Zidane: Ipsen and his good friend Colin worked at a tavern in Treno. One day, Ipsen got a letter. The letter was so wet from rain that most of the writing was illegible. The only part he could read said "Come back home." Nowadays, we have airships and stuff, but back then, it was really hard to travel. He didn't know why he had to go back, but he got some time off, gathered his things, and set out on his journey home. He walked a thousand leagues through the Mist. Sometimes he was attacked by vicious monsters, but he made it, because his friend Colin was by his side. And then, after much time on the road... He had to ask Colin something: "Why did you come with me?"
Garnet: And? What was Colin's answer?
Zidane: "Only because I wanted to go with you."

Crazy Credits
After completing the game, and watching the credits, a code may be entered to play blackjack against the computer-- a reference, possibly, to Final Fantasy VI's airship (the "Blackjack").

Alternative Versionen
In the original PS1 black label release of Final Fantasy 9 the company title is called Squaresoft. However in the PS1 Greatest Hits release version, Android, iOS, PC Steam version. The company title is now called Square-Enix in later versions due to the merger of Squaresoft and Enix back in 2003.

The best of the original Playstation era

Blessed with an innate sense of history, and tinged with a touch of melancholy, this title provides a fond FAREWELL to the OLD style of Final Fantasy. I will miss it, but that is NOT what impressed me the most about this game. It was the nicely wrought story, the most fully fleshed charachters of ANY 32-bit game, the AMAZING artwork, and the way they wove pieces of the series past into the story and environment. The gameplay is the most addictive in the series since 6, which came out here as 3, but was recently re-released as part of Final Fantasy ANTHOLOGY. I enjoyed the VERY SOUL of this game, an aspect that seemed minor in the previous two entries. This game reminds players WHY they loved the series in the first place.....STORY AND PERSONA. The best music and cinematics EVER to Grace ANY 32 or 64 bit system.
