The wreck that was used in this mini-series is a boat called the "La Machaca" and is still lying in the same place at Captain Don's Habitat in Bonaire. According to Captain Don, the wreck sunk in 1977 at one hundred twenty feet and was relocated to shallow water in 1979 to film it.
