I have a confession to make. When I hear about schools implementing "anti-bullying" programs, I am very, very, very cynical about their effectiveness. I always thought that all the kids who are being picked on should just gang up and beat the stuffing out of the bullies--it seems simple enough and if zebras did this, lions would soon become vegetarians, as there are a lot more zebras (i.e., those being bullied) than lions (bullies). Makes sense to me.
So, when I saw this was an anti-bullying film, I was naturally pessimistic about it. Well, now that I've seen it I'm still pretty sure this sort of material doesn't help BUT at least the film was really cool to watch and not all that preachy. The cool black animals/human bizarre creatures were fun to watch, the tribal music hypnotic and the overall effect was fascinating--and odd. This is a very watchable film for those who like unusual animated films, that's for sure.
