while. Had there been any original content, and not just quick clip, I might have scored this one higher.
