The Crippled Lamb

This is a sweet and heartwarming Christmas special that I now love after watching it online. Based on a children's book I had never heard or read, the story is about an orphaned lamb named Joshua who was born with a crippled leg. Except for Laura Lamb, the poor little lamb was excluded (and teased) from the rest of the flock as a result of this. One day, the flock leaves for the pasture for the day, and poor Joshua must stay behind as Samuel the shepherd saved him from a lion when he tried to get to the pasture by night, so he can be first. As he and his only friend, Abigail the cow (voiced by the wonderful Jodi Benson), were awakened by the sounds of special guests arriving at the stable, I'm afraid that's all I can tell you. All in all, I love every bit of this Christmas story, and I really love Jodi's rendition of "Away in a Manger," one of my favorite Christmas songs.
