Dan Symmes, a 3-D expert who tried his hand at porn, attempted to cash-in (during the video era) on the success of his "4-D" hit film THE STARLETS, but this video farrago, duly reissued with the original on DVD, is of interest only to film school classes as a cautionary exercise.
His producer, the late John Lamb, had a library of footage, and much of it is recycled here rather clumsily. Video is "structured" (it's way too haphazardly assembled to deserve that connotation) with Amber Lynn as the hostess, giving us a history of The Starlets club and getting serviced sexually by Steve Drake at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking.
Just as sportscaster Warner Wolf used to say "let's go to the videotape", here Symmes does the reverse, having Amber introduce ancient shot-on-film footage. There's footage of John Holmes from Lamb productions including ZODIAC KILLER, with Amber pretending that we're watching the club's previous gardener (Drake having supplanted him); stag films chosen for their outlandishness, including a circa 1930 extreme example of fisting; and lots of footage of Kelli Everts from SEXUAL FREEDOM IN DENMARK and other Lamb recordings of the once-famous nude beauty contest winner.
The actual sequel about Chastity does not begin until 13 minutes of the video have elapsed. Taija Rae is very cute as the 17-year-old heroine in what soon becomes an embarrassingly asinine parody (written by Mark Weiss) of "The Wizard of Oz". She has been fitted with a poor special effects chastity belt, and needs to find a mysterious major domo (role of the Wizard) to get it removed. The creeps she meets, sexually, on her quest are the people she sees when waking up back home, just like Dorothy.
Instead of a dog Toto, she has a plush toy she carries around, which we're supposed to imagine she uses to masturbate with, in a typical porn motif. She gets sex from innocent-looking (!) Tom Byron, both before and after the belt is removed, and both John Leslie and Joanna Storm help her through the sex-filler paces while almost maintaining straight faces. Multiple roles for William Margold give the whole thing an air of a vanity production.
The boring development of the "Oz" plot, set at The Starlets club (which is really just a mansion/brothel) is interrupted by Amber Lynn from time to time, and it is clear that this video was just crudely and randomly padded to flesh out (so to speak) its running time. The 1977 original was no great shakes, but did contain some genuine eroticism, especially when Desiree West was on screen. Sequel is tough sledding, even if you like Taija Rae.
