The plot here is simple: a group of individuals have signed on as guinea pigs in a double blind medical study for an experimental drug under the promise of $30,000 dollars if they stay the course.
Only to be locked in a quarantine, after discovering that the drug has a side effect: if you fall asleep...you die.
After being kept up for 100 hours...6 people find themselves stuck in a situation where they must remain awake for 20 hours, until they are freed.
It's an idea that's been done before, most notably by the series Day 5.
So it better be interesting to be good.
The whole thing is effectively a simulated milgram experiment combined with a game of among us...as the group tries to sus out one of the individuals, whom they believe was inserted into the group as a mole for the company who have trapped them in this situation.
Unfortunately, it never really managed to fully engage me.
Largely because I never came around to care about any of the characters, including the main character - Claire.
Thus, I found myself waiting for a "big twist" to come and salvage the whole thing.
Of course...a twist does eventually come to fruition.
Though, it's more a series of little twists...not all of which make a whole lot of sense.
The ending was the most flabbergasting bit of all, though.
As it's just too implausible to believe, after witnessing everything that just happened.
To think they thought this was a good way to end it is confounding at best.
Because all it achieved was to make me leave feeling what I just watched was idiotic.
So I guess that this (along with the 2023 stinker Snow Falls) goes to show this isn't really a winning concept.
Or, at least, one that isn't easy to do well.
Just watch Day 5 instead.
It's way better.
3 out of 10.
