Priklyucheniya kapitana Vrungelya

Do you remember when a certain old Soviet cartoon was in the spotlight, called "The Treasure Island"? There was a constant influx of memes about it. People loved it for its' absurd and wacky non-stop humor, which is not a surprise, since this style of humor has become even more prevalent in modern animation, so one could even say that this film was ahead of its' time.

Well, what we have here is basically more of the same, and also made by the same studio! The story is just as upbeat, the characters are just as wacky and memorable, the creativity is completely off the charts and the overwhelming absurdity is just as wild (arguably even more wild than in the Treasure Island).

The only aspect in which this show is slightly inferior to Treasure Island is animation. This project definitely had a lower budget (or maybe simply because it's longer) and therefore the animation looks less juicy and more rugged. But it still doesn't loose its' charm!
